That one wire would be for Brake cut Offs or for a thumb throttle. Unfortunately, we only deal with customers in Australia only i would advise you to make contact with a dealer in the USA

I am waiting for delivery of my bike that was purchased through Amazon. Will I be required to bring it to a bike shop for assembly or is it ready to ride?

Hi there,

Assuming it was delivered just like mine, it was pretty much ready to ride. A few parts needed to be assembled (ie handle bars) but it was a 15 minute job with no professional help required.

Ta,

Pablo.

Unfortunately, we only serve customers in Australia, we cannot advise how the bike is delivered from other distributors it would be best to contact them directly

The thumb throttle makes it so you do not need to pedal to activate the motor.

Great looking bike! Just had a couple of questions before I buy...

1. Is this bike okay to ride in the rain with all it's electrical components etc.? Will riding through puddles/spashes/locking it outside damage the electronics?

2. Is the battery replaceable if a better battery comes out in the future or this one gets worn out?

Thanks!

Hi Nate R, the Greaser is not recommended to be ridden in the rain however if you get caught in a sudden downpour there should be no issues, Personally i would not lock it outside in the weather as it is a beautiful bike and will most likely get damaged if left out in the elements. The battery is easy to replace and spares are available directly from us.

Am I right in saying there is no suspension/ shock absorption on the Greasers even the off-road version? How do the bikes then fare actually in an off-road scenario- I assume they are only good for very gentrified tracks and don’t handle tough terrain at all or not very well?

Hi,

Yes, you are correct although I was not aware there is an off road version. Truth be told I have not done a lot of off road riding- at least nothing that would require suspension. It handles well on grass or the loose stuff to a degree because the over size tyres expand the contactable surface area with the road which inversely effects the pressure you feel riding. The effect is surprisingly noticeable (having ridden both road and mountain bikes as well), the tyre size really effects the ride. I would say though if you are worried about suspension for an offload scenario, this bike is probably not right for you. The Greaser is a cruiser style bike- its relatively heavy and is designed to be more of a daily ride around town/ easy weekend ride along the beachfront etc. Its a very solid build, but offloading is not its forte. Really if you think about it 95% of suspension bikes are never used like the suspension would suggest- its more of aesthetic 'gotta' have. I had similar thoughts while buying it, but by the time I got to ride it I remembered how fun riding a non suspension bike is when riding casually, it actually brings back memories of cruising the streets with my mates as a kid.

I hope this helps.

Hi Brakes,

The GREASER is mainly for "URBAN" use, it can handle gravel roads and dirt pathways and small bumps etc, however it is not the sort of bike that would fair well in an "OFF-ROAD" downhill mountain bike situation.

We designed the GREASER to be aesthetically pleasing to the eye and a real head turner. We also designed the Greaser because the style has a soft spot in my heart :) and it brings back fond memories

If you are looking for a cruiser that snaps necks, the GREASER is the one for you.

How long does the battery last run time

Hi,

I apologise for my late reply, I somehow missed the email alert =/

I am not sure how long it could run without charging. My rides usually are about 20-30km's and I have never got close to running out of juice. I always charge it between rides which is just a habit I am in. I always use the bike on the lowest pedal assist setting which will maximise the battery longevity. Honestly, its great having all the other settings but they are not required for anyone who has even slight fitness or enjoys riding bikes. If you ride a lot (+++) then you may run out of battery, but for the weekly 30 km ride, it won't happen.

You get around 55-60klm out of a full charge, and it takes approx 5-6 hours to charge from flat

Hello, Nottinghamshire, England here. Got my Greaser today, love her but she will not switch on, despite a full charge. Could the ' goodtimes' control panel be faulty or could the battery be in ' sleep's mode? Help please!

Hi Martin,

Firstly i would call the stockist you purchased the Greaser from and explain the issue, IF it does not turn on it could be a few things

1. Faulty "Goodtimes" LCD panel
2. Faulty Controller (The controller is the battery carriage contained behind the tank covers)
3. Faulty Battery

I would HIGHLY suggest contacting your dealer whom you purchased it from and they will need to sort the problem out for you, if it is brand new parts will be supplied by the dealer you bought it from.

I am sorry i cannot answer your question with an exact solution, i would be leaning to the battery being faulty but your dealer can diagnose these issues.

Kind regards

I'm trying to check out the 500 watt range but cant seem to find them. Can you direct me to them and briefly itemise the difference notwithstanding the legalities?

Hi Barto,

When you look at our site there are dropdown menus on each “Greaser” product page.

From here you can select either the 250WATT version Or the 500WATT version.

Link here - https://www.michaelblast.com.au/collections/the-greaser-by-michael-blast

Just select a colour and choose the 500WATT version from the dropdown menu.

Performance differences

250WATT has a factory set speed limit of 25kph to comply with EN15194 certification but can be adjusted in the main settings to 32-36kph if the end user desires this is totally dependent on weight and natural conditions. It also runs a 36V battery and electrical system. And has a range of around 50klm per charge, charge times are between 4-5hrs from fully flat to fully charged.

500WATT is classed as NON-ROAD it does not comply with EN15194, it has a Thumb throttle and also has Pedal Assist ( same as the 250Watt model) so you can use the thumb throttle to speed up etc.

Cruising speed is 40+kph, it runs a 48V battery and electrical system and has a range of 50klm per charge. Charge times are around 5-6hrs

It offers almost double the torque of the 250WATT model and is extremely good with steep hills.

Physically the 250WATT and 500WATT models look identical, when you compare them side by side it is hard to tell which is which.

I hope this has helped to answer your questions, I can guarantee you that what ever model you choose you will be over the moon with the quality and performance.

Cheers
