Great for women to use

published

I had never mowed a lawn before I got this, as traditional lawn mowers are too heavy & too big for me to push around (I'm just over 5 foot tall/short!). So, this weighs about as much as a 3/4 full shopping trolley to me, and is easy for me to use. I have a huge amount of lawn to mow (around 900 m2) so the battery of course doesn't last that long- it would be good if it could! That said, when the battery needs a recharge, so do I- and I don't mind stopping for a while and charging it up. Thumbs up from me Ryobi- bring on more garden tools for short people/people who aren't that strong- most of them are made for big burley blokes.

Great mower and good cut

published

I admit I love this cordless mower. This is the new model and handlebar has changed. I found my hands do get sore having to hold in the safety switch, however there are 4 so relatively easy to change grip and let the hands relax. First time with long grass I needed to recharge as it does slightly struggle to cut, otherwise mowing normal growth is easy. Impressed with this machine. Less one star for missing grunt with longer grass though gained star for improved battery now 4 amp. Also like the collapsible grass catcher. Made of plastic though it seems pretty solid.
Styling, cordless and good charge
Struggles a bit with thick/long grass. Price

Very happy with my Ryobi

Mowing lawn today using RLM3640L 36v mower. Hit a high spot and the motor stopped (stalled). Moved it off the high spot but cannot get it to restart. Have tried the suggestions here but still no go. I have continuity from battery to start buttons and shows 4 green lights. Removable fuse tested OK. Motor hand turns freely. Any ideas to get it started / reset?

I have just bought one and used it once - same problem, with thick grass or an obstacle, it stalls. I found that if you wait and persist, it starts again.

Take it back to where you bought it. They will know / replace it.

Thanks for the replies. I have already tried the first suggestion when I saw it on other threads and here as well - no good. The mower was bought September 2013, so it is a couple of months out of the 5 year warranty. We have looked for repairers here in Australia other than the retailer. Now looking at modifying the operation of the mower (if possible) before scrapping it.

How can I release the battery in the mower? I have had this mower for 4 years and this has never happened before.
