Vacuum Cleaners Buying Guide
Our buying guide will explain which type of vacuum cleaner would suit you most, how much you can expect to pay for one, and which features are worth looking out for.

6 Stars - Very, Very Impressive Machine
My daughter has recently started her own little cleaning business in our local area and was using our $500 Miele vacuum that we had been very happy with over the past 4 years. However, I decided to take her to Godfreys @ Rockingham (WA) to just 'look' at what else was available and price range with no intention to buy on the day.
Anyway, we explained to Liam we wanted to look at a vacuum that would REALLY clean well for my daughters use with her business and he showed us the Sauber SE-400. We were absolutely amazed with the demonstration and...Read more
now wanted to know how much....$2,500 GRAND!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!! However, they organised a direct debit payment plan at only $65 per fortnight and we bought it on the spot. On the way home we discussed if the actual real use would work as well as the demo as they normally do with most products, we where slight unsure if we had made the right buying decision. Well, as soon as we unpacked it, assembled it, read the instructions, we where ready to go. Keep in mind, our carpet at home has been regularly cleaned every 2 weeks with our Miele so we did not expect much dirt, hair or other crap to come out of this carpet. Myself, the wife and our daughter were absolutely ASTONISHED by the results. this machine picked up a whole soup bowl size of filth from the lounge and small dining room. We could not believe what we were seeing in front of us, the results are just outstanding.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Puts the rest to shame
Like others we did not set out to purchase this product, in fact we were after a carpet shampooer. We were taken through the various stages of cleaning and quickly realised that while our Hoover Aura II was perfect for what we needed with hard floors it was now only just scratching the surface of our carpeted house.
We purchased ours happily thinking of the benefits and the superior performance we would get, while also feeling we got a good deal. The purchase price is very expensive and I would have never in my wildest dreams have thought I ...Read more
would spend the price of a used car on a vacuum cleaner, but I can report that for the last 7 hours we have vacuumed our 3 bedroom house and the bag is almost completely full!!!! I think it is important to note that we vacuum our house 1-2 times per week with the Aura II. Based on the in-store demonstrations we were expecting big things but this simply surpassed those expectations. A little scary really that so much 'stuff' was residing in our carpet. This model also came with 5 year warranty and free 10 years servicing. If you are wanting a vacuum that you want to last (only time will tell for us but 5 year warranty is reassuring) and that does an amazing job on all surfaces (ask the sales person for a demonstration - we were in store asking questions and trying different levels against our current model for over 2 hours) I will vouch for the performance; as will the other reviewers it would seem. Long term investment, but well worth the expense.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Sauber Excellence SE-400 from Godfrey's Prahran
Godfrey's Prahran has been so helpful fixing my vacuum cleaner over the past 20 years however now it's life is over. Now I have the Sauber Excellence and LOVE it! The power head is brilliant and makes the carpet look new again. The Sauber sucks up more than my old vac ever did and is satisfying to use. Thank you Godfrey's Prahran for your wonderful service and care over the last 20 years.

Just bought but first impressions -Great!
We returned to Godfreys on Chapel Street Prahran 7 years after we bought our last vacuum cleaner. Sadly we learnt that the gentleman who looked after us then had passed away earlier this year. But it was envigorating to meet his 28-year old son, Avi, who has taken the reigns with aplomb. His knowledge, passion and dedication to his business should be bottled. We were not planning to buy a new vac, we only went to have a routine service on our perfectly good Vac. But we are very happy we did.
The Sauber Excellence, we were told, is very new (...Read more
I think this is its first review, at least in Oz). At around $2,500 you gulp at first. Thanks to Avi's sales skills we left feeling we definitely made a good investment. Having used it for almost half a day non stop putting it through all its paces and testing its 'unrivalled' features, praised at length by Avi, we feel we certainly made a good choice. Our last Vac was a very good one Wertheim (the last model made in Switzerland). It still is. We will pass it on to my daughter. The Sauber Excellence is truly in a clas of its own. Every function is better than anything we have had before. We are probably on the extreme end of fastidiousness in cleaning. We first thought it was an indulgence. It's not. You only appreciate how average something is when you experience something a cut above. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? You bet. In Molly Meldrum's words: Do yourself a favour, go out and buy one.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

We have just purchased a Sauber Excellence Machine and have had no instruction on how to use it as it was delivered to our door. When using the powerhead the green light is on regardless whether it is on 1 2 3 or 4.
Brush is spinning however grit is coming up over the top of powerhead. What is the cause of this?
