Warranty issue
I put a deposit on a new computer system on the 6 of may 2022 and paid and picked up on the 17th. On the date of pick up the computer was advertised $100 cheaper than purchase price so I sent an email asking for a credit but no reply. The keyboard failed on the 8th of may 2020. Scorptec said keyboard was out of warranty, but cooler master web site says 2 years on keyboards, and it would take up to two weeks to investigate claim. Try home schooling 4 kids with no computer.
I’ve recommended this store to a few of my mate even after the no reply after purchase but are unlikely to ever do again.

Very good experience getting a custom PC built
The online system builder was very helpful, as was the website. The process of ordering was good, communication was good. Despite Covid-19, components were sourced quickly and the the build was done two days ahead of the first ETA. The pick-up process was good, and clearly with a lot of focus on staff safety.
Most importantly, the machine was well built and well packed. I am very pleased with the process.

Warranty repair took weeks and I had to hound them.
Brought in my comp (made by Scorptec 3 years prior) to diagnose and fix it a noise issue. I left machine with them for 8 days to investigate and hopefully fix the issue and to contact me asap with any decision that might be needed (I was traveling). Called them 5 days later as I had not heard from them. Was told it was being looked at and I would get a call. No call and after calling them again on day 8 they FINALLY looked at my comp. me a new one, they were going to make me wait while the warranty processed. But not to worry they would fast track that for me. 4 days later I receive an email that they had STARTED the warranty process . At the 3 week mark I called again, finally having had enough. 2 days later they did what they should have done all along which is replace the pump and deal with the warranty issue internally. Good stuff: They have a good sales team and the initial computer build was great. Staff are mostly knowledgeable and polite, both sales and technical. Bad stuff: Slow turn around on support requiring customers to follow up rather than being proactive. Don’t consider customer impact when doing repairs. I will probably never take my computer back for repairs and will shop around for my next computer build as it appears their warranty process is not customer focused.1 comment

Competitive prices and fair dinkum customer service
I naively bought a razer keyboard with ‘green switches’. After opening the plastic seals on the box I realised the keys were too loud, closed it up again and called Scorptec to discuss a swap. They agreed but didn’t tell me they would charge me 15% - in the end they nullified the extra cost of swapping which was good of them

Great store overall as competition to the other discount computer store
If you are sick of using that three letter word computer store, scorptec is a great alernative, while the staff are friendlier, the process of being in store could be a bit better, the postage charges were higher then expected so I went in store to pick up, overall will use these guys before anyone else.

Patient, excellent customer service
Shaun and Thomas have been great helping me navigate various issues in my new mini audio production pc build. This was my first AMD build, and I had various questions specific to building around that.
The memory kit i ordered was faulty, and shaun took it back without hesitation, and answering my various questions about brand optimizations and replacements.
My cougar case apparently needed a specific power plug orientation but didnt specify or recommend even of their own brand. So of course the power supply didnt fit. Thomas sorted me with a replacement, no dramas and no fees.
Finally got my pc in order, the advice i received has been sound, and I really am grateful for the kind and patient service.

Excellent range and service
My first purchase from Scorptec was a bit over a year ago, had them custom build a PC for me, rather than going with one of their prebuilt options I simply stated all the items I wanted and had them put it together.
They did a fantastic job, the build was clean and neat, great cable management. The PC is still going great as you would hope and expect. Have bought several items since, never had any issues.

Excellent Service & Advice
Went & visited the Clayton Branch to purchase some parts for a new PC build. I had no intention of getting the whole system there but the service & advice from Alex P was fantastic. Now I have a PC which is an absolute beast! It plays everything & anything on Ultra Settings.
I will definitely be back again if I need more PC parts, just because of the service.

Absolutely terrible service
After speaking to a tech about the help I needed ( and was told it very very easy and they could sort it out ) I went to store at South Melbourne the following day . I was told it was best to go in the morning so I organised to take the morning off work . I arrived early and waited for the store to open at 9:30 . This is the worst service that I have ever come across . I will never consider using Scorptec again and I will also make sure that my friends and family hear about the terrible effort that the staff of Scorptec put in for me and I lost half a days pay ! Dishonoring of Order
I bought an Aorus X570 Master but was given an Aorus X570 Pro model due to an online error. In correspondence duing the collection stages, they added a Pro. I contacted them stating that I ordered a Master, they responded, confirming I ordered a Master and had been added to my order. Upon collection it was still a Pro which is when they admitted an online error. Faulty card RMA rejected after 1 month of usage
So I bought almost a whole set of parts to build my first PC from Scorptec except for the case and Nvme costing over 3k.
After 1 month of problem free, the computer suddenly crashes mid game. After self-diagnosing + contacting Scorptec support, the issue points toward bad Zotac RTX2080 or PSU.
They first told me to return the graphics card for them to assess, which took 15 days and was told that my RMA is rejected because no fault found.

of the graphics card and could not replicate any problems across a significant range of testing setups and configurations. As mentioned, we replaced the power supply as a precautionary measure. If we are able to find any problem with the graphics card we are more than happy to provide a remedy.Hi,

Outstanding - products, service, price
These guys blitz when it comes to product, service and price. I'm not a techie or gamer, but need high performance computing for my work. I use scorptec for OEM equipment, aftermarket upgrades, aftermarket servicing and peripherals. I was even waiting in store at Clayton when an irate woman came in to the service desk, dropped a very large gamer's computer on the counter, and started berating the service technician for putting a password on the machine that was 90 days later stopping little Johnny from playing minecraft. A warranty experience that doesn't suck? How novel!
Went to Scorptec in South Melbourne on Thursday to pick up an LG 34WK95U-W. The guy there was super helpful in explaining their two-week Dead-on-arrival policy, after I inquired as to how they'd handle screen consistency issues.
Got home, noticed a weird greyish green streak of what presumably is some kind of lamination issue that only stood out on dark grey backgrounds(ie photoshop, 3d software, everything production related).
Packed up the panel and took it back in today.

Sells a defective motherboard
Bought a z390 aorus pro wifi motherboard from them, and three weeks later I suddenly got a BSOD; since then my whole PC can't boost into bios anymore. I reset the CMOS and found out that I cannot run my RAM at the XMP frequency anymore. My RAM features Samsung B-die, the best out there on the market, meaning it is impossible to be unable to work at the specified frequency. Obviously this is the motherboard's fault. This this a really frustrating experience.

Unpleasant warranty claim experience.
I bought a Motherboard, Power supply, CPU and GPU from Clayton store. Within 2 months the motherboard was dead. When claiming, they cheated me horribly.
They promised me to call me and update about progress within one week, but did not. Then I went the store and checked the progress. They said that I'll get back the item repaired within 30 days. After 30 days I contacted them and asked for update. They said still the board in repairing stage and I'll be updated once it is repaired. Hi Declan, if you place and pay for your order through our website our system should notify you if there is any stock that needs to be delivered to the store. If the stock is available locally this generally takes 1-2 business days, and you will be notified of the expected time frames once the order is processed.
When picking up your order you just need to give one of our sales team your order number or account information and present some government issued photo ID for verification. All orders picked up at our Macquarie Park that are over $100 in value qualify for the spin and win.
