I was given the sterilizer as a gift and I'm so glad! It's so easy to use! Just pour in 200ml of water, place the bottles and teats in the marked spaces, clip on lid and 2min in the microwave and your done!! How easy could it be! I do a days worth of bottles each night, it takes very little time to wash, sterilize and fill bottles with pre boiled water!
Quick and easy!
Can be a little difficult to arrange bottles when using large sizes.

This is a super easy and no fuss way to sterilise bottles, dummies etc.
My mother in law has one and has proved to be of endless use and is so easy, quick and convenient to use. Life would be a lot harder without this product and I highly recommend it.
So easy
Because of size, you sometimes have to use a couple of times to get it all done.

This takes up space, requires lots of cleaning, and I ended up boiling the bottles in a saucepan which Was far easier to clean. If you need to sterilize lots of bottles each day I would look at the electronic ones. Otherwise a large pot will be just as good, cheaper and eaier to clean.
Brand name
Required lots of cleaning otherwise a dirty residue would build up

We bought this as I didn't need another appliance sitting on my bench. It's quick (only 2 minutes in our microwave). It's easy to stack, but I do only use Avent bottles and teats. I do find it harder to stack the larger bottles in, bit of a balancing act even if you follow the manual sometimes they don't sit flush. No bad smells and just chuck it on top rack of dishwasher once in a while to clean.
Quick, inexpensive
The measuring cup only goes to 120mls, yet you need 200mls for the sterilizer- frustrating!

This steriliser is just so quick and easy to use. We purchased it on recommendation from friends and it has been one of the best purchases we have made for baby. We are able to sterilise our bottles and teats we need for each day in just 4 minutes. The large capacity means it fits all the things we need to sterilise for the day. It is also suitable for sterilising bottles that aren't Avent brand, however taller skinny bottles may not fit. A fantastic purchase.
Large capacity, quick and easy to stack and use.
Taller skinny bottles may not fit.

Could not live without this steriliser. I picked mine up second hand for about $20 dollars and it has been invaluable. As I've gone back to work and am having to express, I am constantly sterilising bottles and expressing equipment. This steriliser is so convenient and quick.
Highly highly recommended if you are bottle feeding with either formula or expressed breast milk.
Everything!

Prior to using this sterilizer, I borrowed one from a girlfriend. Hers was a very cheap one. It did not have clips to secure lid, and was made of fairly flimsy plastic. It also took 7 minutes to sterilize. I then purchased the Avent Microwave Steam Steriliser, and after a few initial hiccups, I have never looked back. The problem I had at the beginning was that the bottles I had did not fit properly in this sterilizer. My Medela 150ml bottles fit, but the Tommee Tippee do not fit well. I purchased some Avent bottles and was very satisfie...
Read mored with them. We have an 1100 watt microwave, so I sterilize my bottles in 2 minutes. It is fabulous. It is very sturdy plastic, and has clips to secure the lid to the base so that you never fear spilling steaming hot water on yourself. This is an excellent sterilizer and it was worth every cent! Sturdy, safety clips to secure lid, quick sterilising Some brands of bottles don’t fit.Related Articles

Quick & Easy to use, made my life so much easier, i've heard of people boiling their bottles & dummies etc to sterilize them & I seriously think they must be crazy to waste so much time! I bought mine on sale at Toys R Us for $36! (so cheap considering they normally retail for around $70!) I'd suggest holding out for the sales, but definately a must have!

I absolutely love this steriliser, it is quick and easy to use and takes up very little space (no precious bench space!). I used it both for my breast pump accessories and for bottles. I only used Avent bottles but I did notice that it was not great for taller bottles from other companies.
After washing the bottles, I would put them into the steriliser, along with the water and into the microwave for four minutes. This product was so much easier to use than others and I just wish that I had bought it for my first child instead of my third (a...
Read morend yes, I sterilised bottles even for my third child). I also found it had good second hand value. Quick, easy, compact and easy to on-sell. Does not fit tall skinny bottles from other companies in as easily as fits Avent bottles.Find out how Philips Avent Microwave Steam compares to other Bottle Warmers & Sterilisers

Having breastfed bubs for 5 months, I haven't had to deal with bottles, teats and sterilising on a regular basis. I have on the odd occasion given a bottle and gone through the stove top boiling method, which I found a bit of a hassle, having to wait for the water to boil, time how long it's in there etc. Going back to work and looking at expressing, I bought a breast pump and again was dreading having to sterilise frequently. So I thought I'd invest in this product. Should have done it sooner! Give all your items a quick wash, stack them i...
Read moren the steriliser, add water, and in the microwave it goes. Done in 2 minutes (though note this timing depends on your microwave wattage, up to 4 mins for a microwave with low wattage). I also like how the items stay sterile for up to 24 hours if you don't open the lid. You can sterilise to use later. quick, simple to use, takes the hassle out of sterilising- 8 reviews

You just whack the thing in the microwave with a bit of water for 4 minutes and you're done. Brilliant!
Doesn't take up bench space. Doesn't need to be warmed up and plugged into a powerpoint or take as long as most of the others. Sterilises just as effectively. Well worth it.
Inexpensive, faster, easy

It's a very quick steriliser. We have a low power microwave and it still only takes 6 minutes. It fits quite a lot in there and basically all baby feeding products are ok to go in there. We used it for bottles, teats, dummies and spoons. We weren't using Avent bottles for bub and the bottles we used were a bit too tall for the steriliser, however it still fit 3 lying down and then a couple of teats and smaller items as well.
Quick and easy to use. Fits a lot.
Bulky - wouldn't want to travel with it. Because you don't use it for long in the space of bub's life, you'll need some storage area if you're planning to keep it!

I scored this beauty on Ebay for $10 (RRP $70). It is one of the best investments I made for my daughter. It really us fool proof. No chemicals, cords etc.
Convenient, easy to use, effective. Takes 3 mins to sterilise up to 6 bottles.
Expensive if purchased brand new, difficult to travel with- but then again most sterilisers are.

I went from sterilising my bottles in a pot on the stove the old fashioned way and I am saving myself so much time and effort. This steriliser is great for those using Avent products. It's really easy and quick to load and in around 4 minutes you have completely sterile bottles. It's a bit silly that the measuring cup that's included doesn't hold the 200mls of water required to steam the contents, but I just measure out 200mls in one of the bottles before I load them in. It's not too expensive for what it is and seems to be pretty durable so far. I use it one a day normally.
Easy to load and use, quick, super handy for travel
Measuring cup is useless but that's no big dealTarget

So so easy for me as a first time mum and even for doting dad to use.
I have not yet had my baby but have purchased the microwave steriliser along with probably way too many bottles as I intend to breastfeed. I purchased 8 bottles and two free with the steriliser so 10 in total. :-)
I feel so confident now knowing that should I need bottles or dummies to be sterilised then its just into the microwave for two minutes. I also was told by a great friend that I can put all of the breast pump accessories into the steriliser and feeding bub is so much easier.
I feel confident and have no worries about taking it when travelling as it will fit easily into a suitcase.
Love its ease of use and quicker than the other sterilisers that I looked at.

A great easy to use product. Small enough that i could take it travelling and large enough that i can sterilise several products at a time.
Easy to use and a great size
A little expensive compared to others, cant understand why the cup is not 200ml

This is the only steriliser I have used and dont think I would need anything else. I can fit a few bottles in there plus the pieces of my breast pump (also Phillips brand). Its easy to clean and you can keep it in the microwave until your ready to use any of the stuff. Compared to an electric steriliser ther price was very reasonable.
Easy to use and works great with other Phillips products.

There's no need to spend a lot of money on any other brand when K-Mart offers this fantastic low cost option for sterilizing your babies bottles and pump parts.
Easy to use, effective and cheap
I purchased this steamer for my second child and never looked back (if only I had purchased this for my first child). Just fill with bottles, add water than place in microwave and let it all happen. It makes bottle sterilising time stress free!
very reliable, inexpensive and hassle free

Don't see the point in buying an electronic sterilizer, when the microwave one does it just the same, and is just as easy to use. I wasn't sure how it would go with bottles that weren't of the same brand, but it turned out fine, sometimes would have to have less than 6 bottles in it but that wasn't a problem.
- Quick
- Easy to use
- Holds up to six bottles
- Can also be used for non-Avent bottles
- Does the same things as an electronic sterilizer

I love this, as I would prefer to use steam to sterilise over milton any day. I have pigeon brand bottles and this steam steriliser takes them. You do have to be careful when putting it in the microwave as I dont have the advent bottles they tend to tip if you bump it. But if you dont they stay where put. It only takes 6 mins to sterilise. I can be hot to touch getting out of the microwave which can be easily fixed by leaving it in there for a few minutes before taking it out.
The cup provided is hard to read. It says use 200mls of w...
Read moreater and you can never see where that is on the provided cup. I just use a measuring jug of my own. People say its a little pricey for what it is. I paid $69 for mine. But add up how much you would be paying for milton over a few months and it adds up. This is one big outlay upfront but it pays for itself. Would definitely recommend it to a friend!! $69 but it pays for itself in time cause you dont have to use milton. Yukky chemicals. hot to touch if you want to get it straight out of the microwave. And although other brand of bottles fit they dont fit snuggly so may knock them over before getting into microwave. Easy just restack it.- 21 reviews
This is a great, cheap way to sterilise. I bought this over an electric steriliser as it takes only a couple of minutes and is far cheaper. I have used it several times a day for the last 5 months and have not had any problems.
Easy to use
Quick
Holds heaps of bottles, teats, lids etc
Holds all different brands of bottles
Too bulky to take when travelling

I Love this product, would highly recommend to anyone and you are not using anything artificial to sterilise your babies bottles. If you manage to get it on special even better!!
It only takes 2 minutes to sterilise!!!! Easy to clean. Simple to use. Stays sterile for some time if the the lid remains on. I just put it in microwave at night before i go to bed and its realy to go in the morning. Mine came with a 120ml and 260ml bottle included and was purchased from Big W on special.
Can be expensive if not on sale. Requires 200ml of water to sterilise but the measuring cup provided is only 120ml. (not a major con, just annoying).
