Medela Pump & Save Breastmilk Bags

These milk bags have a double seal making them leak proof, they make storing and expressing milk quite easy. They have a label at the top of the bag so you can easily write the date/amount stored or on the other hand write an expiry of it makes it easier for your family.

These bags are easy to use, don’t take up much room in the freezer and are hygienic. Highly recommend these for all expressing mothers. Also delivery of these was super fast.

In general, I think the design is OK. The marking area on the top is clear and easy-to-write. The volume mark is not very accurate but it is the inherent issue for the milk saving bag.

The price is expensive.

I could not tell the quality of the bag statistically. I can just share my personal experience. Yesterday morning, I took one Medela bag with milk from the freezer and put it in the milk-heater.

The bag leaked miserably. It was not due to the seal but broken at the bottom.
It just ruined my morning and I had to go to work late for this incident

These are a great concept. Little bit expensive for plastic zip lock bags though.
One thing I've noticed is the bags inaccurately measure how much I've expressed. Example- Bag says 100ml, once I pour it into the bottle it's 60ml. This could be a problem if you were to leave the baby with someone and leave what you thought was an adequate feed !

I have the Medela Swing Pump and it is a great pump, but I had always used it with the Medela bottle that came with it. It was no problem, except when I wanted to put milk from two days in the same container I had to transfer the milk from the bottle to a bag then wash the bottle, sterilise and set up the pump. Doesn't sound like a big process, I know, but when you only have a short period of time while your baby is asleep, and you forgot to do this before they went to bed, it's actually a problem.
