GREAT ANSWER NOW ANY IDEA HOW YOU ACCESS IT ---- HALF AN ANSWER DOES NOT REALLY HELP --- I'M SURE I HAVE PRESSED EVERY BUTTON WHILE ON A CALL --- WITH NO LUCK.
I'm looking to buy a mobile phone for my mum. It needs to be simple to make phone calls and also to send messages. She does not like predictive text. How easy is it to access and write messages with this phone. She has slight cognitive decline and trouble learning new things.
My 90 year old Dad found his Olitech Flip phone easy to adapt to, but he has never learnt to text so I can't help you with your question about predictive text.
My husband is completely blind, can he ask like Siri to dial nos. For him
The main screen is just blank/white. Can't see any menus options but can still receive and make outgoing calls. Is there any way to restart the software without losing the fast dial numbers
That was similar to my Dad's phone after about 3 years...he also had strange squiggles, or the blank white screen. You can pop the back off and take out, and refit the battery. You won't lose your stored numbers. Restart the phone and you should be ok for a while? I would call Olitech direct and have a chat with them.
tried that and it didnt work
Can you personalise the phone display with a photo/wallpaper? and where can you go in settings (or elsewhere to see your flip phones phone number and any other details relating to the phone.
I bought this for my mother who is blind, is there a way that she can just open the phone and select a numerical number as a shortcut (say 1) and it dials the phone number attached to that number without having to scroll to "Call" Sorry for all the questions. Thank you.
How to delete call wait on and off from olitech model olt2908
I would like to buy this phone for my oh so tech-challenged husband. Does it display the NAME of the caller if it is in the contacts or just the phone number? Also, once again a question on the battery life, does it last 2 days or just one day when only used for phone calls? Thank you :)
Can you get internet on it apps etc
Does anyone know what safe mode is and how to get rid of it in the back ground? Thanks!!!
Does the Olitech Easy flip phone come with a nano size sim card as part of the phone, or is it a separate purchase.
From memory, had no sim supplied.
Have since bought a smart phone it is easier to use.
Thanks Ash
Hey Derek, you can opt for them to supply a nano sim at checkout - it will come pre-installed. You can't choose any sim you like, it's a sim from the phone plan that they also advertise on their website.
Will the phone function WITHOUT the SIM card ? I read yes but it's all over the shop !
A sim card is required to access a phone provider network.
I only use mostly for emergencies with ALDI sim.
COSTS ABOUT $15 A YEAR with surplus added to next top up. Ash
Many thanks. I bought the Aldi SIM, but being so mobile phone ignorant, what do I do now to get it operating, please?
can this phone access the internet
do olitech make a longer lasting batery for easyflip phonr
My neighbor has an Olitech easy flip and it is frozen just showing Olitech Easyflip on the screen. When you try to turn it off it just keeps restarting, with the name on the screen and you cant do anything with the phone.
Hi Marie, what I would try first is a Factory Reset although if you can't get past the Olitech screen that may not be possible. (Settings>System>Factory reset) so try removing the battery, leave it for a few seconds then replace it and see if that resolves it.
If that doesn't work then a call to Olitech support may be needed.

I hope this helps. Peter
Like Peter S suggested I would try removing the battery, waiting a few seconds and then reinserting it. If no joy then it is probably a hardware fault and you could try contacting Olitech. This phone has a 12 month warranty and my wife's phone failed in a similar manner after only 11 months and had to be replaced. Choice magazine had a good article on "phones for seniors" in their April 2021 edition. They suggested an alternative option for those less tech savvy was to obtain an older android smart phone and go into settings then choose "easy mode " or "simple mode" depending on brand. There are also several free apps from the Google play store that can add a simple interface to the phone making it much more senior friendly. Naturally for the initial phone set up they would need the help of a tech savvy friend. The big plus for using a smartphone is that they can read QR codes so essential in our Covid19 times. The Olitech phone CANNOT read QR codes so is only suitable someone who is in a nursing home or housebound.
Hi does this phone have predictive text option and does the font size can be changed to larger
Yes, it has predictive text and the font can be changed. Great simple solid phone for the elderly technology-averse people. I wouldn't use it to send long texts but simple messages can be set up. Dialling is good through the Photo Dial function and has good emergency contact function. Overall I like it, no touch screen, no browser, very simple phone
Sending an SMS on this phone is a total pain as it uses the old multi tap system and certainly not something an older person could manage. I haven't tried altering the text size but remember that the screen is very small so a larger text would limit the amount of information available at any one time. Don't bother trying to sent or receive photos as the camera is pretty awful and so far I haven't been able to receive any incoming photos.( My wife did receive "half" a photo at one point so I told the sender to resend to my smart phone which was naturally OK) .This is a very basic Flip phone similar to 1999 models and so is best limited to receiving and making phone calls providing a tech savvy friend can set up the contact list and speed dialling.
