How do I display the speed I’m doing on my navman

Hi Kevin,
To change your map, kindly go to Settings > My Maps > Map Set > select New Zealand. Confirmed that you wish to load the map by selecting "Yes". The device will restart and load the map.

why cant Navman display on their devices like Tom Tom does the speed that you are doing while driving instead of just the speed of road you are travelling on Navman should improve this part for both on their devices like Tom Tom Does Ray
2 answers
I suppose you only get what you pay for, as it has cost me to find out. Navman is just cheap rubbish, with a dull screen and few features, so if you are going to purchase a sat nav it seems Tom Tom is the way to go.
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Ray,
Sorry for the delays and thanks for your query.
The speedometer can be displayed on the map screen. To do it, please see steps below:
1. On the map screen, tap the box on the upper right corner.
2. Select Speedometer units and it will display the speedometer on the map.
Hope this helps.

Hi I've got Navman ezy450lmt in January and there is no voice 5 days already. I updated system and map but nothing has changed. Furthermore I checked several times volume settings, everything is ''on'' but still no voice. What I could do? Thank you
2 answers
Hi Bonnie, unless you are using the route setting, i.e. setting your destination, you will not have voice commands.
Also I use mine on a motorcycle, and it will not connect to my helmet intercom via Bluetooth.
These are not the best navigation tool
Hi, I always set the destination bcs I’m from overseas and completely new in the town. Have no idea what else to do. Yeah, you’re right.

How can I get this unit to display my GPS speed rather than have that stupid (and often inaccurate) speedlimit in that red-circle
1 answer
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Antonio,
When the trip is started, the driving map screen will display the distance and time information which can be seen on the upper-right corner.
To display the speed, just expand the distance and time information and then select "km/h or mph (speed)".
-DTG (Distance to Go)
-TTG (Time to Go)
-km/h or mph (speed) and compass heading
-ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival)
-Time

the volume is very poor, even on full volume I cant hear it inside my car .Windows up, road noise etc impossible to hear clearly making it a hazard .

Sorry Gerard, no answer for that one. Try it on a motorcycle where it won't connect to a Bluetooth headset intercom. :(
Gerald ! get your money back if you can; I returned mine and got a refund; this model is absolute garbage; screen is almost impossible to see even turned up to maximum brightness and the sound is not much better plus the maps are way to small too see especially in full daylight.
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Gerard,
I apologize for you being unsatisfied with the sound quality of the device. If you would agree, we can send your device to us for testing, and if found faulty we can certainly repair or replace the unit with a better one. You may contact us using one of the methods here, and our team would be glad to assist.
We do understand that everyone is different, and what might sound the same to one person, may not sound the same to another.

How do I set my start point on my navman ezy450?
3 answers
Hi, as far as I know, the start point is the GPS location point when you turn it on. You can set your home or any other place as a "home" in saved places. Then just select your destination from where you start your journey.
Geoff.
Geoff is right, your start point is where your GPS is at the time you switch it on' If you want to create a point for your home address so the GPS will take you there, tap on My places and create and save your home address in there and when you are away from home and you want to return home, just tap My places and then you will see a screen with your home address on it and all you need to do is tap on your address and the Navman will then guide you home. You can create as many addresses and save them in My places and just tap whichever one you need to go to; for instance if you go to a particular place regularly you can create the address of that place as well as your home address etc.
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Amanda,
Geoff and JRob are right, always ensure that your device is outside where there’s a clear 360-degree view of the sky to get the GPS signal and detect where your location is. The starting point would always be your current location.
Thanks,
Navman Support Team

Contrast on my unit is terrible, very difficult to read compared to my 350LMT. Is there a fix for this?
2 answers
As far as I know, no. As I use mine on a motorcycle, I had to improvise a sun shield attached with supper glue, but that didn't work to well.
Geoff.
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Darryl,
The device’s screen on the new EZY450LMT device has a matt finish and anti-glare screen which gives it a soft feel. We recommend adjusting the brightness settings to maximum in the daytime and/or try different colour schemes.
To adjust the brightness level on your unit, please follow the steps below:
1. Go to the main menu.
2. Tap on ‘Settings’.
3. Select ‘Screen’.
4. You can then adjust the brightness manually. The unit is set to ‘Auto’ as default. This means that the unit will automatically change from Day to Night mode.
5. You can override the Auto setting by tapping on the ‘Screen Mode’ option at the top of the screen and select either ‘Day’ or ‘Night’ mode.
To change the colour scheme of the map on your unit, please follow the steps below:
1. Go to the main menu.
2. Tap on ‘Settings’.
3. Select ‘Map Display'.
4. Select ‘Map scheme’.
5. Choose the desired colour scheme from the list.
I hope this helps.

I got a new NavmanEZY450LMT last month as a gift we returned it as the battery was always flat even after being charged. We were advised instore it only has a battery life of 3min and this is very normal. Sometimes it won’t even turn on even with a power source. Is this accurate as I am unable to use it unless it is plugged into me vehicle and the cord is always in the way off my steering wheel and gear stick surely for such a superior product this is not standard use????
3 answers
I had the same problem. You should get about 15 minutes from a full charge, there after you need to have it connected via the power socket (cigarette lighter ) in your car. This is the only way to keep it working.
Geoff
Aleisha, I upgraded from a 350LMT to a 450LMT and very disappointed, I would return it if possible for a different brand
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Aleisha,
I am sorry to hear about the issue you have encountered. Technically, the Navman EZY450LMT device is designed to be connected to the car power adapter at all times. The internal battery is not to be used or relied upon as a sole power source, and it is only designed as a backup power source in the event of a short-term power failure/loss from the main power source (cigarette lighter port). Also, it is the user sole responsibility to place the cord, secure and use the device in a manner that will not cause destruction and accidents.
Thanks,
Navman Support Team

I got the ezy450lmt and want to make sure I have the latest maps (since the cd says 2017 au maps). Where do I find the (25 digit?) product key to enter in order to update these lifetime free updates?
1 answer
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi JJT,
The EZY450LMT has built-in free map updates and you don't need a product key to download them.
The latest map version is v18.0954. You may go the link below for the instructions to install the updates properly:

*Note: If it's your first time to visit our FAQ site, you need to select Australia/New Zealand and then click the above link again to be directed to the correct site/page.
Hope this helps. Otherwise, don't hesitate to reach out.

Andy Bakerasked
I am trialing a EZY450LMT because it has voice notifications for safety alerts :-) however the Speed limit data is terrible. It shows 50 in 100 zones and 100 in 80 zones and no data at all in residential streets. I do not want to run "Google Maps" on the phone because we are running a NO PHONES WHILE DRIVING policy in the car, and in South Australia I often get 7 changes of speed limit in 3kms and some signs obstructed so here we rely on good speed limit data. Your old data supplier was great but the later data is terrible. Can we get correct data from your old supplier, I would be willing to pay for it? Or can you dump the new supplier or can I run Hema maps??
Regards Andy Baker
1 answer
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Andy,
I am sorry to hear about the issue you have encountered. While all effort is taken to ensure accurate data, the nature of mapping in Australia/New Zealand means we can not guarantee 100% accuracy. To help you confirm if it's really a mapping discrepancy, we recommend the following steps:
1. Make sure that there is an active route, or you have set a destination on the device to receive accurate safety alerts. Please note that you will only be alerted to the presence of a Speed Camera if the following two criteria are met:
a. Directional – You have set a destination and travelling in the correct direction to be captured by the speed camera.
b. Speed Sensitive – You are travelling a minimum of 90% of the posted speed limit (i.e. 54kph in a 60kph zone).
o When there is no route in place, the device must use a Radius-based estimation as it does not know where the user is planning to go, (i.e. straight ahead? turn right? turn left? etc.) The alerts are based on a proximity hence it will not be as accurate as when a route is entered.
2. Reset the device. You can use a pin to poke the reset hole on the back of the device for 3-5 seconds.
3. Install the latest software and map update.
o To check the software version on the unit, go to Settings, select Help and then About. Get the Build version: 7.60.xxx. The latest build version is 7.60.0244
o To check the map version, go to Settings, select My Maps and then Map Version. Get the Core Mapping version. The latest map version is TomTom v18.0954.
o Please refer here <http://www.navman.com.au/upload/map-installation/auto/main.html> for the steps on how to install the latest software and maps on your device.
Note: Please click each numbered box (from 1-6) for the detailed procedures.
If still the same, we suggest you to report the errors via our map reporting tool here:
AU - https://www.navman.com.au/map-reporter
NZ - https://www.navman.co.nz/map-reporter
Once the discrepancy is confirmed, we report the data to our mapping provider, and will follow up to its resolution. Unfortunately, we cannot change the map supplier on this model. also, the HEMA maps are not compatible with EZY series.
Thank you!

After setting up the device for the first time, it worked perfectly and I turned it off. When I wanted to put it on for the second time, I start by trying to recharge the battery and it appeared to froze with only the "Navman logo" at the top, and "drive safely" were displayed on the screen. I tried turning the device off but was unable to. What can I do? Is the device crashed? Please advice!

I used the Navman for 10 minutes before i returned it as i thought it was not fit for purpose.
With TomTom & Garmin GPS devices i have used, if you press on the on/off button down and hold it down, eventually the device resets and starts and all is OK.
Hope this helps.
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Ellen,
Sorry to know that you're having such troubles. Let me do my best to help. You can try the following steps to fix the problem:
1. Charge the unit for at least:
o 30 minutes using an AC adaptor (5V/2A).
o 1hr via USB to the computer.
o 30 minutes using the car power adaptor with the device turned off.
2. Reset the device by poking the pinhole located at the back of the GPS for 5 seconds.
3. If the unit is still frozen, perform a Smart Recovery using the disc that was supplied with the device upon purchase. This process can only be done using a compatible Windows computer that has a DVD drive. You may CLICK HERE: https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_Faq.aspx?bullid=AllBull&faqid=131466&Region=Australia%20NAVMAN&Language=English%20NAVMAN for the steps on how to reinstall the software on your device.
Hope this helps. Wishing you a Happy Christmas and all the best for the new year.

Does this have overhead bridge heights?
1 answer
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Grant,
It sounds like you're asking if the EZY450LMT has a setting in it where you can avoid bridges not suitable for your vehicle's height. If so, this unit doesn't have such function. You can try other models like Big Rig DUO or Drive DUO SUV as they come with large vehicle assist.

What is the stand by time of the battery supposed to be, as mine goes flat very quick.
Geoff
1 answer
NavSupport A.Navman
Hi Geoff,
The battery is designed as a backup power source for Short-term use. It is not to be used as a sole source of power for prolonged periods, you should get approximately 15-20 minutes life from the battery. For more info about the battery and some tips on how to troubleshoot the battery, please refer here: https://service.navman.com/M0100/F0110_DownLoad_Faq.aspx?bullid=AllBull&faqid=100130253
