Cheap cheerful car to get you from A to B
Overall driving experience is nothing to shout about. Main thing is it's a cheap car to buy on the second hand market. I think the suspension is pretty appalling but for the price I suppose I cannot expect top quality. Cheap to run from rego, insurance and fuel efficiency basis.
Purchased in February 2021 for A$5,500.00.

Poor fuel economy, noisy interior.
We bought this car primarily based on the fuel consumption figures. Supposed to be 4.6L/100k combined but in reality on a good day on a highway it gets 5.5L. A massive difference and when questioned on a service, Mitsubishi just say it is within tollerances. Yeah, right. I had a Toyota Echo years ago that had a stickered 5.5L but I consistently got 5.3L and that was when I lived up a mountain. Very unimpressed with the Mirage. I also had to sound proof the front and rear of the vehicle because people in the back couldn't hear people in the fron...Read more
t with the noise. With low cost sound proofing it is so much better. Ultimately at 5.5L+ for level highway driving and an excessively noisy cabin, I vote that this will probably be the last Mitsubishi I will own. Our previous car was a Lancer and again it was a thirsty beast. I have one comment for Mitsubishi - don't lie about your figures! They are just plain wrong and I look forward to returning to Mazda or Toyota soon. If you're looking for a small cheap car avoid this one. It is cheap but it does not deliver on what was promised.

Great car for the money
I picked a Sport manual one of these last week as a city runabout. I think I was lucky to get it for $10,990 on the road with 32kms on the odometer. I was going to get a second hand 5 door Yaris, but for a few thousand more I got this new car with 5 years warranty and fixed price servicing for 4 years.
It is clear this is not a performance car but for my needs, being a city runabout and second car for the family, it is perfect. Loads of relevant features (Bluetooth and audio streaming most relevant) and 5 star safety. The voice recognition e...Read more
ven works every time (which is more I can say for the 2010 BMW I recently sold and the new CX5 I recently purchased). It sips on fuel and achieves about 2L more per 100kms than stated, though it is new and most of my trips are less than 10kms and 20 mins. Before getting this car I test drop the Up!. Very nice car, better to drive and better interior but did not justify the $15,000 for a 5 door. The Alto has a worse interior than the Mirage with a drive to match. The Nissan was very good but $2,000 more with less features. I highly recommend this car to those who need a city runabout that is feature packed and do not want the hassles of a second hand car. You get what you pay for but in this instance you get a lot. Lets not forget that a Chery J1 was only $1,000 less than I paid for this car. Price, features, fuel economy, 5 doors, fixed price servicing. Hard plastics in the interior. No reach adjustment for steering wheel.2 comments
I drove a current 4 door Yaris 400km's from Dalby to the GC, a much better car than the "new Mirage thing" will ever be, actually drove better than the current Prado we drove to Dalby in...
