Nylex Automatic Hose Reel 30m

Worked really well for about 1 year, until the hose got all jammed up and won’t retract anymore . Pressure is really low aswell.
Looks nice and the bracket it comes with was great, but I really expected a longer lifespan for $200

Looks like a robust, well built unit and worked fine for 12 months until the internal hose connection broke clean off - probably a $2 part has rendered a $200 hose useless.

Really unimpressed.

Has worked really well for us however approx 1 1/2years after buying it has broken the belt that guides the hose onto the reel (it feeds the hose in moving side to side as it rolls in)
This makes it useless.
Can I get replacement belts? We are in NZ

Really disappointed with this product. I changed from a similar system (not nylex) that had an existing internal leak and I still had at least double the pressure. This is a waste of money

The video shows the leak under pressure while the water gun was not pressed. This leak had got steadily worse and would surely fail catastrophically soon. With a 30m hose we have always been careful of the return of the hose stop, considering the plastic nature of the whole thing. The bracket has perished and finally broker. It is out of warranty but can I purchase a new bracket to fit as the hose reel still works well? The existing bracket doesn’t appear to be able to hold the weight.

After less an 18 months hose began to snap. Literally. We live in Alice springs so hot in summer… in winter the hose got really stiff, cracked & SNAPPED. And of course no proof of purchase. So now I am trying to figure out how to replace the hose…. Annoying. And the outer case can’t handle high UV… getting flakey/white etc. Tragically I bought two.

This was my hose after about 4 years fell off the wall. Bracket started cracking shortly after warranty expired. Really poor quality given this hose wasn't used very often e.g. sometimes only once a fortnight.

I too purchased a Nylex automatic hose reel from Bunnings thinking I got a quality product. But unfortunately the last ten metres dont retract. While the spring is not broken it must be just made of poor quality steel. I also have another brand similar in size, around the house which works quite well.

No matter what I try I can’t get the house to retract the last 3-5 metres. Defeats the purpose of a retractable hose if I still have it sprawled across the lawn. Will try and return for a refund.

Bought from Bunnings beliving it was a reputable brand regertably it did not live up to its name I've had it up for about two years and for no reason the hose locking mechanism stopped working.
Consequently I've got a hose reel that ostensibly works but cant, but can't be used.
No point complaning I will replace it with an other brand and make sure to avoid purchasing any thing made by this company,

Bought this hose unit less than 2 years ago for approx 180 dollars from Bunnings. It was installed outside obviously and gets morning sun. The hose housing has faded, the bracket installed into brickwork has cracked due to either weight and or exposure to the elements becoming brittle. The hose doesn’t retract all the way unless you forcefully push it back for the last 2 to 3m of hose. Contacted Nylex about the matter and got a disappointing response basically no longer under warranty so want to let any potential buyers of product to look elsewhere.

As per other reviews, clear plastic internal part is brittle and cracks over time leading to a unfixable leak.

Our reel was located in a shaded location and barely used. Won’t be buying nylex again I’m afraid. Shame, they used to be associated with quality parts...

Purchased a couple of months ago, thinking that all my problems with having a tidy yard would be solved. In a way yes, but the garden is so dry due to not getting any pressure from the reel.
Waist of time and money.

Purchased the NYLEX AUTO HOSE REEL from Bunnings almost 2 years ago, recently it started to leak from inside the Reel itself. As i cannot find the receipt, i took the unit apart and found the plastic mechanism where the hose actually attaches to the nipple had cracked almost completely to the point it cannot be repaired and water is simply pouring out. I even looked online for a replacement plastic mechanism and cannot source.
