Oil Leaks.
1st leak was the Transfer Case, end result was replace half of the Transfer Case.
2nd leak was found during a service, where one of the rear axles was leaking.
3rd leak which i have just found is coming from the top of the motor somewhere. I had the Nissan car assit come out ( which is the racv ) and he thought it maybe the turbo.
It has done 70000 klm and has been a good ute, but back to Nissan we go .

Worst car in thirty years
ST-X purchased June 2016. Trouble started day one with the tonneau cover being incorrectly fitted by Nissan and coming lose on a long trip. Nissan tried to blame me and said it must be an aftermarket fit although the tonneau cover was part of the original new car buy. This was followed with tailgate latch jamming repeatedly and being told it was a known problem which had not been fixed. On two occasions we had smoke from under the bonnet due to oil dripping on the hot engine, Nissan replaced the pipe from the turbo charge to the engine. Nissan ...Read more
are aware of this issue and is a problem with the series. After the first months we experienced a flat spot during acceleration which we were told was because we didn't know how to drive an automatic although I have been driving since 1971. On two occasions Nissan reset the computer to overcome the "flat spot". On the way to Stanthorpe we experienced strong front end vibration and had the wheels checked and balanced in Stanthorpe with no change in front end vibration. On the same trip the ABS brake system failed and had to be repaired by RACQ in Stanthorpe. The final straw came when driving from Canberra to Cooma and we started to get the smell of fuel in the car. A week later, in June 2018, we got rid of the car with 59,000km on the clock and warranty remaining. Sadly when you contact the Nissan Help Desk in Melbourne the first comment made by the person answering was "it's not our fault and we accept no responsibility". Without a doubt the most un-helpful "Help Desk" I've ever spoken to.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great ute for me
Great ute upgraded the shockers with Bilstein’s that made a huge difference to ride and handling fitted a canopy very happy but expensive to service and a little advice drop the tyre pressure to 32front and 30 rear makes a lot nicer drive if ya not carting a load 20000 in 7 months and still happy

4x2 DX Navara NP300 two thumbs up
Had a 4x2 since end of 2015, it's been a great run about with no problems at all, they sent a recall a little while ago, something to do with the computer not registering a fault with the o2 sensor. All fixed with a quick trip to the dealer,
Drives great, quiet inside the cabin considering it's a base model, also safety, Bluetooth, cruise control, reasonable fuel economy, it no race car but does the job admirably, gears were notchy a bit when new but have now settled in to the selector nicely, first gear could have been a bit taller but bigger wheels fix this a make it more on pace through the gears.

New Car Rust - Denial
This is what you get when you buy a new Nissan Navara RX (4x2) SC - Rust in an area where no one looks.
A week after I bought the Navara on 12/01/18 I saw some adverse reports on rust issues with Nissan and decided to take a closer look only to find rust inside both front wheel arches. I booked it in for a check at Aspley Nissan and was told that all new cars have rust. I immediately notified Nissan Gladstone where I bought it from and asked for a new vehicle without the rust or a refund. I then sent Nissan Aust. the photos and was asked if...Read more

Comfy for a cab chassis
The best turning circle eva no horrid noise in full lock! The interior is awesome very car like., all the bells and whistles and mine is the standard 2x4 DX, plenty of legroom and power windows. l highway travel to work 40 km so I set the cruise control and do a tank of fuel in 6 days.it lacks get up and go when towing a reasonable load so being a 6 gear petrol traveling in 6th is awfully sluggish. Bit all n all I love my ute. Thank you Nissan

Best economy I have had.
I always had Falcons before but this np300 is the most economical car I have had. My best economy was from Langwarrin to Korumburra and back, I did 6.3 litres per 100 km over about 160 km.
Driving mostly around Langwarrin and Frankston, I average less than 10 litres per 100 km and that's short trips to bowls and school trips for my granddaughter.
I've only just reached 20,000 km in 2 years.

Has a lot of bad design "features", not recommended
RX twin Cab
7000km in
Really basic interior
Horn sticks out too much and is bumped with parking/turning
lack of features like reversing camera etc, pretty basic stereo
km to empty gauge stops giving you info when you are around 80km of fuel left
600-700km per tank of fuel - normally 600km
stereo volume jumps are too wide its either too loud or too quiet
AC under powered on hot days
Heater takes forever to heat up

Very disappointed with ute - Buyer Beware
Purchasing a ute with expected 30,000km per year in mind, fuel economy, service intervals and tank capacity were paramount in the selection criteria. So not only was the initial purchase cost important but the ongoing running cost.
The Navara RX Single Cab Chassis ticked all the boxes on paper, but on the road it fulls well short and very much a disappointment.
BUYERS BEWARE
The claimed 6.4l per 100km is not possible, I am currently seeing (at best) 7.2l per 100km. To qualify: I drive 130 each day between home and work 110km on motorwa...Read more
y will little or no traffic, the other 20km are on surface street but again outside peak congestion, so there is no excuse for stop-start traffic/driving affecting the fuel economy. Because I log-book the ute, the economy is based on actual km driven against actual fuel bought, not based on read-out in ute. The Nissan Navara has a claimed fuel tank of 80 litres, unfortunately the tank records empty at about 65 litres. The tank capacity is actually 80 litres however the sensor is poorly designed and gives a wrong warning, what this means is that you must drive for about 20-25% of the tank capacity "on empty" with no idea of when you will actually run out, or likewise you need to fuel more often. The intention to buy this ute was that based on tank size and economy it would be possible for me to only need to fill-up every 2 weeks. As it stands and for safety i am filling up more often that I desire. Since buying the car I have found numerous feeds about this matter that is known but Nissan appear to place no importance to rectify.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Very happy
Have done about 6000km's and am very pleased with the car.
Extremely comfortable to drive especially on highway and has effortless acceleration. Have had fuel economy to 6.4l/100km freeway/highway trip. Consistently sits at 7.5l/100km for mixed driving (both from car calculation). Getting about 200km /tank more than previous car Triton diesel using identical amount of fuel. Yes the fuel gauge comes on a bit early but hasnt caused me any issues.
A few little niggling things
1. Think air con on/ off switch would be better located at temperatur...Read more

LOVING MY NP300
Have had my np300 for 2wks and im really impressed, I wasn't sure about a diesel car after having xr6 turbo but it has plenty of torque and it suits me as I am a gardner and tow every day.
Fuel has been around 9.5l/km towing around town compared to my xr6 which was 18.9l/km. I find it rides even better with load on, don't even notice tralier.
Build quality seems very good, no squeaks or rattles...doors seal well no wind noise and tyres are quiet.
Radio is good and i like the nissan connect app, but would be great if more than 1 app ava...Read more
