Hi, my son cooked fatty steak in the fryer and the fats burned and stuck on the basket. My kids used harsh sponge to clean it and removed the black coating. Where can I replace the frying basket.

Hi. Can I use a little olive oil, or other true oils, in place of spray. I’m cautious about spray oils. Cheers

Hi there, thanks for asking this. It is possible to use any kind of oil which is suitable for grilling, baking, roasting or frying. However, we do recommend to be aware of cold-pressed oil, because this is not suitable. This type of oil can burn at high temperatures.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out to us on one our social media channels (Facebook and/or Twitter @PhilipsCare) or by phone (AU 1300 363 391, NZ 0800 658 224).

We just pushed the button in, and then lift up. If that’s not working, the mechanism in yours might be faulty.

I think your product is faulty if the button doesn't release the basket

Why won't my viva switch off when the basket is remove to flip contents?

3 answers
Byll
Byll

Maybe because of the timer hasn't finshed. It only turns off when the timer is finshed. Also an easy way to clean the machine when cold tip upside down and with a cold damp cloth just wipe the element over. Hope this helps you out.

Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi there, thanks for asking. Removing the basket when flipping contents doesn't lead to the appliance turning off. Just like Byll said, when the timer hasn't turned off, the Airfryer is still set to prepare food. We hope this helps!

Because it's not meant to, otherwise the temperature would reduce too much each time you open the drawer. If it bothers you, just switch it off at the wall, then switch it back on when you've finished flipping.

Hi David, thanks for your question! You can switch your unit off by manually turning back the timer knob to '0'. Hopefully, this answers your question. :)

You can just turn it off at the wall. This turns off the heat and fan but not the manual timer so don't be alarmed if you still hear it ticking down.

yes, but you should always start with lower temperature and then go to high to finish up with your browning.
I wouldn't use highest to start off your cooking. That also uses up more electricity.

Hi Sam,
thanks for contacting us with your query. The maximum temperature setting for the HD9621 Airfryer is indeed 200 degrees.

I haven't needed any accessories, the wire basket can be lined with baking paper to prevent drips etc,I've also used a small square baking dish in the fryer. The basket isn't huge but plenty for two people.

Which grill pan fits the Philips Turbostar HD9621?

2 answers
nemrac

The pan was an optional extra, bought from TVSN, at the same time as buying the air fryer. It's not huge, about 16cm, with a handle, sits neatly in the basket and can be used to make buns or cakes. Honestly, as yet it hasn't been used, however it would make two large-ish serves or 3 or 4 smaller serves. Hope that's a help.

Philips
Philips S.Philips

Hi there,

Thanks for your question. Nice to see that you are thinking of grilling with the TurboStar. The grill pan you are looking for is the HD9940/00. Assuming you are currently located in the United States, you can find it via various online retailers. In case you are in Australia you can also find it right here: http://bit.ly/2on9wR4.
We hope this is the information you need.

Hi,

I bought the Turbostar airfryer (HD9621) over Xmas and so far it's great. Looking at purchasing the rack (HD9904) to go with it but the compatible models listed on the box don't include the Turbostar? Is it still compatible? I also checked the Philips website and the only accessory available for my model is is a Grill Pan?

Yes the HD9904 rack is perfect for the Viva Collection HD9621 Turbostar. If you look on the last page of the Tasty Recipe Recipe Book which should have come with your airfryer, there is a list of accessories . The grill pan is the HD9940 and there is also the baking pan HD9925 :)
