Hi there
I have a 2006 pathfinder and I’ve noticed the front passenger floor is soaking wet and I can’t find out where the water is coming from . Its only on that side . I’ve dryed it out and it just keeps happening. Any ideas what it could be ?

It would be From the A/C

Had the same issue but fixed it. It is likely an A/C issue where the water from the condenser doesn't quite go out the tube that you can see in the engine bay. I had to add another inch of tubing so the water did not run back into the passenger foot well. Easy fix.

I'm not actually sure about that. Mines embedded in the dash but I'm sure a professional could remove it. Maybe check with an auto elec?

If you watch this video, it shows you clearly and easily how to remove the head unit. I bought a motion bypass from the USA but the plugs were different to the Aus delivered head unit. You may want to check it is the same.

Hi Sali64 I used several R51 Pathfinders as my work vehicle (as well, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 models) doing plenty of off road driving, what I found although comfortable and suitable none matched the early 2005/2006 version as more electronics were used in later models. Not a bad thing but the risk of not being able to fix things in the middle of nowhere increased. So a lot depends on what you intend to use the later models for. I've just come back from a off road trip and the only vehicle that failed was a 2017 V8 Landcruiser, which you would expect it would be indestructible (?) and it failed just on corrugation roads which stirred up dirty fuel in the tank and blocked the fuel lines and filters. (apparently a common fault with those vehicles). So what I'm saying if you intend heavy off road work it all depends on driver ability and vehicle maintenance as any vehicle will break down if not looked after. Suggest get vehicle with minimal modification, if any and set it up to your specifications. It may cost more but you will know what has been done. I use mine for desert, beach, fire trails and some rocky work and towing, yet my modes are small compared to others. It gets me there and back home again and all in comfort. Good luck with your purchase decision, but get it checked out by a mechanic first. They make excellent tow vehicles, but fit airbags in the rear coil to assist in levelling the vehicle.

I'm after info on the number of teeth on the input shaft of my R51 Nissan Pathfinder (MY2008). I'm led to believe it's either 24 teeth or 30 teeth, but not sure which one...

I'm looking at implanting an LS3 V8 with 4 speed Automatic transmission and my supplier of adaptor components needs to know which adaptor kit to send me to adapt the the 460LE automatic that comes with the LS3 to my Pathfinder 4WD Transfer Case (either24 tooth or 30 tooth input shaft).

Please help?

Mine has done 295k and is faultless. If it has been off road then be weary as that is what wears things out. So that would be a question. Usual questions would be around service history.

I purchased a2006 Off Road edition Pathfinder in fall of 2017. Mirage was approx 150 000. I have had a few issues with it. Fuel pump went out, bushings are all worn, tensioner pulley is wobbling, paint is so so, runs great when it is running but now i've replaced front brakes and still have strange clicky squeal going on pretty loud. DVD entertainment sys works great, no broken door handles yet, fuel economy is around 16/17 mpg- it's a heavy vehicle, when I step on the bad- from a stop it sounds like a surge of power and air going through making it sound like a PC of big industrial equip, live the stereo and the seats are comfy! My passengers that I Uber often comment on how much they like it's looks and the roominess inside ( it can seat 8 max including driver but only 7 seat belts. I'm in love with it but am worried about it lasting very long unless I dump a bunch of money into it! Some say that Nissan uses quality parts and makes good vehicles, this is my first Nissan so guess i'll have to wait and see! Had a Mitsubishi Montero 4x4, loved it although quite a bit smaller, but it lasted 7 years second hand and motor ran great at 300,000 mi. when I retired it. The fuel pump went out for 3rd time for using aftermarket ones that were so much cheaper than OEM pump.

I cannot give a valued answer on fuel consumption, because right after I bought the car I started having engine major problems. Which makes it very hard to say its good on fuel. If the engine is malfunctioning then it would not be good on fuel! Further, where performance is concerned it would be a 10/10 if I was not always at the dealer fixing something. Lets put it this way " I am always nervous in it because I dont know it might break down on the road!" No peace of mind since I bought it!

Hi Ken. No the car has done 160,000 klms and transmission is smooth. No problems. Awesome car just a little thirsty. .as we all know.

2015 STL 2wd
Shudder appear at 12,000km and transmission replaced at 16,000km now the car has 40,000 and it feels like it’s due for another transmission.

Also has lots of rattles and rear window mech replaced, tyres x 4 at 33,000km

Rear pads at 30,000km
Wiring harness replaced due to damage when changing transmission

Still has knocking sound in rear on right hand turns and a ticking sound when on the freeway and occasionally has a miss fire feel but like always no fault found but Nissan can feel and hear it.

Warranty runs out in Nov 2018 and we are very nervous if a transmission goes again as it big $$$& to replace.

Update. My 2003 4WD ST pathfinder is going great. In Australia this model only comes with a thirsty 3.3 V6 and 4 speed auto. I've now done 30,000 klms in 12 mths and hasn't missed a beat. I love this car and have done two road trips with a big one coming in June 2022 to Uluru in the centre of Australia. Three weeks and 7,500klms approx. .looking forward to the trip but not the fuel bill. I wish i could do a diesel conversion at a sensible cost.

I have a r51 2.5 diesel 2008 that blew the headgasket at 138000km on our way to Flinder ranges.Took it to Adelaide. Had it fixed by replacing the cilynderhead with a new one. It runs better than ever.Took $3500 out of the wallet and that was including labor, check on turbo and new gaskets all around. Great job done by Matthew's Workshop in Cavan

I purchased a R51 2005 a week later the head and cylinder 2 went. Do yourself a favor and don't Flog It Off to somebody else cause otherwise they going to go through heartache getting it fixed like I did. I got my motor completely refurbished and it cost me 5 and a half grand. The previous owner a week before I purchased it replace the radiator and put Chemiweld right through it unbeknownst to me and that caused the snowballing effect throughout the whole motor

Has anyone else with a pathfinder 2013 had Bluetooth issues? I have a brand new iPhone 7 plus and it continuely drops off the Bluetooth. I have latest iOS and even tried pairing another ph same thing. Very frustrating when you are talking and can't hear the other person. Nissan told me they would cover 70% of the replacement cost but I would still have to pay over $1500 that is ridiculous.

Hi Leanne, I have had the same issues with my bluetooth since I brought the car. I even replaced my phone. After 2 1/2 years I still have no resolution. They have replaced the entertainment system as there was a recall on this item so get them to double check the recall, it may include your car and save you the cost. I only found out after I gave a very poor customer survey and someone from within the dealership rang me to find out why I wasn't happy. I have also rung Nissan Australia when the issues continued after they replaced the entertainment unit in which they advised me the issue is with Apple and that I need to take it up with them. I tried to get another dealership to look at it and no one was interested, told me I had to take it back to where I brought it from. I have had nothing but issues with the car since I picked it up. The transmission took until 40,000kms to be repaired, the continual bluetooth issues and now my car is being repaired for the fan - a major part to keep the car from overheating. They have advised me the parts are on back order and could take 4 weeks, but never fear, the car is safe to drive even though its leaking coolant. As I'm not driving the car much atm, I have to say the bluetooth issues have not raised their ugly head! But once the car is right to drive, I dare say the bluetooth issue will be back. I am so disappointed with the car, I can't wait for the new financial year so I can trade it in!. I hope you have better luck than I have had.

Hi
Thanks for your feedback. Sounds like you have had lots of dramas. I had a win last week and I contacted Nissan Australia and begged them to replace the bluetooth. I got lucky and they approved the replacement. I only had it done on Thursday. So far seems better. I have had it drop out a couple of times but I am hoping that was just bad areas. I still have other issues though my heated/airconditioning in the driver seat just stopped. They have told me $120 to remove the seat to see what the problem is and then parts. I refuse to pay anything more on it. I also have a shuddering issue which is intermittent so they cant find what the problem is. I am a bit like you and keen to trade it in but I have just over 12 months to wait. Such a shame as I was happy when I first got it. I hope you get your issues fixed soon.

When pairing any new iPhone on Bluetooth, always change the phone name to one which is unique. Otherwise, if you keep the default setting, every other iPhone within the Bluetooth 15 metre range will try to be connected. This applies to all phones !!

If you've got the same model as I have in my review you shouldn't be using seat covers at all as the will restrict your seat wrap around airbags in an accident.

Nissan Pathfinder R51 (RH drive) with rear passenger door stuck shut. Outside lever/handle is "floppy" (ie, not actuating anything) & interior lever appears to have tension etc but won't open door. I have removed the 2 Phillips head screws underneath interior handle trim & electric window trim but it appears impossible to remove interior door panel with the door shut even though I made up some levers to try & assist - what's next?

The child lock button will probably be on. Look at the other rear door when it's open to see exactly where the child lock is, then slide a credit card in the jammed one and flick the child lock open. It'll then open from the inside and you can change the handle easily. I've changed a few on mine, they're notorious for breaking.

Mos

Thanks James - you were quite right but unfortunately I'd not thought of that because it had been inadvertently activated at some stage prior & have already been to the dealer to replace the handle - thanks anyway! :)
