Hi!. I recently got the Navman MiVue790. Great device. Have a problem though. At night it warnes me that my headlights are not turned on when they are. There is no troubleshooting in the user manual to guide me in solving this issue. Highly appreciate any solution or aid in this matter. Thank you. King regards. Arthur

Hi Arthur,
Sorry to hear that you are having an issue with your dashcam.
To get the issue rectified, please charge the device for at least 30 minutes via supplied in-car charger or AC charger. Then, while on charge perform a hard reset to the device by poking the reset hole beside the USB port (on the top of the device).
If the problem persists, we may need to update its firmware. To do that, kindly follow the steps from the link below:

I received my MiVue790 today and set it all up.... it works, but it only recorded part of the journey, both going out and coming back home. Only a short journey, but on the way out it recorded one 3 min video and on the way home it recorded 2... which still wasn't the whole journey. 32 gb brand new (and formatted) Sandisk ultra.... camera was on, but the whole journey doesn't appear on the camera itself, or on MiVue Manager on the pc. Thanks for posting your query.
Sorry for the troubles. The problem could be caused by your microsd card. Please use a microSD card that is designed to be used in dash cameras such as SanDisk Endurance series, and Kingston Endurance series. Faulty or incompatible microSD cards can cause your device to not function correctly, may arise problems with the recorded files, freeze, and even cause the device to intermittently turn off or even not power on.

Thanks for your reply. I especially went out and got the SanDisk Ultra, as it's a Class 10, with the little 1 icon....? Anyway, second and third day in, all the appropriate files seem to be there and everything working well. If I have any more issues, I will try a different card. Cheers!!!

Indeed try other card, please. If the microSD card is not an endurance type like, it is more subjectable to early memory failure due to less write cycles and stress with constant recording on memory cells.

We are sorry to hear that your video is in reversed.
For us to properly assist you, may we know if you are referring to the recording screen of your device or just the recorded videos?
For now, we recommend performing a hard reset on the device by poking the shutdown button beside the USB port (on the top of the device) to shut down the device. Leave the device off for 5 seconds then press and hold the Power button to turn it on.
Please also ensure that you are using a compatible memory card. Problem such as this could be caused by a faulty or incompatible memory. More information can be found here:

The screen is reversed.. Can't turn it around, have tired the steps u provided, doesn't work.. BTW memory card is not the issue, as it has been working since I bought it..

You may need to manually disconnect your device from the cigarette lighter as it can get continuous power even your ignition is off. If you wish to utilize the park mode feature, you will need to install a power box such as the MiVue Smart Box hardwired to your car’s battery. My 790/860 turns on for 5 seconds then comes up with low battery turns it’s self off. Very disappointed as it’s 3 days old. It’s been charging for the full 3 days. Should I take it back and get an exchange one.

The MiVUe 790 is a standalone dash cam with no GPS navigation capability.
The built-in GPS tracking will only record the direction traveling, coordinates, date/time and speed information to provide an accurate record of events to provide to insurance companies.
We do have combo devices with GPS and dash cam in one such as Drive DUO 2.0, Drive DUO SUV and Big Rig DUO.

I'll try to post here as I posted elsewhere and got no response,
I have a Mivue 790 which when I download by the app or transfer files the vids lose sound, As I need to deit files with sound this is useless to me.
I have contacted support twice and have been told that this is the way it is !
No more Navman for me if this is the case

Have you tried taking out the micro SD card and putting it in your computer..? I assume that should be the full video file with sound. You can email it to yourself if you wanted to access its via your phone.
No I haven't tried that but it's worth a go

We have a movies 790, problem we have is
It worked fine for a couple of days, now it is continually bringing up speed camera alerts, in the red circle it reads 255??.dose it think I am doing this speed,
Tried re set with the pin hole etc and same problem, O h but occasionally it reverts to normal, extreme disappointment as we bought the camera last week and are now on our road trip which is what we naught the camera for, please any clues. Reg Dean

Does the dash cam record continuously so you can go back to recall an event or is it on a cycle and over rides

It records in intervals thar you can set. I think the default is 3 min intervals. The older footages are overwritten depending on the size of the SD card you use. Footages when an event/incident occurs as detected by the dashcam will be saved in a different folder which won't be overridden. I (unfortunately) had a first hand experience of this working when I had an incident a couple of months ago.

Hi Ron,
Sorry for the delay. For a normal/continuous recording, you may set the length of the video clips to 1 min, 3 min or 5 mins. To set this, you may go to Settings > Video Recording > Video Clip Length.
The recording may be divided into several video clips but rest assured that the recording will not stop between video clips. When your memory card fills up with continuous recordings in the "Video" category, it will automatically record over the oldest existing files in this category.
By default, if an event happens such as a sudden impact, high speed driving, an aggressive turn or an accidental crash during continuous recording, the G-sensor will prompt the dash cam to start recording the event.
If you want to manually start an event recording while continuous recording is in progress, tap the warning icon on the bottom right corner of the recording screen.

It has a 2MP Sony Exmor sensor camera. The footages are pretty good. You can also take photos of any part of the video recordings when you view this in your computer using mivue manager.
