Can't trust the unit
I had purchased acqa trio in Nov 2022 and it was working till Jan 2020. One of the unit display went off. I replaced battery but it still flashing. Went to bunnings and got replaced. But after 4 weeks both of the units stopped working despite displays on both are working. I checked with manual operation but it also did not let the water flow. Seems the valve not working. I had managemanaged to replace one of them yesterday but i misplaced receipt of second and bunnings denied for replacement... Can't trust this unit..

Disappointed!
I have just taken one of these back to supplier and get a refund as there were none in stock. Two of the three outlets worked, the middle one didn't on the timer settings - it did work on manual! I've have had previous frustrating episodes with these timers and only by changing my taps from valve and seat type to a hose cocktype could I get them to work. I have checked the water pressure and it is within stated tolerances. The only way I could get one of them to hold its settings was to shade it from direct sunlight so that it did not get too hot. Even then it lost the plot once.

just will not work no matter what i program
I just bought the Aquazone water timer from Bunnings. Wish I had read the reviews, It will not hold the program and the valve for outlet B is stuck open. I cannot shut it off. It will not recognise OFF setting. What a load of rubbish. I am returning it to Bunnings for a refund.

Not reliable
Worked great for 2 weeks. Then tap stopped letting water through! Panel said it was on but the mechanism inside didn’t release water. Bunnings swapped it over for new. Same thing happened again! They got in contact with customer service.... and they said that Pope customer care has never heard of this happening before!
Clearly after reading these reviews... they have come across this before... as many people have complained.... and they have replied to the complaints! I think someone is telling fibs! I guess I just have to keep on exchanging every few months!

Hi,
Thank you for your review and I'm sorry to hear that the Aquazone Trio Tap Timer has caused you such frustrations.... Read more
Unfortunately our Customer Service team have come across this issue from time to time with these tap timers. We have investigated this issue and the cause seems to be down to water pressure. If the water pressure is above 800 kPa then this causes problems with the mechanism of the unit. You can check the water pressure in your area by contacting your local water board. Regards, The Pope TeamThat’s a load of rot!
I switched the tap right down... and still has the same problem!
Plus... how can the first one not work... then the next 2 work all in that same hour.... or the next time the first 2 not work, but the last does.... Read more

Hi Frustrated,
Thank you for your reply. ... Read more
If you check on most tap timers, they do state not to go above a certain water pressure. Our engineering department here in the Adelaide warehouse tested some of the returned units under different water pressures and confirmed that 800 kPa or over, can damage the unit. On the other hand, it is likely that you have a faulty unit if it's not down to the water pressure. For the 1000's of these units we sell each year, we do get a small percentage returned as faulty. If this unit is still under warranty (1 year), and you have your receipt or proof of purchase, then you are entitled to a refund or an exchange at the place of purchase. Cant keep the correct time
I've had this for about 6 months, worked fine for first couple of weeks then the time reset to about 12H difference. changed the batteries to new ones again but its a recurring fault. I thought Pope was a good brand but have lost the Bunnings receipt so will just throw it out and look for a better brand, waste of $100.

DO NOT BUY!
Tested it in manual mode and it worked fine. Programmed it, worked fine, then went to adjust the times and it stopped working. Just makes a noise like a solenoid is trying to open.

Had enough
Have the trio timer and double. For some reason they stop working. Take it off, put it back on and may work for abit. Will be ringing pope. Saw state manager at Bunnings and discussed another problem, leaking. Said it shouldn't happen. Took it back to Bunnings and got a new one. Was over 12 months old. He was very helpful

Very disappointed in POPE - the programming is easy - but they are unreliability and don’t work after the first time. - I left to go on 2 weeks holidays came back to a dead garden. $5000 in Plants - shame on you!!

So far so good
After reading the reviews I was a bit sceptical but there were no other trio's on the market so I thought I would give it a go and so far cant fault it works perfectly through the 3 zones so here's hoping!!

Rubbish timer.
I put new batteries into the trio system I purchased yesterday to have the display flash with every icon constantly. Eventually it stopped flashing (15 mins) and I programmed it. Water comes out of tap B all the time. It is rubbish. Do not buy this Pope AquaZone Trio.

1st worked for 6 months then stopped, 2nd worked for 1 day and stopped
The display shows eveything as it should but the water does not deliver. I can hear and feel a slight click when it is trying to open and close but no water!
Back to Bunnings for a refund, I cannot afford to lose my garden.

Why didn't I look at the reviews before?
I had this unit for less than a month before it failed. Like many other reviews here it simply stopped delivering water. If you do want to tempt fate you may find the user interface is not intuitive and you'll be reaching for the very basic instructions if you want to do anything even as simply as turning on the tap manually.

Brilliant when they work properly
I have three of these units attached directly to reticulation. When they work the are brilliant however they don't seem to allow for water flow 'reliably. Every now and again the station wont let water through the unit. Guessing it is some sort of solenoid issue. this has happened to all three units and is very disappointing.

Terrible software and manual
I've had the unit for a year. It has worked without fault through that time, however I thought it might be malfunctioning and when I tried to check it, I came up against the terrible software and the manual that doesn't explain how to use it properly. I struggled with it when I first installed the unit, and I struggled again today. For a timer that operates three watering zones, you'd expect that the manual (a single sheet) would tell you how to program those three zones. It doesn't. It only tells you how to program the first zone and then say...Read more
s to program the other zones accordingly. The online video is the same. This would be fine if the software wasn't so clunky. Yes you program in zones 2 and 3, but when you scroll up it doesn't tell you that these zones are programmed. In fact the display indicates the default values, suggesting that it hasn't accepted the programming. I tried several times before deciding that the only way to test it was to run a test sequence (1 min on for each zone) while I was watching it. It worked OK. But really, when you program a consumer device, you'd expect that it would be easy to check the programming.Purchased in October 2021 at Bunnings Warehouse.

Doesn't work for long
Same issue as others have noted here. Stations don't open. Display shows that the station should be open and working but they don't open. Seems to be an internal issue with sticking closed.

Inferior product performance and reliability
I purchase 3 Pope aqua trio tap timers. Two have failed. On one, the solenoid makes a noise as tough it is opening the valve but no water comes out of the hose (The water is turned on at the tap hoses connected etc). The second one, the batteries last 1 week, then the message on the screen says battery low and will not turn on. So the timers have lasted 2 seasons ever though not used during the winter. (I like to hand water). I am going to buy something else to keep the garden watered when I go away on holidays again. There is just no peace of ...Read more

Things worked great for two months in both auto and manual mode. Now the unit does not work in manual mode. All looks okay on the panel when activated for manual watering but NO WATER!!! Waste of money. Very frustrating.

Solenoids stay open all the time-batteries replaced - this is second unit that has failed out side warranty period so not eligible for replacement but not happy with quality.
Any recommendation other similar none Pope/Toro products that will not fail outside warranty period but far too soon ?

I have installed the Trio, set it up as per the instructions but when I turn on the tap, one zone runs when it shouldn’t. The other two zones operate correctly. Any ideas?

Check your times are correct (AM/PM). But it sounds like the solenoid is stuck open.
Ultimately, return it if you can (read the reviews!).
I ended up returning mine as none of the solenoids would open, would just click but there was no flow. Bought a cheap single gated electronic timer and a 4 tap outlet which did the job whilst I was on holiday.

Hi I just started searching as my pope aquazone trio has been changing time since day one, never thought about bringing it back as I thought it was maybe caused by the sun.
So it is outside guarantee. Now I see that the unit is actually faulty, does Pope stand by its product and still exchange my unit for a non faulty one?
