NexGard Chewables Red (25-50kg)
The ticks in my area are very bad so when my vet suggested this for my 8 year old rottweiler, I happily agreed. Within 12 hours of the first dose, she had a brief bout of diarrhea. Then, 1-2 weeks later, more diarrhea with blood. I didn’t connect the dogs and gave her a second dose. Within 1 week of her second dose she had severe bloody diarrhea and stopped eating. Shortly after that, she started vomiting and could not keep down more than 1-2tsp of food, and was very lethargic. After a 2-day stay at the veterinary hospital she is almost ready to come home, but I will never give this to my dog again. Before starting NexGard, she never had any health or GI problems.

This drug for flea and tick has been pulled from the USA market due to adverse reactions. I have my greyhound just one of these and she had diarrhea (the worrying kind) and blood in her stools. I am off to the vet with her this morning (a new vet - who has said they do not recommend this drug to their customers). As opposed to my old vet who pushes this as better than using flea and tick on the coat - more modern I was told. The reactions that some dogs can have are neurological in nature and also can eventually cause death. I stress - do not use this drug on your pets.

This morning I found my dog dead after having given him a 1/3 chewable pill 3 days ago. Nextgard should be removed from the market. It's pure poison for dogs

My dog is a 6 year old female spayed pit bull brindle mix and she had always been a healthy dog. She has always taken Comfortis but at her annual check up recently her vet suggested that I give her NexGard to due an uptake in tick cases in our immediate area. After a week of giving my dog the NexGard pill she started breaking out in hives and her left eye started to swell. I thought she may of ate something off the ground but than her condition worsened. She was vomiting every night and shaking like crazy. I took her to the Vet Emergency and $1...
Read more800 later they couldn’t figure out what was causing her to have a fever and vomit. They gave her an ultrasound, X-ray, blood test and they couldn’t find nothing. I’m very fortunate that she still wants to eat but she is not drinking a lot of water. I have been feeding her boiled white chicken breast and white rice and I pour chicken broth and she seems to drink that. Taking her to the vet today to get checked out. Hoping for the best.Purchased in February 2021 for $25.

Our precious dog became seriously ill soon after taking one dose of Nexgard. We didn’t think he was going to survive & euthanasia was offered as an option because he didn’t seem to be responding to treatment.
He's no longer in a critical condition, but remains seriously ill and we don't know what the future holds.
Numerous tests are inconclusive and we've been referred to a specialist centre.
Our dog suffered many of the symptoms described here, and like many, soon after taking Nexgard.

Read morer to dismiss and even ridicule those speaking out, by labelling our experiences & concerns as "social media frenzy" - "anecdotal and unscientific” to discourage you from taking these reviews seriously. Diminishing these reviews as rare, cannot minimise the catastrophic consequences for those suffering a reaction. Nor are all the reactions as mild as they claim. I don’t have proof that Nexgard caused my dog's condition. But here are the indisputable facts. FACT:- Prior to Nexgard my dog was happy, appeared healthy, walking, normal stools, eating, drinking & playing.Purchased in December 2020.
For 15 months we gave our Siberian Husky Nexguard Spectra on the advice of Jervis Bay Veterinary Clinic NSW Australiathe Seizures were so very terrible that “ Tzar “, is now on 100mg of Phenobarbital per day.
We never used it again. He’s 3 in Jan 2021. And we now visit Bomaderry Veterinary Hospital in Bomaderry NSW Australia.
He is now reduced to 50mg per day for the last month.
You need to pull your product from sale immediately. Seriously, I mean it . It’s toxic. And made my baby very very sick. You have cost us thousands of dollars and emotional pain. And I know it’s nextguard,
Even the vet said it was most likely

My Cavalier days after giving him tick and flea nexgard started with severe diarrhea. After a few days took him to the vet ER vital signs were good. Thought perhaps backend was weak from so much diarrhea. He now can hardly walk. I will take him to our own vet ASAP. I sure hope he returns to normal. I am very afraid of all this!
This should be taken off the market!

Franny is her name. She had no health issues till Nexgard was given. She was very lethargic at beginning for about six days, appetite was fine, then she started bumping into walls and objects in her path, took her to vet and then animal hospital where they found out she couldn’t see out if her right eye. Took her to an eye center where they ran some tests in both eyes, concluding that she had lost vision on her right eye and had limited vision on left one, the test showed the eyes being fine though. Now she’s very depressed, peeing in the house and walking aimlessly all day. Next stop is the neurologist who agreed this medication is a POISON. We’re hoping for the best outcome but her health is declining rapidly

My 78 pound mixed breed dog had two doses of NexGard without a problem. The third time he had terrible anxiety for over a week and then had a grand mal seizure. Over time he has recovered. My other two dogs had no reaction. One out of three is not acceptable. Beware of this product. I'm still waiting for these chemicals to completely leave his system before my vet and I are sure he's ok.

My young Labrador did not want the chew. Had to mix it with treats and force him to eat it. Since then he has lost appetite, and losing hair from constant itching. Have read other reviews and shocked by the potential damage/death caused by Nexguard spectra. Dangerous product.

I have never had a flea problem like this with a topical flea control. I’m being bitten and have found a flea on me. My husband is being bitten and last week the woman who helps me clean was bitten. This product doesn’t work!

My 2 year old Boxer was literally infested with eggs, ticks and fleas. They were groups of them on him and he would not allow me to touch him for longs periods of time. Neither frontline nor K9 advantix worked. I decided to try Nexgard. Within 24 hours they had all disappeared but 2 that were stuck in between his paws. The 2 I removed we're dead and we're "dry". Would definitely recommend, I have not seen any negative signs, but always keep an eye on my pets to in case of side effects.
