Very bad design, poor quality
A light, precise, yet poorly designed mouse. I advise anyone NOT to take Razer material, the sliding pads fell from the mouse after 2 days of use (On a Razer mousepad, without making any stress-test)
After a month, the side grips fell off the mouse, and were very slippery. The LED software is programmable but very rough, not something to expect from +70$ material.
TLDR: A scammy mouse exploiting the "gaming" term to overprice itself.
Purchased at Boulanger for A$80.00.

Quite average, wouldn't buy again
A bit pricey for a mouse but I bought it thinking it might last for years. Should have checked which country it was made unfortunately. The movement is actually OK and has worked well. Problem is the central wheel button stopped working only 3 or 4 months in (scroll works but not click). A work around is to re-assign another button but this is a clunky process with a program that has to slowly load and log in every time the computer starts! Daft. In recent days one of the plastic panels on the side has fallen off, seems it wasn't glued properly in manufacture. This thing is a $25 product sold at three times the price. I'll be avoiding this brand.
Purchased in June 2021 at MSY Technology for A$70.00.

Great while it lasts ....which is not long at all.
I'm not a gamer but I understand the Razer mouse is popular with gamers because of its sensitivity, control and accuracy. I must admit these qualities are apparent for my everyday use and I noticed a palpable difference between this and the "ordinary garden gnome" mouse. Obviously you're paying substantially more for the Razer.
The downside though, is durability. The "ordinary garden gnome mouse" wins hands down when it comes to longevity.
I have had 5 Razer Death Adders in the space of 6 years....they simply just stop working or are no longer recognised by the system.
It wasn't until another started playing up and I took stock of how many I'd gone through that I have decided to look at an alternative brand.

TERRIBLE MOUSE
Terrible mouse, in a bad way. Although I've been using a Microsoft mouse since ages, so quite terrible mouse, first day using this mouse, the teflon pads ripped off the RAZER mousepad I bought with. I insist on "Razer mousepad", the largest one.
I also really mean "First day" when I say it, now the pads are scratching when moving the mouse around. Precision is not a criteria when you pay more than 50$ for a mouse, precision is always good above these prices.
Plastic looking, only two buttons for the thumb. I've read reviews speaking about the soft plastic part falling apart, but that's not my case.
100/100 the worst deal I've ever made in my computer buyings history

great mouse, poor quality
i have been using this mouse for several years and it has worked great for tracking but it is at end-of-life and really disappointed in some of the poor quality aspects.
pros:
- good ergonomic design
- great value for quality
- rgb settings
cons:
- the colour is not the same between the scroll and the base despite being set the same in synapse
- the rubber grip on the side is just glued on and came off after a year or two. ...Read more

Seriously Good Mouse
I bought the black edition of this mouse in 2013 and still using it today. Didn't really like the flashing lights so it was perfect for me. The rubber grips and coating has begun to wear out due to usage but the buttons and tracking still are good. The mouse just feels great to use. I may be not a serious gamer but I do enjoy a casual FPS now and then.
The razer synapse software also makes it easy to import your sensitivity settings to other computers so you don't have to worry about losing your configurations. I imagine most gaming mouses ...Read more
have this functionality too though. When this mouse eventually stops working, the Razer Deathadder Elite will probably be replacing it. Do beware of fakes and check model numbers when buying online.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

A Gamer's Dream
I just recently purchased the Razer DeathAdder for my Teenage Son (Total Gamer) It has often been regarded as one of the top gaming mice. Razer has focused on incremental upgrades without ever changing what makes the DeathAdder beloved by so many. The mouse preserves the same comfortable and ergonomic design that we know, with a few improvements inside and out, most importantly endurance. The Deathadder tracks movement with flawless accuracy, its buttons are large and offer just enough resistance while responding with a satisfying click; its ...Read more
notched scroll wheel feels and works great. The left and right click buttons feature subtle grooves for your fingers to rest, which not only helps with comfort but also with quick lateral movements. They offer fast actuation times and provide a satisfying click. lighting system looks nice and isn’t tacky nor it screams gamer. Light comes from the scroll wheel and logo on the back and can be configured to 16.8 million different colors, as well as synchronized with other Razer gear (keyboard, headphones) with Chroma backlighting. The Razer DeathAdder is an excellent gaming mouse that works phenomenally for day to day work, too. Totally Recommend buying the Razer Mouse - perfect for any type of GamingSimilar opinion? Great Mouse, Very comfortable
Great Price, the mouse is super easy and comfortable to use constantly, The extra buttons are convenient for gamers needing extra buttons, no need to worry about pressing them accidentally either.

Nice gaming mouse!
I bought this mouse back in 2013.
Still working great! Very durable.
The decorative lighting isn't too bright and flashy (which is what I kinda prefer) but it still looks nice nonetheless.
Sensitivity and DPI is excellent for gaming, obviously.
Sensitivity, lighting, button controls and DPI settings can also be adjusted with the Razer Cortex program.
Sucks that you need to download the software to do it properly, but its worth it at the end.
The program is user friendly.
It also has two additional buttons on its side which can have custom controls.
Excellent product, good value! Worth getting!

piece of trash
I'd recommend not bothering with the Razer deathadder 3.5 gaming mouse as it moves the right too easy as it's sensitive as however, this problem can be fixed by placing majic tape over the optical sensor located at the base of the gaming mouse

Works perfectly and it just looks great
Well, it has a lot of options to customize it's performance so everyone can adjust it to work better with the game they're playing. It's comfortable to use and looks really cool too.
To be honest, the price is worth it, i don't have anything negative to say about this mouse.

Too delicate - for princesses only
Microswitch mounts made for princesses. Lots of people get frustrated in games - make the mice to suit the inevitable mouse slam. Last one I purposely smashed into many pieces against a brick wall so I don't waste my time returning it for another (that "it just fell apart" would probably be a bit hard to believe).

Poor tracking, not a good mouse
This mouse has such poor tracking on so many surfaces compared to all the other mouse I have. Even my $5 Chinese cheapies track much better on my computer desk than this. My desk has a black textured surface designed to be used as a mouse pad, any mouse should be able to track on it properly, but the Deathadder 2013 loses tracking constantly, skips and jumps to different places on the screen, just woeful. It might work ok with razer's mouse pads, but I haven't found a single regular surface it works well on. I ended up going back to my logitech...Read more
VX nano, which has brilliant tracking on the same surface, despite being much older than the razer. All in all, I am now officially done with razer products, overpriced, poor performance, dodgy firmware (I have the Black Widow Chroma with the wonderful sticky keys firmware bug), buggy software, ridiculously over packaged with huge amounts of plastic. There's just nothing good about razer products compared to the competition.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Don't buy it. Do yourself a favor and buy any other mouse but this.
All these positive reviews about it a lie because it feels nice on the hand and looks cool. This mouse forces you to click scroll. If you play any game that has a scroll zoom in option it won't let you because it's ONLY scroll click. Can't just scroll up or down, nah you gotta push down the scroller and move your mouse up or down to scroll. Gives you a million different options and settings for scrolling but the normal way. I personally would hand you my DeathAdder mouse for free if I knew you. It's that bad.

Great Mouse
Other People say that this mouse is horrible because its made out of plastic, or they don't use the 2 buttons on the side but they are terribly, TERRIBLY wrong. I've been using the Deathadder 2013 Edition for 1 year now and its just Perfect, it helps me a lot with gaming, e.g Counter Strike, i use the Buttons on the side to use for the mic instead of having to press the keyboard. It helps Tremendously. The software (Razer Synapse 2.0) is great for configuring the DPI or whatever you need to do with it, and its stupidly easy to use. The rubber g...Read more
rips on the lower sides don't help so much, but it makes it comfortable while playing. The sensor is really accurate and quick to react. All the buttons work after the many hours of play and fits perfectly in the palm of my hand. I would recommend this Mouse to anyone who is starting to game.Similar opinion? Outright terrible
Flimsy plastic, feels very cheap and build quality is poor. Functionally it's horrible -- the side buttons tend to be unreliable and often don't work, and will also often have an enormous delay when used for DPI switching. The left-click will sometimes randomly double click when I single click, which is absolutely infuriating. A complete rip-off, a $5 mouse in a shiny coat of paint.
The only saving grace is in its aesthetic design which is not much to speak of considering it's one of the least important parts on hardware.

Fail
Known issue with Macs that Razer have failed to solve since OS 10.5. Keeps resetting to slowest tracking speed every time you log out. Only seems to affect with Razer DeathAdder. The software that comes with it ur sub-standard and doesn't sole the problem either. SteelSeries are better in every way.

Perfect for a gamers
Great for everyday use and for gaming. I play Starcraft 2 at a high level which requires the absolute precision in the heat of the moment. The 6500 DPI allows me to control perfectly. I hve also owned the previous versions and the 2013 edition with grip does make a difference. Razer mouse is the one thing razer can make well as you can tell the put effort into its simplistic but advanced design.
Really good ergonomic design
the 2 side buttons i have never used and never will

deathadder 2013 edition review
For the style of gaming that i do, and the ergonomics that i demand from a mouse, the razer deathadder has been the best mouse i have ever used. I have tried many mouses from different brands but found the deathadder to have the most comfortable grip along with precision and a good price as well.
I have been using the black edition deathadder for around 2 years. i recently upgraded and bought the 2013 edition deathadder and i was very impressed and satisfied with my purchase. I am very happy that razer didnt change the shape or size of the m...Read more
ouse, they just added different textures and grips and also improved the infrared sensor. The buttons click better, the scroll wheel feels tighter and my most favorite upgrade would have to be the thumb grip they have added under the foward/back buttons. This makes it so much better to do quick movements when playing fps shooter games. I found a significant increase in my game and i would highly reccomend this mouse for anyone who hasnt tried it. Just to add, this mouse in my opinion is suited for persons with larger hands, who play using palm grip. A good mouse pad is also reccomended to get the most out of the mouse. Same original design but just tweaked for perfection nothing. its a great mouseSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
