Good Quality Tumble Dryer
The Simpson EZILoader SDV501 Tumble Dryer is much better than the previous models of Simpson Tumble Dryers.
In particular it is less noisy than previous models.
The manufacturers claim that the new models will dry a 6kg load in the time that 4.5kg dry on other older models, In my experience this claim seems to be accurate.
These design changes also include relocating the Tumble Dryer Heating Element so it is located away from the drum for improved safety.
This model now has a better drying action which involves the drum reversing and the rotating in anti-clockwise and then clockwise every minute, This is claimed to help reduce tangling and results in more even drying of items.

Good Family Dryer
This does us very well indeed.
It is a simple 5KG dryer. Nice and simple not too complicated.
I literally have no complaints of any kind, It does exactly what I expect - spins and dries clothes and gives no trouble.
You can tell it's not as sturdy as they used to be back in the day but it works as well as always.
A good choice

Nice an Simple - Does The Job Reliably
We have had this workhorse for about two years - never misses a beat.
I like to keep things simple (less things to go wrong) and this dryer does just that. It has a rotary timer, not computer electronics and it works a treat. You do need to remember to empty out the "pancake" of lint from the door filter from time to rime n but apart from that its keeps on keeping on/
Simple and reliable, like the old days!
I would suggest getting the 5KG version, even for a single person, as that size is best for doonas and bedding.
A good basic dryer.

Works adequately
Bought it 4 months ago and I think that it is functional and quite worth the buy. It has not broken down on me so far and for a normal load usually it takes about 1hr 15 minutes to dry. Easy to operate and understand, easy to take out the filter to clean the dust.

Great dryer
This dryer is great I use mine every day and I have 3 kids so you can imagine how much washing I have. It dries equally, so easy to operate, very easy to clean & decent size inside so I’m not struggling to fit in a full wash. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Perfect little dryer.
Purchased from Harvey Norman after my old one (like 20 year old Simpson dryer) died.
Just wanted a no frills dryer that does the business of drying.
4kg model, big enough to take king size sheets and some towels at the same time.
Two settings, cool and hot. Dries quickly, and isn't noisy. Easy to remove lint filter.
Great purchase.

Great basic dryer
Purchased this 4kg,dryer to replace a Fisher and Paykel we had for 14 years. The dryer is great. Nothing fancy but dies the job well and clothes are dried really fast, even on the cool drying cycle. Having the small vent to the side of the dryer door is great and it can be angled whichever way you prefer. Dryer is gentle on clothes and does everything I need it to do.

Well designed and excellent dryer
The best thing about this dryer is that it does not have an exhaust louvre on the door. Instead, the exhaust louvre is at the corner of the unit (or you can block the front and have it exhaust from the rear of the unit). The door has a clear hard plastic window so you can watch your clothes being dried! It has a quiet and smooth operation when drying, with plenty of capacity (4kg of clothes when dry). The mounting of the unit is simple enough as there is a template provided so you will get the drill holes in the exact spot for the brackets.

Good and effective cheap dryer
Honestly I was quite surprised at how effective this cheap dryer is at drying clothe. Although you do not have any functionality to speak of, the dryer does an amazing job at drying your laundry. So much so I would recommend it above the typical Miele dryer which often results in half dried laundry

Excellent value for a simple dryer that just works
Got the Simpsons SDV401 to replace an old Simpsons dryer that has lasted me about 12 years. The price of this dryer is second to none and it is so easy and simple to operate. The only downside is being 4kg, you won't be able to dry lots in there but for the occasional use it is fantastic value!

Simple and dries well
If you're after a reliable dryer and don't need all the bells and whistles, definitely give this machine a go. It does its job well and is super easy to use. Literally only took a few minutes to set up. I've read reviews of people who have had this same model for over 10 years so am confident this unit will last me a while.
Just be careful not to turn the timer dial anti-clockwise (as with most dryers).
Fantastic value for money. Highly recommended.

Great Dryer
Great machine. Very easy to use and quiet. A batch of wet clothes usually take about 30-45 minutes to completely dry, depending on fabric of course. It's very light to carry and doesn't take much space in the laundry. vent circle direction can be changed to angle the heat. Very reliable, easy to clean lint filter. Would recommend great value for money.

Good value dryer
This is my second Simpson dryer from this range - the first lasted about 8 years of heavy use.
The dryer is inexpensive, sturdy and easy to use - I also prefer the simpler controls, as less likely to break down.
Overall, very happy with the purchase - although energy consumption is high.

Cheap and solid machine, so far so good
I guess a dryer doesn't need to be too fancy, simpson does the job and well priced, had the same brand for different places over the years and so far does not have any faulty one yet, hope this is the case for the latest one we bought, energy saving is not so good though.

SIMPSON EZI LOADER 5kg. WHAT A GREAT MACHINE!!!!
We had a lightning strike and we lost many electrical items with the surge. One of my friends went west, my much loved uncomplicated Fisher and Paykel no nonsense clothes dryer. Had to replace it and went off to buy another one the same. But the manufacturer decided we should all go electronic and added many features plus a very big price tag, none of which I wanted. So I looked for another brand which wasn't electronic and found the Simpson. I upgraded to a 5 kilo from the 4 I'd always had. The Simpson is definitely a much better built dryer....Read more
Lots of improvements over the Fisher and Paykel. Just for starters the lint catcher is bigger and stronger made and it catches everything. No lint ever on anything I've dried. Being bigger there's more room for air inside which dries my clothes faster and when I need to dry a large item like a blanket it will dry it completely. The machine is quiet and has a trusty dial at the front and it takes no time to figure out how long a load will take to dry when the washing is repetitive. i.e. sheets, towels etc. Being bigger too, things come out with fewer creases, There's only two of us here so the loads are never huge. I really love this product. It was funny, when an electrician came to look at my damaged items and I showed him my old dryer, he turned to me and said, gee I hope you bought a Simpson and I laughed with surprise and said yes, I did. He said it's the best made dryer on the market and much better to have a dial than the electronics because there is so much which can go wrong with them, but the dial is easy and durable. So I'm happy. I bought the dryer from Harvey Norman. They really look after me price-wise and they're always willing to beat a better price if you can find one. So if you're looking for a dryer with muscles and not a massive price tag, have a look at the Simpson. You can even get bigger ones in the same range. Happy drying, Dianne.Similar opinion? It's a good dryer !
I really like my dryer, I like the air sense drying concept it saves energy. I also.like the energy rating on them. The only thing g I don't like is the way the filter is. I do t like the way doesn't seem to gather all the lint and it accumulates around the inside rim of the barrel.

clothes dryer
Simple to use. easy to clean out filter and reasonably priced. Compact and can be mounted above laundry machine Besides, an Aussie brand which I am happy to support to keep our economy going! What's more, if any repair i presume parts must be cheaper too. So what more does one want?!

Great simple manual dryer
Have been living without a dryer for about 8 months trough a winter and decided it was time to replace an old hoover that finally stopped working after 20+ years. I wanted something similar without all the programs and settings just one with a manual dial to start the drying process. Initially i was a little hesitant of this Simpson model as the door seemed to be a little flimsy compared to the Fisher & Paykel model but it has not been a problem. So if your in the market for a basic dryer absent of all the electronics that quickly stop working, i suggest this model it does what it is supposed to do just dry clothes with an option for delicate items with less heat. Bought this online and on sale with the old dryer taken away.

Fantastic No Gimmick Dryer
Very happy with this dryer. My last Simpson dryer lasted 25 years. I love the basic and EASY dial function. Love the filter at the front and the quick drying. No need to refer back to the manual everytime you need to put something in the dryer..I'm so glad I read the reviews before I purchased this dryer.I almost went for the latest heat pump or condenser dryer...I'm so glad I didn't purchase those ones that take forever to dry the clothes. Thankyou Simpson for this easy to use dryer.
