Cannot answer your question with no details of the condition of vehicle, service history, etc.,etc.
Somebody needs to have a good look at it and test drive it .
I suggest you have a full assessment by local Motor vehicle assessors and get a comprehensive report on a vehicle of this age.

I need to fit three child seats in the back seat. Is this an option? I was upsizing from a smaller MB, but have realised the back seat width is negligible at 140cm.
Would love to hear some feedback either way. Thanks.

I personally never had to fit child seats however I can guess that two would fit easily but the third one in the middle might be a bit of a squeeze. The answer will also likely be dependant on the size of the child seats in question also.

how would this car be for a family of 5 visiting UK for 3 weeks as a rental car with 3 boys 16, 19 and 21 years old all 6 foot to 6 foot 2 in tall ie. is there enough space for a grown family and luggage. Luggage is only for to and from airport.

The outside rear seats will accomodate taller people because the front seats are indented to allow for greater knee room. However the middle rear seat would be a squeeze for anyone other than a child, largely because of the lack of legroom and the transmission tunnel. There would be no problem with the luggage but in my opinion this car wouldn't be ideal for a big family for 3 weeks because of that rear middle seat. Plus if the driver is tall that seat may have to be further back which will cut down room for that rear passenger.
A (diesel) Ford Mondeo wagon would be better (albeit less luxurious). Hope this helps.
Hi Tony
The rear seats are pretty large my two lads are similar size as yours, three may be a little cramped though. Sounds like you may need something a little larger like SUV or people mover.
