There seem to be a number of complaints here about the failure of the solenoid on the Pope Aquazone Trio. I have the same problem. In my case the graphic on the panel shows the watering has commenced - but no water coming out. Tap is on! I first noticed this when the A zone stopped. But eventually, the B and C zones have stopped as well! Not happy!
Do I persist with returning under warranty? I probably haven't kept the receipt. Is there any way to identify the age of the unit from a serial number?

Hi Jaybee, not sure about serial numbers.. Receipts are best of course.. Unfortunately we didn't keep receipts so we just wrote it off as a bad investment and are now looking at Orbit systems. Good luck.

I think you're right. I might try to open it up, since it's virtually junk anyway.
I'll see if there's anything on the Whirlpool site.

Solenoids stay open all the time-batteries replaced - this is second unit that has failed out side warranty period so not eligible for replacement but not happy with quality.
Any recommendation other similar none Pope/Toro products that will not fail outside warranty period but far too soon ?

I have installed the Trio, set it up as per the instructions but when I turn on the tap, one zone runs when it shouldn’t. The other two zones operate correctly. Any ideas?

Check your times are correct (AM/PM). But it sounds like the solenoid is stuck open.
Ultimately, return it if you can (read the reviews!).
I ended up returning mine as none of the solenoids would open, would just click but there was no flow. Bought a cheap single gated electronic timer and a 4 tap outlet which did the job whilst I was on holiday.

Hi I just started searching as my pope aquazone trio has been changing time since day one, never thought about bringing it back as I thought it was maybe caused by the sun.
So it is outside guarantee. Now I see that the unit is actually faulty, does Pope stand by its product and still exchange my unit for a non faulty one?

Thank you for your question. Do you know how long the timer is out of warranty and do you still have a receipt?

I purchased one from Bunnings a few months ago and it worked fine. Until the batteries ran out, which is, in my mind, problem number 1! I would have expected the batteries to last longer than that, particularly since I will be going on a 6 week overseas trip.

Anyway, I replaced the batteries and re-installed the timer before going away for four days last weekend. It appeared to be working just fine. Upon my return, I discovered that although it appeared to be working and showed all the right things on the screen including an image of a running tap, no water was coming through!

Hey, after spending $99 for the darn thing, I do have an expectation that it works! Not happy!

Hi Trudi,

Thank you for your question and I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your tap timer. This shouldn't happen, it looks like your tap timer is faulty. There is a year warranty on this product, so if you still have your receipt or proof of purchase (a bank statement if you paid by card), then you are entitled to a refund or a replacement from Bunnings.

Dear Pope team - having personally had 2 of your Aquazone products fail - it might be high time you conduct a serious Engineering Review and QA assessment on your entire range of water computers. It is clear that any further faults will only damage what until now is a good brand reputation. Don't be surprised if all your customers who have had problems like Trudi and I have had and- just make the decision never to buy a Pope product again - now.. wouldn't that be a shame!

Hi
I bought three trio timers yesterday. Two of them run zone c continually when the tap is on regardless of setting. I have removed and replaced batteries but the water still runs, any ideas.
I already have three of these units running ok, only issue is that they randomly change the time of day

I would take them back and replace them. Better still, change to the Gardena water distributor. Has 6 stations that can be controlled by a single tap timer. I got rid of my pope trios as they were too unreliable. The Gardena system has been faultless so far.

Same issue we are all having. There seems to be a fundamental flaw with this model where the stations are not opening even though the display shows it should be open.

Anyone know why both zones keep turning on at the same time even though they are scheduled for different times. This happens both when put on manual mode and when it turns on automatically it’s now the third unit I have bought for this one tap only to have them all do the same thing. I don’t get the required pressure when both zones are on at the same time.

All settings have been done, water is turned on, switches in correct position but no water coming out to the hoses. Unit says it should be watering. I'd love advice on how to fix this. This is our 4th unit.

I spoke to customer support at Pope. They admitted there is a problem with this model. It's a design flaw, so no matter how many times you exchange the unit, it will probably still fail. They as of yet don't have a fix or a replacement product. They acknowledged that if the unit is in direct sunlight for some time in the day then the problems are exacerbated. Only option is a refund.
