Great car with luxurious trim
Ive owned this car now for 6 months and its still an absolute pleasure to drive.
Fuel economy is not the rated 6.6, im getting around 7.1 or 7.2 l / 100 km which is still good.
Interior is beautifully done, all leather, nice trim, great sat/nav stereo
Ride is very quiet and smooth, take off is very good. Not a fan of the i-stop but can be easily deactivated (read forums)
Fixed price servicing,
Have been very happy with this car, I have the GT variant and it looks spectacular.

Good Car with Skyactiv tech!
This car has good torque and fuel efficiency. Driving it is full of fun. Noise control is better than my previous Accord Euro, but comparing with Lexus, it still has a long way to go.
Interior is quite beautiful. Legroom is fine for a sporty car.
Never have any big issue with this car.

Better than a luxury car
I've driven a few luxury cars and while they may be impressive the current Mazda 6 definitely is on par. It has the latest technology, navigation and bluetooth is on point, the glass speedometer that goes up and down is fantastic. The car is very easy to drive and manoeuvre and very comfortable. Good legroom and nice interiors. The hand break is a switch which takes a while to get used to but definitely no hindrance to the driving experience. The side mirrors automatically close as the car locks which also automatically locks as you leave the car. Exteriors also have a luxury appearance. Have been driving Honda for 15 years and changed to a new Honda every 3 years but the Mazda has definitely won me over.

Fantastic Car!!!
What an absolute pleasure to drive and with so much style. The efficiency is amazing and the features are very well thought through. Beautifully finished and since I purchase this car new, it has never missed a beat. Very spacious for the whole family and I love the responsiveness of the twin turbos.

Excellent all round
I've kept my eye on the Mazda 6 range ever since it was introduced in the early 2000s. Finally took the plunge in 2014 and love almost everything about it. The 'zoom-zoom' factor really holds true as it really is a lot of fun to drive, especially around windy roads. The steering wheel feels very responsive, yet safe at the same time. Not the quietest of drives but good enough for me. Petrol usage is excellent and the flip-down rear seats is a life saver when I take my bicycles on the road with me. Although subjective, I love the exterior and in...Read more
terior design of the car. Everything feels very solid and made of good quality materials. The exterior design is still my favourite in the consumer car market to date. My only complaints: - Navigating the entertainment system is a pain due to bad UI design, especially when searching for MP3 music tracks on a USB device. A larger screen would also be nice. - Regular .m3u playlists are not recognised. Windows media player playlists are, but again a pain to convert between these formats. - GPS system is really slow/unresponsive - Voice commands are fiddly so I rarely use them - Bluetooth connection to my phones take a very long time before I can start playing music. - I had a problem with 2 of my Android phones where the in-car phone/voice system would on occasion not work when I tried making a call from the phone, resulting in me having to switch to the phone's handsfree/speaker mode. Receiving calls however always worked fine. - No easy way to tell whether the rain-sensing wiper mode is enabled. The mode dial/knob doesn't clearly show a line to indicate which mode is currently selected. Sometimes I thought I had the right mode selected, or accidentally changed it.Similar opinion? Great car
Got a second hand Mazda 6 2014 for my first car.
Very happy with it, drink very little fuel, look beautiful after polish,
The new styling of the Mazda makes me wonder why would you ever buy other cars in its price range,
interior still works looks fresh unlike some other cars,
performance was bit lacking on higher rpm but that what you should expect
and car is very quiet when driving.

I can not recommend this car enough
To say I love this car is an understatement . I bought this car with a car allowance from work as I work in sales and am in my car 80% of the day . I have had many company cars over the years and this compares to any I've had . As I drive all day I need a car that is comfortable, safe and responsive . The Mazda is all of that . I can not recommend this car enough

A quick summary of ownership.
1. Handling, smooth; understeer, disconnected from the road.
2. Performance, 2.2litre twin turbo diesel: smooth and perky, at times feels like a petrol, noisy.
3. Noise, lots of road and wind noise penetrating the cabin.
4. Easy to navigate dash unit, plenty of leg room, boot space is good in the X and Y dimension but falls short on the Z dimension.
5. Reliability: 4 years so far, nil issues. Ask a mechanic, my individual report is not a big enough sample size.
6. Diesel true litres/100km is about 6.9 with the air conditioning cranked up with 50% high way and 50% town driving.

Great car but lacks a lot of power
Recently purchased a 2017 Mazda 6 Atenza, which is the top of the line model with beautiful shadow chrome wheels. This car looked the goods in the showroom and lived up to it's hype during the test drive.
With DAB Radio, GPS & Active Cruise Control along with comfortable Nappa Leather seats it seemed like the perfect family car for a family with 2 tall adult boys.
However, upon receiving the car and having driven it for just under 3 months, I'd have to say it is fairly mediocre. The 2.5L engine in the car starts to rev incessantly while a...Read more
ttempting to climb steep hills. There isn't as much overtaking power as any of the previous cars we have owned in a similar fashion (previous car was a 2012 Mercedes C250 for reference) But the worst and most painful problem would have to be the GPS system. There are some mornings where it'll just never load.. like absolutely never load. When it does load, the touchscreen on it is horrendous irregardless of whether I'm pressing the screen hard or soft. I think the GPS system would be this cars biggest downfall.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

very good car
The car is VERY quiet. Handles very good, although it has 17inch wheels. Plenty of power when needed and going along the hwy uses about 5 litres of fuel per 100kms. Like the auto wipers, lights and mirror. The lights follow the direction of the steering wheel.
Bad things: very expensive to change the oil. The 10 liter container will cost around $140. The radio has no volume that adjust to speed of the vehicle.

No problems so far
So far so good. Haven't had any major problems as I do an enormous amount of driving. A couple of other cars I have owned haven't been able to keep up the pace but this little beauty seems to handle well, which in my line of work is always a blessing.
thanks mazda :)

Love hate relationship
Purchased this car second hand, and it did everything i wanted it to. It just didn't do anything well.
Love the look, love the premium feel & all the features, plus very safe and advanced safety features for the year model.
We did have a few issues, that were all rectified quickly by the company. The keyless entry system needed maintenance, the front door subwoofers needed replacing, fuel average was higher than it said it was, even driving like a grandma, but still much better than petrol equivalent. Road noise is my main complaint though and i don't understand when people say interior room is huge..its tiny!
Despite the growing list of flaws i found in this car, i still love it.

2016 Mazda 6 Touring - Not a bad car but....
I traded my 2001 Millenia (Eunos 800) for this then the Mazda 6. Not a bad car - it's the same size as the Millenia so no complaints about room etc. The ride is not quite as luxurious but I'm getting used to it. My one and only real complaint is the infotainment/GPS system.
1. The system can and will reboot at any given moment. This of course can be rather annoying if your using the GPS.
2. Music will not resume playing after ending a phone call.
3. The GPS will attempt to announce a direction and fade the music to the left side of th...Read more

Very good except for ...
I also have a Mazda MX5, so the Mazda 6 was intended to be a practical vehicle more than a fun car. It is generally driven conservatively but responds well when pushed and handles surprisingly well. I particularly like the electronic gadgetry. Lane departure warning, Blind Spot monitoring, Radar Cruise Control etc which make highway cruising a delight. It is comfortable, well laid out and draws very favourable comments from people who ride in it. Fuel economy is better than my MX5 and a lower grade of fuel also helps reduce running costs.

t has only done approx 24000 kms but they have been trouble free. I have two complaints. One is that the TomTom GPS does not have live traffic updates. The salesman misled me on this point. If I had known it, I would not have bought the vehicle. And the dealer (Hornsby Mazda) is annoying because they continually try to arrange service months before it is due and the 'Next Service' window sticker shows the service is due 2-3 months less than Mazda recommend. In summary, the vehicle has been very good but the purchase and service experience has not.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

PUSH BUTTON IGNITION MAZDAS WITH PUSH BUTTON IGNITION
Tow truck drivers have reported a high level of failure with the push button start ignition switch.
Some tow truck drivers have reported they have had numerous call outs to to pick up these cars .
Owners have been stranded due to the push button ignition failing to start the car.
The inconvenience and towing expenses are a bad refection on this new ignition system.

A SUPERB VEHICLE
I replaced (just ten days ago) my 2013 Mazda 6 Touring with the most up to date 2017 Mazda 6 Touring. The changes to the new vehicle are excellent and the car is a dream to drive. Even though my 2013 vehicle had only done 41,500km without any problems I was keen to update to this latest model. The added safety features are more than a bonus. Reversing camera is definitely sharper than my previous one. The sound system has definitely improved. Leather seats are comfortable for both driver and passengers. I have owned Mazda 626 and various Mazda 6 since 1982 and nothing would induce me to change to another brand as I believe Mazda produces an excellent car which would be hard to beat in this price range.

A car for people who love driving!
Wow! When I got behind the wheel of the Mazda 6 turbo diesel it was an instantaneous bonding moment! This car takes off fast with 420nm of torque coming on at 2000rpm through a dual phase turbo. The Mazda 6 had continually won awards as the best sedan in Australia for the price, so that is why I chose to take it for a test drive, not once but 3 times! I found that the petrol version was sluggish and stodgy, but not so the diesel!
The car has a lot of power, it is very smooth on the road, its handling on winding roads is amazing and fun, its ...Read more
fuel economy is great and the car is a pleasure to drive. Having previously driven a Falcon and a Commodore on the same routes, I am getting over twice as good fuel economy in the Mazda, whilst driving for fun, not fuel economy! On the highways, the car wants to go fast. I believe that 130km per hour is what the car really wants to sit on, but unfortunately that is a bit too high for our road laws. I have had 5 good sized adults in the car several times and the car is quite roomy. The boot is huge. The GPS is great, the Bose sound system with 11 speakers is outstanding, the front, rear, blind spot and rear collision sensors are excellent. The instrument panel and the lay out of the leather interior is outstanding. The only criticism is that on certain road surfaces the tyres are a bit noisy. But for me this car is heads and shoulders above the pack and the best car for my needs. I enjoy driving it every day and am ecstatic that I purchased it! It was the many positive reviews from owners of recent Mazda 6's and the great car site reviews, that got me to look at the Mazda 6 in the first place. My quest was to find the best car to drive under $40,000 and I certainly found it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good driving but bad entertainment/GPS system - it doesn't work properly don't buy
I just bought a Mazda 6 GT for 3 months and I regret it. I bought a brand new car and have paid a lot of money for it. Driving performance so far been good. Mazda’s interior is really nice and I can't complaint, however since week 1 I have problem with the Entertainment/GPS (MZD system). Sometimes the clock don't work it stays as 00:00 and do not move. Sometimes the Bluetooth doesn't work, it doesn't import contact list, can't dial out, sometime the Bluetooth drop off completely while you in a middle of a conversation hence no phone calls c...Read more
an be made. The radio stops working and start working whenever it likes, hence you end up with no music at all. The GPS lady sometime talk to you and sometimes don't, obviously most of the time it doesn't work. I do understand when there's a problem and people are willing to help you fix the problem but the dealership in "Max Kirwan Mazda Preston" is really bad. The service department is not willing to help you at all. I explain to them the problem of my new car and I believe being a brand new car and being their customer they should be there to help me out in regards to getting me a courtesy car with Mazda Head Office but nope, they clearly say it has nothing to do with them if I want a courtesy car while they trying to rectify and fix the problem I have to deal with head office myself. I have never had to dealt with the head office when it’s to do with warranty issue (my previous car was a BMW), the dealership deals with head office on your behalf and that’s how it should be. I'm very disappointed with Mazda as I know this is a wide issue and they are well aware that their entertainment/GPS system doesn't work properly. They should recall their products and shouldn't be putting it into new cars until they can test that it does work perfectly. I spoke to their representative and they try to blame on the iphone how they can't accommodate the new software that iphone come out all the time. They did a software re-install for me at the 1000km service but it still doesn't work. I left a few messages with the Mazda head office and up until now no one have call me back. Very very disappointed I will never buy a Mazda again as I now have to battle to try and get this fix for my brand new car. This is a daily problem for me right now. I do believe that if you buy a new product regardless of the value it should work properly or else money back please.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Beautiful to drive, luxurious comfortable car!
We have recently returned from a cross country adventure from Melbourne to Perth with our recently purchased Mazda 6, this car doesn't miss a beat, if it could it would drive itself. It is very comfortable, the engineering allows the driver to sit comfortably without feeling fatigued. I drove a minimum of 12 hours each day, and got out at the end feeling refreshed, with no aches or pains. The power also designed into this car means there is no effort in overtaking large road vehicles. Fuel economy is exceptional on average 835 klm to the tank...Read more
country driving. There is only 1 annoyance with the car from my perspective is the material used to cover the seats, everything sticks to it and they become hard to clean/vacuum. All in all a beautiful, luxurious, comfortable car.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
