Cream is liquid
I purchased a tube of Savlon Cream in the past month only to find that the contents were liquid. I returned it to supermarket for a refund and purchased another brand instead. There must be an issued with this batch which slipped through quality control.
Purchased in July 2021 at Woolworths Physical store for A$7.30.

Savlon cream is a waste of money
I bought a 50 g savlon antiseptic cream two weeks ago. The content is so watery that calling it a cream is truly a lie. The tube mouth is too wide, so the watery stuff just flows all over the lid every time it is opened. The very thin consistency of the so-called cream does not stay on the wound. It simply drips away, rendering it useless for treatment. The Dettol antiseptic cream that I have used for many, many years is no longer sold at chemists, and this is the first time I ever bought a Savlon. What a waste of money!
Also, the Savlon's cou...Read more
ntry of production is nowhere to be found on the paper packaging or on the tube itself. Is it because the country of production is so inferior that Reckitt Benckiser is ashamed to name it despite contravening the relevant Australian law?Purchased in August 2021 for A$6.00.

It worked well years ago. There are much better products out there now.
I remember having Savlon applied to cuts & scratches etc, as a child. It worked good then. It was the only thing around to buy. My days of using Savlon are long gone now. Good thing too, cos I never did like the smell of it..They must of changed it during the last few years because it doesn't work as well now as it used to. And the price they charge for it! About $8.00 I think I saw in Woolies when I was in the medicinal aisle last week. It contains nasty ingredients too, that I don't want to put on my body.

fective. Is made from the calendula flower. A jar of this can be found at Chemist Warehouse. Its not cheap, about $12. But it lasts & lasts, so is well worth the money. Stings a tiny bit when first applied, but the sting soon disappears. Heals up cuts, burns, scratches, pimples, nappy rash etc very quickly. And helps stop infections. I wouldn't be without it. There is calendula cream in a jar, & I've also seen calendula cream in a tube. I much prefer to buy my calendula cream in the jar.Purchased in October 2021.

Trusted by generations, and still going strong!
Savlon is one of those products which I suspect we take for granted.
I have used it for many years, and it always has been of consistent quality and utility.
There may be other brands of antiseptic cream, but Savlon offers a level of consistency and effectiveness which means I continue to use it.

Have they added sand to the product
Have used Savlon for years, recently purchased 3 tubes and all 3 have some sort of grainy material in it.
Totally useless for any sensitive areas or any sort of burn.

OMG... what have they done to my Savlon?
Been using this Savlon cream for 50 years. (ok, now you know I am an old fella) and it has served me well. I would always make sure there was 3-4 tubes of it around as I would always get hurt at work.My wife was about to throw them all away because they date back 10 years lol, but I saved them in my work ute glove box. So glad I did, because the replacement tubes (2) are both crap. I thought it was a defective tube, so I open the other one also... and its just the same. After reading these comments now, I can see the Savlon days are over since ...Read more
it looks like the Chinese have corrupted it like everything else they touch. Now I am using Collodial Silver Gell which comes in a 100ml push top bottle, and so works out much less, and most of all it works fine for just about anything. So in a way I am grateful Savlon have stuffed up, because had it not, I would never have found this awesome alternative... Thanks Savlon haha. I can recommend others to follow suit. I will hold on to my outdated Savlon tubes till I get sick of looking at them haha.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
New tube + contents inferior quality.
I have used Savlon for many years but I was very disappointed with the new tube I recently purchased.
1. The tube is the same size but the contents are only 40g, not the usual 56g
2. The cream is much runnier presumably because more water is being used in the recipe.
3. The tube seems to be made of an inferior material and has already cracked.

Virtually unusable
Much like almost every other review the word apparently 'cream' describes the colour only rather than the texture. The stuff was normal when I first used it after purchase but in the last month it has sat in the cupboard it appears to have changed into a milky watery liquid. Lost half of it down my arm when I tried to treat a cut and it now completely unusable for the intended purpose.
The only way to salvage this tube is to use the liquid when soaking gauze. I will be changing brand when I next buy with nothing but a wistful glance over my should at what the product used to be back when it was still good.

Why a tube?
I'm almost 75. Been using Savlon as long as I can remember. I've just bought my last tube. That watered down rubbish you call Savlon these days is no longer on my shopping list. It should be sold in a bottle as a lotion. Calling it a cream is false advertising. Reckitt Benkiser should be sued for deceptive advertising.

It seems the packaging for Savlon Cream will remain the same!!
I contacted Reckitt Benckiser on 9.4.2017 regarding the issues with their Savlon Cream (The issues were the cream is watery unlike what it used to be like as a cream and the tube that it comes in develops leaks and has to be thrown out). It was a 2 Page Letter and they did reply as well as including 2 x Complimentary Tubes of Savlon Cream. I pointed out in one whole paragraph that there were many comments on the site Product Review - most of them negative - and also that it appeared that this site was not monitored by Reckitt Benckiser - but th...Read more
eir return letter made no mention of this whatsoever. Their reply was the standard reply - We value our customers - We will pass this on to the people responsible - and thanks for your letter. That was it!! Don't hold out hope that they will sit up and take notice of the issues I detailed - and the issues detailed on Product Review. I suspect that by now they are fully aware of the issue with the leaking tubes - but I guess if people are throwing away these tubes when they start leaking - that they are only using approx. 2/3 thirds of this product - maybe good for business!! Anyway I did try ....... Looking for alternatives at the moment and will keep you posted if I come across something similar and worthwhile!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Looks like they ruined it.
Given the recent reviews I won't buy it. I know it was a staple in my parent's medicine cupboard but it won't be in mine. I'll look for another brand.

I have always had Savlon in my cupboard - used to swear by it.
Now it's so runny it pours like liquid rather than the former cream which was squeezed out?? What's going on please>
Also although it has Reckitt Benkiser on the tube as manufacturer - when I tried to find it in their products - search failed??
Please explain what is going on? You owe it to the customers who 'couldn't live without it!'

Works but Lumpy?
I have used Savlon for many years; I use it daily as after shaving my neck tends to rash, as does other areas that constantly rub together. It doesn't have a strong smell like other similar ointments. More recently, in every tube for awhile now, I have found small hard lumps; like grains of sugar, which aren't ideal when I'm using in 'rubbing' areas. It should be a smooth cream.

CREAM ??????
Have used Savlon for as long as I can remember and now it has gone like every other brand too watery to call cream. SHAME ON YOU ALL . It has no effect on cuts and bruises now because it just runs down your leg, arm or face.

Too watery to call Cream
Have always used Savlon but after a recent purchase found it far too watery and won't be buying another. It's a shame this product has gone the way many others have. The water component is constantly leaking from the tube and it doesn't apply as well as when it was a thicker cream.

IS THIS A TUBE OF SEMEN OR SAVLON ?. DESTROYED IN CHINA AS USUAL !
I was in need of some Savlon the other day as I had a few mossy bites and was devastated when I opened the tube.
For half a bloody century Savlon has been the bees knees of antiseptic cream but not any more.
When I cracked the lid and squeezed the tube, it sprayed like a weeks worth of seminal fluid - with the same consistency and colour.
I ended up doing some research and found Savlon is now made in China - or as I say, DESTROYED IN CHINA.
Its going back to the chemist and I wont be buying Savlon anymore.

Just awful
I am a lifelong savlon user. Just got a new tube of savlon and it is runny like the runniest of moisturisers. Spilt everywhere when I opened the tube. It is impossible to get some out of the tube without it going everywhere. Nothing like the tube I got last year. What is going on? Will be switching brands for sure.

Bring back the original formula
The Savlon I used had been sitting in my medicine cabinet for 10 years and it worked a treat when all other treatments failed. The main complaint I read in other reviews here is that the product isn't as effective as it once was. Simple solution. Return to the original formula, and strength.
