censorship
This site is all about money ie extracting it from you. You need to join each site individually to see profiles. Their filtering system is a joke. Profiles are incomplete or fake. Diary entries and messages are censored if there is the slightest chance you are complaining about them or their total lack of transparency or integrity. Yes I am sure some people using this site are genuine (I was) but poor grammar, bad spelling and pigeon english sentence construction and general lack of knowledge about locations and distances in Australia is a sign that something is not quite right. They read everything you write.

Too many incomplete profiles, often there's no indication that the profile is still active, and I've never had a response from any member I've contacted. However, I've had several contacts from 'members' with false profiles. After one or two messages they give you an email address and suggest staying in touch that way. Invariably they soon reveal they are Russian...
Avoid this site, and if you're on it, change your email address, and don't trust anyone offering email communication after one or two contacts.

Re: Older Dating Online Australia
I do not want correspondence directed to my Mobile where the images are miniscule. Looks like they want you to do transactions by Mobile only; as all input from laptop is "unrecognised". This is a bit of a trap. Can't unsubscribe either - there's no one to write to. Was never really on site and NEED TO BE OFF now. I hate being directed to the "NAUGHTY" site - JUST NOT MY SCENE and I HATE IT.

Big Scam Too
I was just on this website for few hours. I wouldn't stay on a dating site who asks for money just to read my messages. They do read your messages because as soon as you give a number or email address, they will instantly block your reply.

Suspect Operations!
Multiple profiles of some people. I had an introduction sent to a man that I didn't send. It was stolen off of another website I had used and I was at work when message allegedly sent! I had cancelled my account after three days and couldn't get refund after contacting them in office hours in the uk. My profile was still on there and repeatedly requests to remove were met with silence, despite being stated in their customer charter you could delete it. They then blocked me from my account.

Beware
There seems to be a number of sites using the same database. They do read your private messages. I suspected something was going on when I was corrected for sending my contact details in a message. I then placed the phone number in a message, not using numbers, but using letters. I was corrected again and a chat service person (asian)popped up and asked if he could help. I deleted my account and almost immediately got a flood of scam emails. Beware.

What a farce
I am pretty careful in what I get my self into but this one ... well I fell for it I sign up no problems then I try out what was supposed to be free only to find out I would have to upgrade. So any way I get on board only to be bombarded with emails left right and centre. I even get some males introducing themselves, believe me these guys were wasters I being a widow wanted only widowers and what I got was divorcees and separated guys.
Non of the guys were of interest and if you went by the photo's you would just cringe. Guys that I picked...Read more

RIP the best online dating.
I've been on and off dating online since late ninties.. there was ICQ lovematch entirely free.. and productive...for me. Back then rsvp was only 90c per email " look at it now" Emotional Blackmail is the online dating game. The Fish, free.. well until mid 00s they started to restrict many options... "Squeezing you to PAY" yet the ads on there still rolled in. The worst one I came across is Christian Singles an Australian based.
I would suggest joining a Meetup.com group who's interests suit you, and no doubt you will find at leas...Read more

Save your money!!
Impersonal, lots of scammers. Emails are usually sent out in "bulk" to everyone within a geographical area, not to you personally. No instructions or guidelines and they are always trying to get more money from you for "bolt on" and "gifts". When you want to take a break or leave you have no control over your profile and have to request they delete it and then wait......

Is this a "con'?
Not impressed. Haven't received a reply to my request to prove that a profile is not a fake, i.e. one made up by the owners of the website. Also "Bolt-ons" are extra once you have paid a monthly subscription which is inordinately high anyway. One of them is just to see whether a message or a reply to a message has been received by a member. This is wrong; the membership should cover this.

Worst ever Dating site.
The worst kind yet! States it free to browse but you have to entering all your details first, then lure you in further, see you have all this interest, cram your inbox with multiple emails. When you complain, suddenly no one online to speak to you??? Very dodgy!
Don't waste your time with this..

Upgrade
Been trying for almost one week to upgrade. This site doesn't take Visa debit cards. Not good for people who don't own a credit card.Found some men that I would have liked to get in contact with. Without a upgrade, can't meet anybody. I had a lot of messages also. This is a chance gone by.
Not user friendly.

Take money no service cannot contact for refund
They take money out of account when you have cancelled membership, and then make it so you cannot contact to get refund, this is against consumer laws, so report them, the more that do this they will then become answerable and enable legal action to be bought against them the quicker the better to save others losing money to theses con merchants
Bad service once paid do not get any service once you complain

Highly suspicious
I am a 70-year-old man. I have been registered with Older Dating Online for less than three weeks, having had several years' experience with two other dating services. Older Dating keeps encouraging me to pay to "update'' so I can read the flood of ''personal'' messages I have got from women who have read my profile, and have not been approached by me. I have not paid up, as from my considerable experience, there is no way I (or my dog!) could generate that much genuine interest. Consistently, if I don't sign on for a couple of days, my admirer...Read more
s dry up. Every time I sign on, I seem to generate two or three new ''personal'' messages from admirers. With only a couple of exceptions, the 40 or so contacts I have received in this short time have been from women who live between 350 and 1000km from me. Apart from the fact of my sudden unbelievable popularity, I cannot believe so many women who live so far away would bother to contact me. I feel I am being conned. I do not believe the results.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Confidence trick warranting investigation and protective intervention
This dating service is a confidence trick. Based on my own experience, a short term "membership" translates immediately on payment by Credit Card into a 6 months or one year with no effective recourse. Refunds or corrections or the results of this one-way transaction is not spelled out clearly (or at all) in the introductory information (but no doubt buried in the smal print). I dis not see it until I was gypped for a six-month fee - having requested only a moderate price "bolt-on". Not only that "Older Dating On Line Australia" is not Austra...Read more
lian as represented, but British, so that attempts to seek refunds or other service is confined to UK office hours and UK service standards; i.e. no help. Other reviews appearing here all contained elements of my own expensive and unrewarding experience. People like myself use these sites because of loneliness and seeking companionship so that the behaviour of "Older Dating On Line Australia" is unacceptable and a clear case for "Fair Trading" and commercial watchdog intervention - and warnings to be issued by senior citizen publications (which I now intend to facilitate) Attractive website presentation of "members" (but falsely represented). Misleading. Credit Card payments misrepresented, dishonestly inflated, and non-reversible.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Met a guy lived with him 4 nearly 12mnths profile was totally misleading is a bludger, doesnt want to work, has 8 kids and as far as I know 6 women all (who were vulnerable ). The Cowboy Casonovas that on these sites should be exposed and band and people should be warned. These sites have a duty of care to their clients. Are these dateing sites there to protect innocent women and children from these Absaloms or like our judicial system do these sites have misogynist and sexist views too?

No one is a fool for seeking what is a basic human need and that is companionship and we would like to think that those companies who provide such services are above reproach and no doubt there might be some that do while others simply follow those age old vices of this world of exploitation and greed to make a quick dollar over the vulnerable.
However, the other issue is that even if a company tries to be diligent in protecting legitimate users there will always be schools of sharks and chameleons circling out there in the digital world ready to pounce - the internet shines a very intense light on the fact that the world if full of unethical, unprincipled scumbags represented in equal measure by both sexes.
Laws can be circumvented and the fluidity of the internet any penalties that are imposed are temporary a company (it can be just one person) can set up the same operations overnight virtually, under another name and no one will be the wiser.
Given that companies that offer these services are not local to the country of their operations they would be difficult to prosecute given the permeable nature of doing business on the internet. A court could if the server is with that country's jurisdiction order it to be shut down but as soon as that is actioned all these scammers have to do is move countries.
The weight of evidence that would need to be collected and proven beyond reasonable doubt in a court to show that a company was committing fraud or scamming would be enormous as well as showing where the breaches in law have occurred.
In terms of cost of prosecution that too would run into many thousands of dollars a very long case that in the end may not bring about the desired result.
In this day and age the old maxim "Caveat Emptor" applies as does the statement about using the internet if it is too good to be true it is likely to be fake just leave and minimize one's losses as much as possible.
I can only agree with what Mr Smith has written above. But if only our government services could provide a free opportunity for safe meeting for folks that are so lonely and who refuse to join these commercial groups... or have been damaged by joining with them and paying for their dubious services. This would help with the health of the nation--we need a minister in charge of dealing with loneliness.....lots of chronic illness could be headed off as emotional issues affect physical health... of course... as is well known...Brenn
