6000$ premium for pathetic upscaling and higher electricity bill
All smoke and mirrors, if you don't trust independent reviewers (eg https://www.flatpanelshd.com/focus.php?subaction=showfull&id=1563529662 "Based on our examination of the first 8K TVs there is nothing to gain from upscaling HD or 4K content") do yourself a favor - go to HN Chadstone and compare Q900R 8K side-by-side with 4K Samsung or LG when playing 4K Foxtel - no difference (just very high wattage ie your power bill).
Don't trust Samsung marketing which could make you think you will be watching native 8K content on this TV and THEN this 8...Read more
K screen will make any difference. When Samsung says "you will watch next moon landing in 8K on this TV" they dont mean you would watch it on YouTube in 8K or by downloading 8K footage. NO. Samsung mean (and it comes from Samsung head of this TV tech support) that when SBS will be showing next moon landing in 480i, Q900R glorified Quantum processor will blow single 480i pixel 108 times so 480p stream will "occupy" entire 8K display. Any currently available native 8K content: 8K Youtube, 8K movies by independent studios, 8K high-res science in space from NASA - nothing can be played by this TV. Why? Samsung says these providers are all using "incorrect" codecs, i.e. this TV simply doesn't support codecs which are required (like 8K VP9 used by YouTube). Q900R doesnt support native 8K content now and never will, as with next year 8K TVs batch it will become defunct and abandoned same as what Samsung did with previous generation of SmartTVs they promised to upgrade each year with the "evolution kit"...Purchased in June 2021 for A$13,500.00.

Just ask your head of this 8K TV support or samsung VOC - they said this false marketing is perfectly normal and nothing can be done

Why you shouldn't buy 2022 Q900R
This TV cant play anything in native 8K resolution (forget about 8K videos downloaded from NASA or YouTube 8K demos - not even Atmos sound from YouTube, all other streaming apps - same story) and it WILL not play anything in 8K never ever - just read 19Jul2019 review of this TV at https://www.flatpanelshd.com/focus.php?subaction=showfull&id=1563529662 titled "Why you shouldn't buy an 8K TV in 2022". Complete waste of money!

Not 8K SmartTV, no support for current and future 8K content
By Samsung design Q900R cant play any native 8K content from YouTube (doesnt support 8K VP9) and other streaming video providers or 8K video available on the net.
Per chief tech support for TV/sound from Samsung Australia you can only watch 8K content in 3 different ways:
1. Book Samsung technician coming to your house with top secret Samsung proprietary 8K HEVC demo videos (cant copy them, you can watch them while technician will put his USB into the TV)
2. Take the TV to Japan to watch existing 8K broadcast from some vendor
3. Use computer w...Read more

8k TV that cant play anything 8k and with DLNA that only plays video from NAS or PC in 1080p
Dont buy this 8K junk it can only play 1080p files!
Wasted 14k$ on 82" only to find out that if you try to play any video from your PC or NAS over network the TV can only play 1080p (that's right only HD video stream as confirmed by Samsung Australia for this SMART TV DLNA connectivity!). None of the TV streaming apps can play anything above 4k so if you are dreaming about YouTube 8k samples - forget it: the TV will only download and play 4k stream. The TV doesnt support Dolby Atmos/DTS-X in most apps, I also wasted another 2k$ on 2022 Samsung ...Read more
