My baby is 5.5month old and I need to buy another can of formula. I only feed baby one bottle of formula a day (hubby does a night feed) so a can of formula lasts forever and I usually throw it out after 4 weeks of opening. Should I buy another can of newborn or progress seeing that my baby is almost 6 months?

My bubba was the same, had really bad diarrhea and after couple of days I figured it was the S26 2. I switched back to NB and he's was fine.. he's now 10months and I tried S26 2 again and he's now been vomiting ☹️. Just switch back to NB today and he's good. Don't know what's in that formula but it's no good for my wee man.

I think the best thing to do is to consult your maternal health nurse. He may need to be on a different formula now he is older but worth checking with a professional

My daughter takes this formula but I am overseas in Pakistan, can you recommend me milk with the same formula?

All formulas are made differently so my recommendation would be to google what the ingredients are in S26 gold and compare them to those available in Pakistan. There's bound to be something at least close :)

6 months is the correct age to start progress.
She will also drop a bottle a day now she's on solids so what your describing is normal :)

My just stard formula s26 gold progress, make him constipation, what can i do? Should i change to other formula, or have other solution? But i change 3kind of formula..

Hi there, I would definately change to another formula :) its very unsettling for bub to have constipation all the time. If you have tried others like I did, maybe check for a dairy intolerance or lactose intolerance, I ended up trying the holle organic formulas in Goat and normal and the Bellamy's formula and they eased the constipation. I hope this helps :)

Hi there, my baby boy is 3 months old today and has been on s26 gold since he was 2 weeks old he is feeding settling and growing perfectly but I was just wondering if I need to change him from step 1 to step 2? Are there any extra nutrients that he needs that are in step 2?

1 answer
Shelley69
Shelley69

Hi there, stage 2 formulas are suitable from 6 months of age, and there are numerous differences in them, I think one of the most common being the casein / whey balance, I found bub had less constipation from stage 1 but he was hungrier if kept on it. The other thing that will make a difference is if you are introducing solids and what types of solids bub is eating. My bub decided that he would not eat meat even when hidden, and still won't now, so needed formula for the iron :) I have done so much research on baby formulas since my bub had constipation on most of them and have found that formulas containing ferrous sulphate in them constipated him, where formulas containing ferrous lactate didn't (normally found in organic formulas) my bub has just turned 2, and I have kept him on formula rather than store bought milk due to the sugar content in it. I also won't give him stage 3 formulas (with the exception of Holle), due to the manufacturers adding sugar to them. I hope this helps x

Hi there, I don't know if they are made the same in Australia and Singapore but blood is not good at all, I would either go back to the previous formula the baby was on or change to another formula, I hope this helps and you sort the problem out xx
