Great Service, Attention to detail
NHI team were always pleasant to deal with and our inspector Andrew was very detailed at what he does and did it exceptionally well. I would be more than happy to recommend the service to anyone.

Peace of mind
Great communication and their services will help to get us to understand what is missing with our build and push builders.
It is bit hard to book if you give them 3 days notice even though it says 3-5 days notice. But again they are busy beacuse of their service i guess.
recommended.

Quality service
Excellent. Have already recommended to friends that are starting their build. The office was very professional and organised and our inspector Bill was tremendous. We couldn’t have had our dream home built to the standard it is without him. Definitely worth the money when you’re spending big bucks on a house in an industry that is always trying to cut corners.

Absolute Fail
I engaged the services of new homes inspections to do an inspection on my new build. there was no liaison between my ss and the inspector by this company and an appointment was made. i received an email stating appointment has been made with ss. I got a call from the inspector saying, he's on site and he cannot inspect as fascia and gutters were not installed and for that reason he could not inspect the frame. I knew there will be a charge so i asked inspector and he said $120. I later got an invoice for $360 which i feel is very unfair and a big bill for doing nothing, as he could have at least inspected some part of the frame which was completed for that amount. Terrible service and i will never recommend company to anyone.

& Conditions. In that email we advised the following: "We strongly suggest that for your own reference and peace of mind you continue to confirm with your builder/site supervisor that the works will be ready to be inspected at the time booked as in the unfortunate event that your job is not ready to be inspected, or needs to be rescheduled/cancelled within 1 business day of your booking time, you will incur an inspection cancellation fee of 60% of the booked inspection fee to a maximum of $360:00 as per clause 14 of our Booking Confirmation. While you will be responsible for this cancellation fees to us, it may in some circumstances be recoverable from your builder if you have actually confirmed the inspection with them, however we make no assertion that it will be and that would remain a matter between yourself and your builder.Similar opinion? Essential
New Home Inspections were recommended to me by a close friend. I can now also recommend using New Home Inspections for any new build. They were highly professional and whilst I have some practical knowledge of building they identified many issues beyond my knowledge that required correction. In doing so they also advised on the impact the issues would have on the build. I used them for all stages of the project and have no doubt they have saved me money as well as given me peace of mind throughout. My building supervisor often commented on t...Read more

Peace Of Mind
Our inspector was very punctual and very polite. He was very thorough with his report. And extremely helpful. As we didn't know about what the codes are that our builders were suppose to follow. So to know that our inspector did was great so our builders couldn't argue the matter with us. I recommend an independent inspector to all people who are building their home. If I knew any sooner I would off started from the beginning of the house with the inspector.

Will use these guys every time!
From start to finish, everything was explained in a succinct manner about their services and how the inspections are done. They followed up to emails in a very prompt and professional manner. When it came to the actual inspections, the inspector was helpful, friendly and of course knowledgeable about all aspects of what they were checking. Our inspector (Paul) was brilliant, he had his reports done the same day, which was really convenient. Our inspector also had no issues with liaising vide email to discuss and answer any questions we had, whi...Read more

Don't build without New Home Inspections
Having not built before we engaged Kevin from New Home Inspections for a Building Contract review. They completed the building contract review and highlighted areas to change in our building contract which saved us $1,000's later.
After each stage New Home Inspections would visit our site and produce a detailed report with photos which could be 8-10 pages. From this we would present this reported to our builder to address the issues raised.
We would not have a clue as to all the items listed in the report from framing not braced as detailed i...Read more

Recommended to us by a rental agent, and now by us as customers
Being interstate and unable to travel to view our new-build investment property, we sought a recommendation for an independent building inspector. Our rental agent recommended New Home Inspections and we were not disappointed. Their communications are always excellent, their reports thorough, and I truly believe without their expertise some key issues would have been missed that are now thankfully rectified. I will definitely use them again if needed.

Value for money is an understatement!
New Home Inspections was a last minute decision and we are very happy that we did.
Our building company assured us (as most will) that they have their own internal and external inspectors and we don't need to worry about getting our own, but the project cost to cost of getting New Home Inspections to do a walk through at our New Home Inspection presentation appointment was gold!
Every inspector sees things with a different eye or approach, yes they all see the door gaps, handles, jams, squeaks and plaster damage, but its the stuff you can...Read more
't see that our inspector pulled them up on. We had 90% of the obvious stuff, the superficial damage, but we had none of the structural, building material or building code stuff. There were tile cuts and chips we missed, ducted aircon stringers (supports) not to code, insulation out of place, data cables crossing over electrical, dints and scratches on windows we hadn't noticed, seals, caulking, etc, etc. Then there was the ceiling beams that had sagged (no one saw it but them!), the stairs not square, the render V-line to prevent cracking, the weeps holes needed cleaning out and weeps holes that needed mortar. If you can't afford the time or money (which is nothing in terms of the overall project and build cost), you shouldn't be building! You need to engage New Home Inspections to give you peace of mind if nothing else.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

definitely have home inspection from slab to final stage.. its worth it!!!
We are so thankful we had Tim from home inspection with us through out our inspection with the builder. They were so helpful and made you feel safe whilst the builder is rushing you during the walk thru. Providing a large amount pages of minor and major things that we wouldnt pick during the inspection is just worth having those guys with you. You would save thousands afterwards. We highly recommend them to any of you who is in the process of building from slab to Completion.

Extremely happy with New Home Inspections
Best decision I made to use New Homes Inspections.Out of all the Inspections companies I spoke to they seemed to be the most knowledgeable.I had a very positive experience using New Home Inspections, my friend who is now building her own house is using them as well as she seen how good my experience was with them.It didn't matter who I spoke to from the company whether it was the receptionist or the inspectors they were all happy to give me advice & guidance with any issue I had.I was very surprised & very grateful when I was having a issue wit...Read more
h my builder regarding handover that the big boss of New Homes Inspections got involved & gave me some advise on how to handle the issue.I was also very grateful to the inspector who stood up to my builder & defended my rights when my builder was trying to get me to take his word over the inspectors word regarding defects.I am so happy I chose to use New Home Inspections, as I don't understand anything about building a house I would never have picked up the defects that the inspector picked up on my house. The inspector was happy to answer any questions I had & trust me I had some really stupid questions that I asked.I would definitely recommend New Home Inspections for anyone building a new home & I would definitely use them again If I ever chose to build again.Similar opinion? Inexpensive investment for peace of mind.
We engaged New Home Inspections during our recent new home construction and suggest it is the only way to go. The building company we used have their own "independent" inspectors but how independent are they when the majority of their work comes from the one building? We had a very good experience during the build which is great but having New Home Inspections their looking out for our best interest was very comforting. NHI have been very professional, courteous & reliable and I thoroughly recommend them.

Wouldn't build without them
We used New Home Inspections years ago when we built our first house and were lucky to have had a great builder. For peace of mind we used them again to check each stage of our latest build before signing it off. A few thousand dollars ($400-600ish at each stage) could save tens or hundreds of thousands down the track.
Their service ensures that critical mistakes aren't made or covered up later, by checking your actual building against your engineer's plans, manufacturer's guidelines and Australian standards. No build is flawless, and the NH...Read more
I reports are very detailed, and it's up to you to decide what you'll accept and what you'll hold your builder to. The reports are include photos each defect, with descriptions and prescribed rectifications that can be read by a layperson. If you aren't comfortable talking to your builder, or your builder insists their work is perfect, NHI provide fair telephone advice and will act as an intermediary between you and the builder if you need them to. Once any defects have been rectified you can have them out again to check that the work is up to scratch, or simply ask them to check the rectified items when they do your next stage inspection. No home is 100% defect-free, but even if it was, I think the peace of mind is worth it. We wouldn't build without them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Fantastic service! I plan to use them everytime I build!
I have been a fan of New Home Inspections for the last 9 years.
I used New Home Inspections for my first house 9 years ago which was built by Carlisle with an idiot of a supervisor. Serious issues discovered with the slab and framework were fixed and when the build was escalated to the regional supervisor, Kevin was able to work with the new supervisor to get my house up to scratch.
I am now onto house #2 and this time I have invested in the whole package: slab pre-pour with follow-up, framing, plaster, the optional waterproofing and I ...Read more
have just finished up with the pre-handover (follow up to be booked soon). I will never build a house without an independent inspection as the extra expense is tiny compared to the headache of fixing these issues later down the track.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Money Well Spent
Both myself and my daughter are building our houses at the same estate at the same time and have initially questioned the necessity of engaging a private building inspector during the build. After speaking to a few friends and at the recommendation of a building inspector who works for a few major surveying companies, we decided to engage New Home Inspections. Yes, it cost more than $2000 for all 4 main stages inspections, sounds a lot money but when compared to the cost of the house, it is small sum. We are now into Pre-Plaster stage. Up to t...Read more
his stage, all we could say is our money well spent, totally worth it. Our inspector Paul is fantastic and really helpful, he even go out of his way to help settle some disputed issues with our builder. The amount and type of defects picked up will avoid future problems which will not only cost more than $2,000 to rectify, there will be lots of headache and stress too. We have now decided to include also Fixing/Waterproofing stage inspection. Thanks Paul, thanks New Home Inspections.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi Guys,
I am thinking to engage your services for my build, what do you have to say about a review left above by Chilli ? That totally defeats the point of independent inspection when your employed inspector dont care about their work ?

We found them wonderful. Like the whole building process, the relationship you can build with everyone else in the process is the biggest thing. It's your dream home and yes it will require a lot of time and effort to make it happen. Absolutely zero concerns with NHI. They find the issues and its up to us to discuss and find resolutions with our builder so everyone is happy.
