Passable if you're not too fussy

published

To preface this review I must admit to have been spoiled. My previous system was a home brewed amplified set of older wooden cased hi fi speakers.. I mean double woofers with 12" speakers. Then I got an IQ4 that no longer had analogue outputs.. So now it's an optical output.. Not an improvement to my mind. The Panasonic can certainly produce a lot of volume but I really am disappointed by the so called sub woofer.. No grunt at all.. I've got a system on my PC that cost me 50 bucks years ago and it does a lot better job.. I guess that a brand name doesn't mean everything..

Purchased in at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $400.

Great product, great price

published

I just purchased the Panasonic SC HTB688 soundbar to go with my Panasonic Oled TV and really pleased with its performance so far. Also a great price from The Good Guys, dropping from almost $500 down to $299 and then price matched David Jones at $187 even though the GGs said the price match with DJ was significantly below cost. I would have gone for the more expensive HTB700 with Dolby Atmos but the dimensions suggested that it would have been too big to actually fit under the TV.
