Really Terrible and harm to infant’s life
I really strongly tell any parents, do not buy this for your kids! That not only has yuck taste but endanger newborn’s life. My son got some symptoms which are vomiting, hard breathing, losing conscious, and his feet suddenly turn to purple after taking this. So do not buy this product for your baby.

Multivitamin with Iron - yuck
I can't believe this passed product testing. The taste is vile. Like gagging vile. Taste nothing like the "citrus" flavour mentioned on the box. Google now informs me via other sites that I'm not the only Mum who considers the taste terrible and many children vomit after it being administered.

Full of artificial crap!
Needed an iron supplement for my 1 year old. The box just said it had flavoring so I didn't think much of it, then the actual bottle said contains artificial flavours and sweeteners! All I am trying to do it give my baby a bit more nutrition yet they think it's ok to add artificial flavours and sweeteners and don't even have to list the numbers of which ones they are. How would these ingredients be healthy for babies when they are known to cause a number of issues in adults. There are plenty of ways to naturally flavours and sweeten things these days.

Premature Baby-Hospital Instructions
My second born came extremely premature and as part of the care he received in hospital in the special care unit was to give all premi babies penta-vite & iron supplements. Of course the taste is horrendous, that's why you must mix it in with there milk. I thought that's what everyone would be doing, for babies mix it in with there milk and for infants mix it in with water or juice.

Horrible taste !
Been advised to give Pentavite multivitamins oral liquid infants 0-3 yrs to my newborn for 3 months as she was low in vit D .... Everytime I give it to her she throws up ! I have to do small drops from the 0.45ml dosage, the smell is horrible, the taste is horrible, I try to give it to my 2 yr old and he split it all out ! So sticking to the vita tingles for him. Why pineapple flavour ??? No flavour would be better ! Ashame there's seems to be no other choice out there . Stick it out for three months and hopefully I can't stop giving her this..

Using for my toddler
Started using this on advice from a friend, after my toddler was a bit run-down. I'm not sure how much it helps but I feel better in knowing that he is getting a boost of vitamins. We bought the liquid and he hated the taste and would be hysterical when he had to take it. I now put it with 1cm juice mixed with water and call it his vitamin juice - loves it.
Bad taste

Disappointed in the product change
After giving my daughter Penta-vite multi vitamins chewable tropical flavour teddies for over 12 months now, I was extremely disappointed to learn that I can no longer get these because you have changed the product to a "gummy lolly" because that's exactly what it is with glucose!!! We have stopped using your product for this reason. Last time I checked sugar wasn't a vitamin or a mineral! Extremely disappointed
its full of sugar!

Great source of vitamins
Great source of vitamins for my girl. At first she did not like the taste, now she does not mind taking it once a day from the oral syringe, because Ive made it into an everyday vitamin supplement for her, i like knowing she has all the vitamins she needs each day, to maintain good health and a great immune system. along with a variety of other nutrients she gets in the healthy foods and drinks she will take. Another product she did take straight away-through oral syringe was a blackcurrent taste, and she loved the blackcurrant taste. So if a child does not like the taste of this product, maybe offer it in a few flavors like blackcurrant, berry or passionfruit falvors. I am very happy with your product.
Excellent Source of Vitamins

Eww
I was told to get it for my daughter by the hospital as well as liquid iron supplement because she was 6 weeks early and doesn't get the necessary extra bits that the last part of pregnancy provides. Stinks and she hates taking it. Loves the iron though (totally different brand). Maybe if they changed the infant liquid to an iron flavour babies might actually want to swallow it. She swallows the iron (which tastes metallic) without a fuss. But sticks her nose up at the Penta-vite.
Liquid vitamins for young children. Reccommended and used by the hospital.
Stinks. Tastes terrible.

We found that our twin boys initially didn't like it at 7 months, however within a week or so they opened their mouths. We found placing the liquid at the back of their tongues was easier to dispense... Read more
and now eagerly open their mouths when we bring it out. :P It does smell like flat Berocca, even when it passes in their pee.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Kids love the chewable teddy bears
My kids, 3 & 5, have been taking the pentavite chewable teddy bears for about 4 months, they like the taste and think its a bit of a treat really. do i think it makes them any healthier? not that i know of, they still catch every cold and other nasty bug out there! but they are not the greatest eaters so i can only hope it helps them on the inside. HOWEVER, after giving it to my 3 year old for the last 4 months the company has now changed the recommendation for the chewable tablets to be taken from age 4, not age 3 like they used to, and like i...Read more
was! this is because they think the vitamin A dosage may be too high for a 3 year old. why dont they do their research properly in the first place!! so now i feel like i've poisoned my child for 4 months and to top it off he wont take the oral liquid because its so disgusting so I cannot give him pentavite vitamins anymore. Kids loved the chewable teddy bears They only have chewable for age 4 and up which sucks cos no one likes the liquid one!1 comment
Its not designed to stop bugs, viruses etc...its there for suplementing the diet if they are not getting enough minerals and vitamins.....

Success with Penta-vite Junior with both my children!
I have used Penta-vite with my (now) 5 year old for at least a few years due to her always being a very fussy eater. She is also susceptible to ear infections which makes her feel quite run down so I find the multi helps give her some much needed energy during illness. Because shes taken it every day for a few years she tolerates the taste although needs a drink or something to eat afterwards to take taste away. It tastes quite metallic. My daughter doesnt like the chewable vitamins. My 2 year old also tolerates the Penta-vite but prefers chewable vitamins.

Bad
My daughter hates this stuff and in fact I read the reviews here before I bought it and was hoping she might be one of the few that would happily take it. I was wrong, she even cries when she sees the bottle coming out of the fridge, although I can't blame her, the smell alone makes me feel nausea! We have the pineapple one and it certainly bears no resemblance to the taste of any pineapple I have ever eaten! Sadly I have not been able to see the benefits as struggle to get it down her.
Have read good reviews about it but sadly it tastes too bad to gain the benefit
Tastes awful

Excellent
My daughter has been taking this since she was about 18 months (when she became particularly fussy with her eating). It's peace of mind to know that when she's going through a fussy stage or illness, that at least she's getting her vitamins from somewhere. She has no problems with the taste. I use a Panadol syringe to give it to her which makes it really easy to give the correct dose. She loves the taste of it & is always disappointed when I refuse to give her more!
Ease of use, vitamin content, price & taste
Doesn't contain calcium or fish oil

Good
Really great way to get extra vitamins into your child if they are sick or lacking a bit of nutrition for whatever reason. Very strong smell/colour/flavour though.
My child takes it in a nurofen syringe straight! She has no problems with the flavour (the standard orange one).
If she's been a bit sick or rundown, I use this to give her a vitamin boost. Also give it to her when she's eating red meat to ensure she has enough vit c to absorb the iron. I don't use it that often and keep it in the fridge for the above occasions.
It is reasonably priced too
It has a strong smell and I can definitely see how kids would not stomach it. I am just fortunate my daughter loves it.

Terrible
I purchased a bottle for my 2 year old a few months ago and she consistently refuses it as she dislikes the pineapple taste. I have tried mixing it with other food but the taste is even too potent for me to tolerate. I took the bottle to my mother's group and all of their babies pulled faces when being given the liquid (even in food or milk). I bought my daughter some chewy vitamins and she loves them. I wish Bayer would change the flavour of the Pentavite.
2 year old constantly refuses to take it
I can't even tolerate the taste
I don't think it was tested on any children prior to releasing the product on the market as I don't think any of the test subjects could have tolerated it

Oops. We have been giving my 5 year old son Pentavite for weeks. I just noticed tonight on the box it says refrigerate after opening. I hope he’s ok and should I throw it out now? Thanks in advance.

My son is two year and love the chewy tablets. What if he takes more than one Chewey tablet in one day?
1 answer
My kids now take Spatone which is a natural form of liquid iron supplement for children & adults. You can drink it on its own or add it to a half cup of juice. What is the content of iron in each chewy tablet? If it was just a one-off I'm sure it'll be fine however always best to stick to the recommended daily dose according to his age/weight.
