Hi!
Can I use melamine dishware in the Avent microwave steriliser please?
Hi Iva, thank you for your question. It would be best to avoid placing melamine dishware into the microwave sterilizer as they are not microwave safe. The dishware could crack or become brown. Hope this answer your question!
We'd like to refer you to our Consumer Care team for more information. You can reach them directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST. They'll be happy to help.

The Philips Australia Team
Thank you for the answer.
One more question: I accidentally put a plastic teether along with a plastic baby bootle, a silicone teat and melamine dishware to the Avent microwave sterilizer WITHOUT adding water and let it run for 2 minutes. The melamine got brown spots (I won't use it anymore). And on the other things there is no visual damage. Is it safe to use these please?
Hello. Pls I recently bought a Philips 3 in one steriliser and just realized the lid is missing. The store has refused to take responsibility for it because it's been months since I purchased it and I wasn't aware of the problem till now. What can I use as a substitute for the lid please
Hi there, Vovwe.
Thank you for reaching out to us this way! We are sorry to hear that the lid was not included in the box, this should of course not be the case. We would like to solve this with you, could you please reach out to us via the below details? Furthermore, could you keep your product details (imprinted on your steriliser) and proof of purchase nearby, in case we need more information? Thanks in advance.
You can reach them directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST. They'll be happy to help.

Thanks for the response. However, sadly I bought the steriliser in Nigeria. That is where I reside. I was just wondering what I could use as a substitute, as in what would be safe? Glass? Plastic?
Hi Vovwe, in that case we recommend contacting us via our social media channels or via the support contact in Nigeria. Hope that works out!

The Philips Australia Team
Hi, Just wondering when the bottles come out of the microwave they have water still in them from the steam, is this okay or does it need to be dried? If it needs to be dried how do I dry it so it stays sterile?
Thanks, Dani
Hi Dani, thank you for your question. It's not a problem if a little bit of water from the steam it's still in the bottles but, if you prefer, you can wait for them to dry out keeping them inside the sterilizer with the lid close. They will remain sterile for up to 24 hours if the lid is unopened. Hope this answer your question! If you need more information, we'd like to refer you to our Consumer Care team. You can reach them directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST. They'll be happy to help.
Kind regards,
The Philips Australia Team
Also, once sterilised, can you store the bottles in the fridge in a sterilised container so they remain sterile?

You can reach them directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) from Mondays to Saturdays: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm EST. They'll be happy to help.

Hi Guys, is it okay for Water droplets to remain after sterilisation in Philips Avent 3-in-1 steam Sterilizer. Is it safe for the baby or should the droplets be dried off with paper towels / napkins ?
Drops let’s are fine, it is condensation from sterile water.
Hi Saurav,
Momma-Sar is right. The droplets is condensation form the sterile water. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our product team directly. Thank you Momma-Star and Team Philips. This was helpful !
Hi, will Pigeon PP wide neck bottles fit in this steriliser? thank you !
I’m not sure sorry, I’ve only tried with avent and tommee Tippee but I would say most probably they would fit
Hi there!
Thanks for your question. This steriliser has been designed to sterilise 4 Philips AVENT bottles. In case you'e using another brand we kindly refer you to the manufacturers guidelines. Generally any other brand/products that can be submerged in boiling water can be sterilised in our sterilisers. Always ensure that the items are positioned in a way so steam can circulate through and around each item to ensure sterilisation.
We hope this answers your question!

I forgot to put water in the microwave sterilizer.
The plastic base and cover look look fine (maybe because there were a few drops of water on the bottles). The bottles and the pacifier are good too. Can I continue use them or should I change all of them( sterilizer and bottles)?
Hi, just wondering whether the lid of Avent Microwave steriliser tighly fits or loosely fits to the bottom part. I just received my set and when I put the lid it's not very tighly fastened.
I don't own a microwave oven but I do own an OTG (oven toaster griller). Can I use Avent steriliser in an OTG?
No I don’t think so. It would melt the plastic.
Hi Swati,
Thank you for your query about your Avent steriliser. We do not recommend placing it in an oven toast griller, as this may melt its plastic parts.
Should you have any further questions, please contact our local product team at 0800 658 224 (NZ) from Monday - Friday: 09:00 am - 09:00 pm and 1300 363 391 (AU) Monday - Friday: 07:00 am - 07:00 pm EST.
Have a wonderful week ahead!

How do I store my bottles and teats after sterilizing? I left it on the drying rack but there's still moisture in everything (everything evaporates nicely when I boil though).
Hi CinD, thanks for reaching out. It is recommended that you do not leave a feeding nipple or AirFree vent insert in direct sunlight or heat. Also never leave in disinfectant for longer than recommended, as this may weaken the parts. Keep all parts dry in a covered container. You can find more information here: https://philips.to/2TbYEoF
If you have any further questions, we’re available 24/7 on Facebook (https://philips.to/fb247) and Twitter (https://philips.to/tw247). You can also reach us on 1300 363 391 (AU) or on 0800 658 224 (NZ).

The cover melted as i accidentally pressed on grill in the microwave
Can i still use it to sterilizer? Is it safe or shall i get rid of the lid?
Hi Sally, thanks for reaching out to us here. We're sorry to hear the cover of your Avent Microwave Steam has melted. We'd recommend putting it aside for the time being until our product specialists have had a look for you. You can reach them directly at 1300 363 391 (Australia), or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand). They'll be happy to look into it for you, and will guide you through the whole process. If you have any further questions, just let us know.
My bottles and microwave steriliser have not been used for 7 years. Will it all be ok to use for my second child?

Can I pls check if this holds Pigeon bottles? Thanks
Good question, Antoinette. Size-wise it probably shouldn't be a problem, as the bottles aren't likely a whole lot bigger than our own brand. But we can't speak for the compatibility if we're talking about the method of sterilizing. This might be good to check with the manufacturer itself.
We hope that helps.
Kind regards,
The Philips Australia Team
Hello there, I accidentally forgot to add water into the steriliser and the outer bottom bit melted slightly, while the insides stayed intact. Would the steriliser still be safe to use? Many thanks!
Hi there, Katie - thanks a lot for reaching out about this.
On the surface, if the device has been affected like this we would indeed advise against using it from here on out. As we simply can't guarantee the safety, nor the quality. We would like to advise to contact us by phone on 1300 363 391 (AU) or on 0800 658 224 (NZ). There we'll be able to discuss the matter further. If you prefer talking over social media, please know that this is a route you could take as well.

will the sterilizer fit in a standard size microwave? I am planning to purchase one but not sure if it will fit.
Yes it does fit
Hi there,
Thanks for the question - the dimensions of the appliance are as follows: 166 (H), 280 (W), 280 (L) mm. You can compare this with those of your microwave to get an exact answer, since these vary in size - we hope this helps!
Kind Regards,
The Philips Australia Team
I forgot to put wAter in the sterilizer did I damage the bottles, nipples, etc. do I need to throw them away they look fine?
Hi there,
Thank you for the question - it's difficult to answer it without a little more information, but to be on the safe side of things we'd still recommend to dispose of the sterilised items and check the microwave and the steriliser for damage. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us at 1300 363 391 (Mondays to Fridays: 9:00 am - 7:00 pm EST). Thank you!

How long you put the avent microwave steamer in the microwave
Hi Silvana,
Good question, thanks for submitting it here. The exact length of the cycle depends on the wattage of your microwave. 2 minutes at 1200-1850W, 4 minutes at 850-1100W, 6 minutes at 500-800W. We hope this answers your question. Let us know if any other questions pop up alright? We're here for you. :)

Can i serialize diffrent brand bottles than avent ?
Hi Dominika.
Thanks for asking your question here, it's a good one. :) Generally any other brand/products that can be submerged in boiling water can be sterilized in an Avent steam sterilizer. Does that answer your question?
Kind regards,
The Philips Australia team
If my microwave is not functioning, can I put boiling hot water in the Steriliser and will it do the job?
Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us here, Dee. We're sorry to hear your microwave isn't working anymore. Unfortunately, pouring boiling water in the sterilizer doesn't guarantee the same result as using the microwave. Therefore, we advise against using the sterilizer in that fashion. If you have any further questions or comments, please don't hesitate to reach out to us on one of our social media channels. There, we're available 24/7 and happy to help.
