2011 nissan navara d40
I had some serious problems with my brakes at around 50,000km. I took it into nissan service asked them to look at and told them what was wrong. The end of the day i came back and they said it was all fine to take home. I didnt believe them so i could them for a ride in it and slammed on the brakes and at that moment my car was made un road worthy and couldnt be on the road. They were about to give me a car where the brakes werent working and still made me pay for the service.

Clutch Replacement
Purchased New 2012 Navara 4X4 D40, after 20,000 klm had to replace clutch at my own expense. $3000. Was informed by the dealer that I shouldn't reverse vehicle with trailer up an incline. The vehicle/clutch could not handle the stress. The incline was 20 metres long with a 15% gradient. I did that 3 times. Nissan's attitude was pathetic. Said it was my fault, I didn't know how to drive a manual; even though I have been driving manuals for 40 years. It is one of their standard replies on the clutch failure problem. It is clearly a design/manufa...Read more
cturing fault. The vehicle is probably great if you are towing a skate board. You only have to Google "Nissan Clutch Problems" and there is list of complaints from buyers all over the world and from vastly different professions. This vehicle was purchased for a specific purpose after getting the dealers assurance that it would handle the towing of my trailer app 600kg easily. Talk about being deceptive and misleading. My previous vehicle a Toyota Aurion towed my trailer easier than the Navara. Never ever again

Nissan Navara D40 RX D/C ute
In 2010 I purchased my RX ute, and whilst less than happy with the Dunlop tyres, and the dealers response. The Dealer, was claiming the old "not covered" but the car had been back for two services and rectification of a minor problem. I asked if anyone had even noticed, that, after only 11,000 k's, the front tyres were bald, from the inside out. Wheels out of alignment, not our problem, wasn't our responsibility to check. Even the dealer principal said "not her problem"
But I digress, this car was the best driving most reliable car I have ever...Read more

2013 D40 Excellent car
I purchased this vehicle in December 2013, eight months later it has 20,000 klm's on the clock so is barely run-in. The engine is very quiet, quieter than the wife's X-Trail and seems to have more grunt. The throttle is very responsive and has not hesitated to get up and go when required to. Friends of mine with Toyota 4.2 and V8 diesels can not believe that this is a bog standard 2.5 litre car. It is fantastic on fuel usage and comfortable to drive. Mine is an auto, after many manual Nissan 4X4's I decided to get lazy and i am not disappointed...Read more
with that decision. My two complaints would be the headlights are woeful, not much improvement on a candle in a beer bottle. I have fitted Cibie Supper Oscar 55w HID driving lights and this is an improvement but I think I will still have to do the same to the headlights. At a cost of roughly $250 fitted it is not too bad. Second issue is the quality of the paint. It is very soft and marks way too easily for a 4X4 should. Other modifications to be done are the addition of a Icom UHF, a reversing camera as it is a long vehicle and rear vision when parking is hit and miss, so far all misses but I want to keep it that way and some tinting on the windows. I am considering a tub liner as well as the soft cover is not particularly water proof and I am of the thinking not very good where the red dust is concerned (hope to confirm that this time next year when we tow an off-road caravan across the Great Central Road or the Simpson. I have been happy in the past with my Nissan 4X4's and this is no exception.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Nissan Navara Silverline SE 6sp Manual
Well got myself the new 2014 Nissan Navara Silverline SE 6sp Turbo Diesel and also got added a ARB Canopy, excellent choice that was makes the car look completely different than stock. I love it drives smooth and has the power to get up and go when needed.
I've heard a lot of people have had problems with Navara's ( old or new not 100% ) but I think it is really on how you treat and look after your car.
This is my first Navara I've owned was always Patrols but these days to buy a new one too bloody expensive. Value for money Navara's are the best option on price and still being a 4wd.

D40 2010 clutch failure
I have exactly the same driveway as Wayne M,,,, described and my clutch has just gone due to reversing my trailer but with mine ive got 120,000kms on the clock !!! Its got no get up go in that clutch it would heat up and struggle. This car is simply not made for towing I think a $2000 commodore would last longer in the clutch department, wont be buying another. :(

Great horse but definitely no thorough bred
Had over 1 year. Already punching 60000 kms. Very very good. Problems are sloppy turbo. Very sloppy turbo and stoppers on steering arms. It needs the chip and suspension upgrade and u back in business.

D22 STR Best Value and Toughest 4wd Ute under 50K
We have had plenty of 4WD's Landcruisers and Nissans. The D22 STR is bloody tough workhorse, which meets the Brief for Tradies and Farmers and their bloody cheap at 27K. It's easy to knock but don't compare it to a Hilux which is 55K, it's unfair and to be fair when your up to your armpits in mud, there is not a lot of difference, oh except the humble D22 tows 2800 Kgs, Hi Lux 2500, Prado at 65K 2500, V8 Cruiser 3500kgs 100K plus. Service regularly they are a great work truck. You get what you pay for, but these D22's are a bargain.

Best choice: 2013 D40 RX
I purchased my 2013 Nissan Navara D40 RX brand new and like many people I was a bit concerned about my purchase when reading the reviews on this site. I could not be happier with its performance, reliability and economy. I paid $30,490 brand new/drive away which is a bargain for what you get kit wise and interior space. Base model with vinyl floors but is great when you have kids. Fully loaded with roof pod, basket and a tray of camping gear for 3 weeks up far North Queensland averaged under 10L/100km the whole trip with 6 speed manual. Took it to Fraser Island and the only issue I had was clearance. Solved with TJM 2 inch lift and is now unstoppable. Have to say I'm happy with this vehicle and particularly the value for money.

D40
Can't say enough good things about my D40"s. Yes 2. I bought the v6 diesle for towing a three horse float and the power, comfort is amazing, not one problem since we bought it. I purchased a 08 D40 2.5lt for a off road vehicle and so far even with 170000km on the clock not one problem. I have heard a lot from people saying how bad they are but they seem to be people that own different vehicles and have never driven or owned a navara.

What a shame
Purchased the car in 2009. I look after the car and in the 5 years of ownership have only done 30,000k's. The car roof rusted in two places which leaked into the interior and caused significant damage during a rain storm. Nissan acknowledged the problem however only offered to contribute a small portion of the $7,500 repair bill. When buying secondhand check the righthand rear roof gutter for rust as this is common in most D40 vehicles. Similar problems as stated in earlier reviews regarding, door handles, cracked interior, broken window guides, cruise control breaking etc. was an issue with my car also. Feeling very disappointed with Nissan in general after my experience.

Nissan Navara ST 4 x 4 Spainish model
we purchased our vehicle second hand with 16000kms on the odometer and we have had the vehicle for 12 months now. This vehicle doesn't miss a beat and has been reliable on and off the road. After market accessories for the vehicle can be expensive so i would recommend if you do buy this vehicle new you do a deal when you purchase it. To fit a soft cover over the ute tray it will set you back about $800.00 (just and example) there are a few ways to gt a dual a duel battery setup, the best one I have seen is mounted in the tray. You can't mou...Read more
nt these under the hood so I have been told, so for those avid 4x4 people out there this maybe something to consider before purchasing. i have read a few negative reviews about this ute but so far I have had stress free travel. There are 2 models of Narvara, the Spanish and Taiwanese, ensure you buy the Spanish as it has the better reputation. Keep in mind that the ute off the floor comes with standard road tires, can't work this out when it's a 4x4 but if you don't go off road they are a great tyre. I did a side wall in one on a standard dirt road, mind you the road was a little rough in areas and rocks on the road weren't pebbles and I was doing 80 - 90kmph. Great for towing, I read a few negative reviews about these vehicle twisting chassis etc, I think if you stick with in the 3 tonne towing capacity you wont have an issue.Similar opinion? I got mine fixed at ABS in Canberra for $1,700 they were good with advise and work, best way is to get rid of that dual mass flywheel and put in a kit so next time you are only paying for the clutch plate kit
