Fabulous straightener even for thick curly hair
I swore by GHD until I found this. The GHD was good and when I bought my first one it was so much better than anything on the market.
The Silver Bullet Keratin feels so much more comfortable in my hand, heats up quickly and best of all copes with my thick curly hair. Other straighteners I tried seemed to do the job but within 1-2 hours my hair no longer looked and felt smooth and perfectly straight.
I do find I need to touch up the following day but that is generally because I am a warm sleeper so my hair is a little moist the next morning.
Definitely recommend.

10 years and counting
It heats up in seconds and is very light to hold. It has a base that rolls up so you can put the hair straighterner on. I have thick hair and does wonders.
Have had it for 10 yrs and still going stronge.

Perfect hair straightener.
It heats up immediately & does the job its supposed to do, unlike other brands I've used.
So very easy to use & comfortable in the hand.
It comes with hair clips & paddle brush, also a heat mat to put it on when its hot.
I love it.

A good quality straightener
I've had my silver bullet for around 3 years. I have super thick, coarse, wavy hair so I wasn't sure how it would work in my hair, but it's pretty good.
Heating- it heats up quickly and I like that there is a temperature dial so I can choose the temperature. Mine also came with a heat resistant mat, which is really useful because I could never figure out what I was supposed to do with the straightener while it was cooling down.
Straightening - if I'm to be honest, the silver bullet doesn't work quite as well as my old ghd. But it was arou...Read more
n $120 cheaper and I don't straighten every day, so I was happy to compromise a little. If I take the time to straighten properly (tiny thin sections at a time) then is has virtually the same results, but if I rush and do thicker sections, it's not as effective. For anyone with regular, manageable hair, this is a great product. For unruly hair like mine, it really depends how perfect you want it to look. If you're willing to painstakingly straighten, the silver bullet will still give you good results, but if you rush it, it might not work so wellSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Its a good straightner, but to be honest i was hoping for a better result. My hair isnt that thick, but I still take a while to get through it. But it does the job.

Great for my thick wavy hair
very happy with this hair straighter, it heats up very quickly, 3 different temps, does not snag hair, makes hair soft and silky. I used to have a GHD but found this just as good if not better

Love this straightener!
I did a lot of research on straighteners before purchasing the Silver Bullet. I wanted a rounded straightener that could curl as well as straighten.
It heats up fast and has button controlled heat settings.
Comes with a heat mat, professional hair clips, flat brush and comb.
I was hesitant to pay Cloud 9 and GHD prices and after extensive research realised I didn't have to!
It straightens really well and curls perfectly. The hair glides through the irons and doesn't get caught when curling. I spend a lot less time using the Silver Bullet than I did with my BaByliss.
Highly recommend for anyone looking at a more expensive product.

I wanted a GHD but got a Silver Bullet - I am more than happy
Back in March of this year I thought that I would treat myself with a new hair straightner, right or wrong I wanted a GHD one. I did the research required and sourced the cheapest price but when I went to purchase it I was talked into buying the Silver bullet at Itz All About Hair at Miranda. The service I received and the information about this product was excellent and I haven't looked back. It does an excellent job with straightening my hair and I feel that my hair is in better condition now ipusing it every second day than when I was using the GHD, I couldn't be happier.

OK
So My hair is very curly and boofy and it does an ok job of straightening. There are better straighteners out there for similar prices. If you have more thinner hair or less curly then this straightener should be good for you. Overall not bad but not the best

Amazing job!
Bought this straighter a while ago. Still works amazingly! Easy to use and doesn't pull your hair at all. Heats up quickly and does the job. You can curl, straighten or crimp your hair perfectly! Love it!

Great Hair Straighter Never let me Down
I've had my straightener now for about 2 years and It has never let me down. It heats up quickly and never snags. If my hair is windblown or I have messy bed hair, I put it on the highest temperature and it smooths and straightens. If I just need a touch up during the day, the lower settings work wonders as well.

Great Straightener- better than new GHD
I bought this straightener in December and am really happy with how it leaves my hair. The variable heat settings and flat plate really work well. It doesn't snag my hair at all.
It really leaves you with a straight look

Good for the price
It works well to do curls, but the curls don't last all day like when I use a curling wand. It doesn't snag my hair so that's good. Heats up fairly quickly, but not as quickly as GHDs.

Worked for 7 years then died
I've had this straightener for 7 years. Was very pleased with it, like the variable heat control and heats up fast, glides fairly smoothly. The other week it decided to stop working, won't heat up, red light flashes.
Very upset as I paid $230 for it and can't afford to buy another straightener. Not sure why this happens, I don't use it a lot at all and is stored well. It seems like it's not just mine that randomly decided to stop working...
I still have the receipt believe it or not but obviously it's not under warranty anymore. Has anyone tried to fix their's and if so, where and how much did it cost?

Worked well until it didnt, warranty replacement was quick & painless.
Purchased in September 2015 this had been pottering along nicely doing what it was supposed to until February 2017 when it started to fail to heat up properly and after a couple of weeks of it struggling to get to temperature I decided to request a warranty replacement. As it was purchased online I dealt directly with the importer in Sydney. While anyone can have a good experience from a product that just works, sometimes things fail and how a company deals with that process is really important - in this case they were very helpful & it was quick & painless. As for how it worked, it was quick to heat up & did a great job on my hair which although fine, is very curly. Looking forward to many more fabulous hair days with the replacement.

I love my silver bullet, Ive gone through so many hair straighteners and this is by far the best, I have very long blonde hair (bleached) usually my hair would burn even with heat products but the silver bullet styles my hair perfectly leaving it soft silky and with no breakage
Thick, thin or coloured hair the this is the straightener for you!

Is this better than the Muk 230-IR Straightner?
I am looking for a new straightener after I stepped on my Original Wide Plate GHD that I have had for 13 years and which never skipped a beat. Very devastated.
I am tossing between the Silver Bullet Keratin 230 and the Muk 230-IR Straightener.
I have very thick, frizzy, long, black Polynesian hair
Has anyone used both of these products?

I have a ghd platinum that I am fairly happy with, I have long, very thick quite coarse hair and like to straighten and curl my hair, I have recently read some rave reviews about the silver bullet keratin 230 and just wondered if someone with similar hair to me has had a good experience with this straightener?

Hello Danica. I would be VERY wary of buying a Silver bullet hair straightener. Look at the reviews...they are either love it, or hate it. They are very very inconsistent and this is exactly what this product is!! I have just bought TWO of them (one for me and one for my daughter) from Sydney hair salon and they both worked fine for 8 weeks then started faulting. As in: they do not work at all - light turns on but it remains completely cold, they spasmodically heat up to half the heat required sometimes, for the first 2 months they sometimes work perfectly, they are completely unreliable.
Just beware thats all! looks like it could be pot luck with these straighteners....some a good....some are crap.
Thank you so much for your help, I think I will stick to my ghd. All the retailers selling them only say it's great so it is really good to receive an honest opinion. Thank you again for your help!
