Good car but
Purchased a 2018 Triton Gls recently. Had a 2016 model that was written off in an accident.
Really liked my 2016 model so went straight back to this model. A good work horse car for my job for the price paid.
A couple of things I find annoying in this model is the reversing camera is poor compared to 2016 model. To change radio station like most car these days you use the arrow on steering wheel, not his model all touch screen.
Find it strange that a newer model car wouldn’t have this when older ones do. Basically have to take your eyes off...Read more
the road ever time you want to change station. Very annoying and unsafe. Tail gate also wouldn’t shut properly but easily fixed by adjusting brackets, which you should have to do on a 40k car. Fuel consumption also average so far coming up to 1500km and need to full car up for a 4th time which seems odd.

BUYER BEWARE - customer service shocking
Bought new triton 2013 - 40,000 ks on the clock. Over heating with numerous breakdowns took us ages to get results finally we got a new motor. Fast forward to 2018 same problem with 2nd motor. Had to basically fight for assistance had fair trading involved they replaced with a short motor but could not tell us why we were having problems . Not confident with this as we has almost been killed several times as the car would only overheat on freeways after several hours and would loose power so travelling 110 km would drop down to 40 km stranded ...Read more
on side of highways with B double trucks screaming past you is something you don't forget. After breaking down 12 times in total we asked for a refund or a new vehicle Mitsubishi claimed that we had aftermarket items on the car and said that they would not deal with us. DIRTY TRICKS......... What type of company would leave us like that we purchased a new car and in less than 5 years had 3 motors. We gave up after 7 months of fighting. We have lost so much money as it was a work vehicle we mentally can not fight any more. Yes they won. I sincerely warn any potential buyer not to buy Mitsubishi !Similar opinion? 2017 MQ VRX (Kiwi Exceed),4x4 Auto
In 2017 the cost was NZ$47K with factory accessories i.e. front nudge, sports and tow bars, bonnet guard, deep floor mud mats, tub liner and soft tonneau cover. It has the 10 year warranty and is serviced every 15,000kms as per the service book.
I commute daily and travel approx. 28km per day. I have fitted an iDrive throttle controller which seems to supress the very dangerous turbo lag on take off from intersections.
The HID headlamps are a let down being a poor design. They wobble about going over bumps, great low beam with good cut off ...Read more
line however the high beam lacks grunt and distance. I fitted a set of LED driving lights to the nudge bar which over came that. For a modern vehicle why it is not equipped with external mirror heaters?Comfortable on the road with stock suspension and original tyres. I run it all the time in ALL WHEEL DRIVE which transforms the handling enormously on windy roads. The fuel economy and tyre wear appear to be normal. With 700kg of grapes in the tub and 4 adults onboard it handled the 300km trip nicely.

Loving the Triton
I use this car for mainly commuting to work (140km round trip), hasn't missed a beat and is quiet comfortable. I've done 45,000km's so far. I recently did a road trip towing a camper van weighing 1.6t, overall combined weight was 4.06t. I started from Geelong around the East coast to Woolongong, through the Blue Mountains and home. I covered 3000km's drove around some windy and mountainous roads. The Triton performed well and exceeded my expectations.
It does have a few annoyances such as Bluetooth phone volume not loud enough, the passenger...Read more

Ordinary at best
2011 Triton was bought to tour Australia, bout it early to have it ready for the big trip it had done 20k Klms around town before we started the preparations to have it ready to go, by the time we left it had 60kKlms and now we are stuck in Alice springs with a blown motor and Mitsubishi have decided the diesel injector was the problem and as such there is no warranty, 98k Klms and all we have is a paperweight, and no way to get back to Brisbane

Great Reliable Little Truck
I have owned my Triton since March 2009. It has been reliable with fuel consumption consistently less than 9 L/100KM and having clocked over 160,000km. It has the 2.4 L Turbo Diesel engine with an alloy trayback and although the engine sounds small it has fantastic torque. I have taken this vehicle through Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory several times and never felt like the truck was going to let me down. The traction system is second to none and is, in my opinion, better than competitors. I also use it regularly to tow my 5 meter boa...Read more
t over various roads including heavily corrugated roads in the middle of nowhere as I search out a new launching for the boat. I am looking at replacing the vehicle in the next couple of years either with another Triton or, due to family reasons, a Pajero, but in either case it will be another Mitsubishi. I would highly recommend the Mitsubishi Triton to any bloke or lady out there who want a reliable vehicle.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good ute
First time owning a DC ute so some of these issues may be common to all. Be prepared for a harsh ride unless it's loaded – I understand the Triton to be the most 'car like', I would hate to spend a lot of time in the others.
As for the Triton, HID Headlights are woeful and shake over bumps – you'll need additional lighting. Passenger seat shakes when unoccupied and you have to tuck the seatbelt flat or it rattles horribly.
Tall passengers in the rear may be very close to the roof.
There is not much information available from the dash and to cy...Read more

Great value but average product
Great value in theory, however felt underwhelming. Made sense on paper, however after driving it for 6 months it felt like a budget vehicle mechanically (undercarriage rattles and turbo lag) and the interior is poor- not much better than a Toyota in terms of quality. Ended up selling in 6 months for a different make.

Worst car I've ever had the displeasure of driving!
This is our work vehicle. It does several hundred km/week.
It is the 2.5L Turbo Diesel RWD model with an auto gearbox. All of that combines to make it the WORST and most dangerous vehicle I've even been in.
At an intersection, this thing is absolutely gutless. Even with your foot flat it can take 4 or more seconds to get to anything more than walking pace. On an uphill incline, it can be twice that and then the turbo kicks in and all you get is wheel-spin due to having no weight at all in the back.
At an intersection in the wet, it can be down...Read more

Best vehicle ever
Have owned other 4x4, my triton is way in front, it has now done 240,000 klm, had a minor issue with airbag light but was fixed, had minot oil leak, turned out to be due to dealer over filling, not vehicle issue, and was fixed, has never missed a beat, im about to buy another, will be keeping my 2011 and handing down the family

Great car, value for money!!
Top 4x4
Test drove all the dualcabs out there,
The triton comes down best value for money. Along with the same quality as a Ranger, Hilux, Navara and Colorado less the extra $15-20,000.

PAINT WORK
After only 5 years my 2014 Triton was red but has faded to a pink. Really dissapointed. $30,000 ute and a cheap paint job. Do not buy red. Does anybody have the best way to renew a 5 year paint job without cutting and polishing to much.
I have a 2000 Mitsubishi sedan darker red it has not faded. They use a paint that has previously been used on a 1999 Model which faded. Very dissappointed.

Don't expect more than what you paid for
It's all the little things that will get to you...
- Windows tend to have vertical scratches after a few months.
- Why did Mitsubishi deem it necessary to have so many high pitched alarms? It beeps when i turn it on and off and the seat belt warning doesn't let up before you are diagnosed with PTSD.
- Doors automatically lock and still operate every time even after this feature is "deactivated".
- Steering wheel buttons are 'seek' and won't track through radio presets, very lazy design.
- Sound system fluffs with a hint of base at f...Read more
