Does its job
Im not a fan of drying clothes with an electric dryer, its an expensive way to do it.
So I use them when absolutely needed and try to hang clothes out first to take out as much moisture from them.
The machine does its job and considering it has only been used infrequently, I guess mine does not suffer as much stress each year.
Had it since 2015, no problems developed but it had one issue. I inverted the unit to hang it up on a wall and this put the door out of sync a bit. Gravity made the hinges lower the door a bit so it needed to to...Read more
be lifted up to merge with the door lock mechanism. This is a fault with the door bushing in my opinion, In the oriignal mounting or floor standing not an issue, only when turned upside down. It has not made an issue with operation but seems to me they could have designed or tested it out better. This is an appliance that gets used as least as possible, so from my opinion while I rate it well for what it does, it does not suffer the loading of other appliances In fairness to the review and using it, the machine has worked ok for the time it has been used.Similar opinion? Excellent product
WE have had our Simpson clothes dryer for a couple of years. It is ideal for what we need. We had our daughter and her family staying with us and it was able to dry all the clothes and towels for 5 people. It is very economical too as it takes a shorter time than our old one. Love it. 10/10

Easy to operate, good value, dries clothes
Had thie dryer for about 8 years. Cost about $300.
Actually dried things -full load of clothes within 1hr, towels/sheets 90min, baby clothes 45min. Used for multiple loads per week for its whole life.
Finally died this week. Bought one exactly the same.
Have used sensor dryers while on holidays and waited 6h plud for things to dry.

Very effective dryer
My dad got us this and its brilliant. Perhaps the best thing about it is that its reverses as it tumbles - it means that towels do not end up wrapped in a hot ball after two hours! Its actually pretty quick as far as dryers go. It's a little smaller size so this may have something to do with it (less space to heat) controls are very simple and Simpsons are a reliable brand so i am very happy!

Best dryer I have ever owned
Dries the cloths in a shorter time than any other drier I have used. Doesn’t seem to cause as much condensation as others and I like the dial control. Simple to use and effective. I use it to dry a lot of large towels daily and it never skips a beat. Strongly recommend

Big Dryer at a great price
The Dryer is the large size model. When buying a dryer you need to forget all the fancy electronics and go basic otherwise you will be forever replacing circuit boards. This dryer has all you really need, it drys your clothes with no fuss or fanciness. The dryer is quiet and has a reverse spin function to stop creases and tangles. the dryer has basic controls and is easy to use.

Great 'classic; dryer - works well
This is our second Simpson dyer. I bought the last one in the late 90s and it has worked continuously until now. The only trouble we ever experienced was the belt slipping off after it was in storage. Great reliability! We have just bought pretty much the exact same one but in 6kg size . They are robust and simple. If this does 20 years of work too, I will be well and truly happy

Excellent Value
This Simpson dryer was great value for money. It's quieter than my old dryer and it dries a lot faster than my old dryer. It is very easy to use and you just set how long you want it to run for so you can partially dry your towels then air dry them to finish off.

A sad choice
The dryer does not dry the clothes and I would have to run it again. As compared to my previous make & model, this is utterly disappointing.
The lint and hot air from the clothes comes out from the front instead of providing a hose to remove the hot air from the rear of the machine. No hose was provided for the exhaust from the front.

Simple, fast and quiet
We are very happy with the Simpson SDV401 dryer. We wanted something that was very easy to use, and something was quiet as well. Compared to our last dryer - this one is so quiet!
The dryer has two temperature settings - warm and hot. That's it. Just turn it on and it drys quickly. The dryer also reverse spins so that clothes and sheets don't get tangled into a ball.
Quite frankly, I wished we had got rid of our last dryer a long time ago. This dryer is a dream!

Very good dryer
Simpson dyer is great
Leaves the clothes looking good & not crinkly
Even if u leave the clothes to the next day, clothes still look good - surprisingly
We’ve had others & not been to happy
The lint produced needs to be replaced every dry but still is great & requires no effort

Great simple dryer
I just wanted a basic dryer to dry clothes during winter and in case of emergencies. I looked at several options from expensive to cheap and this dryer seemed to do the trick since I'm not planning on using it very often. The 5kg drum is a great size and it's super simple to use. Been great!

Excellent Simspon Reliability
This is out third Simspson clothes dryer over many years. We always but=y them beacause they are so simple and reliable. I have had the back off before and there is nothing to them. A drum, a belt and a heating element plus a timer. Simple is best with things like this and I expect to get a long service life from it

Reliable and good value
We don’t use our dryer often, only through winter, so we didn’t want to spend a lot of money. But our Simpson 401 is perfect for my husband and I. It has been reliable and even though quite basic we didn’t need all the fancy bits and pieces with the extra price. I researched dryers before we bought this one and it had good reviews and it has been a good buy.

Perfect
This dryer is amazing I can’t fault it! The dial is perfect and hasn’t been playing up like I have heard others have! They make the clothes very hot and it’s so great but not for towels as they unravel in the dryer but overall it’s a great dryer !

Really excellent dryer
This dryer dries quickly and is easy to use. It’s really easy to clean the lint tray out as it’s near the front of the machine. It has a super long cycle which is useful as I can put it on, go to bed and know whatever I’m drying is guaranteed to be dry in the morning. I definitely recommend this drier.

Working well for 2 years now
I use this a lot and now don't know how I lived without it! I use the low heat for clothes and high heat for sheets and towels. It is a fairly cheap and small product, I learnt from reviews not to overload it and we have been rewarded with years of reliable service. Here's hoping we get many more!

Reliable Simpsons Dryer
I had no doubts about which brand of dryer to buy after our last Simpson put in nearly 20 years work.
They are solid, reliable and simple dryers that just work. Controls are simple, just high and low heat and the timer.
Mounting on the wall is easy too with the wall mount bracket.
I trust this brand and hope to get another 20 years,

Reliable Dryer
Simpson make good simple products that last well. We had a Simpson washer my whole childhood - the same one the whole time. They may not have all the fancy electronic controls but I see that as more complexity to go wrong. This dryer is the same, a simple design that works very well. It always starts and I never have to think about it other than occasionally remember to clean the lint out. It can take a whole load strength from the washer and doesn't make much noise either. Its a great simple dryer

love it!!!
I love this dryer..we use it everyday as we have limited clothes drying space in our apartment. It's so easy to use and makes laundry a breeze. I actually don't mind doing it. The half heat setting is really helpful also with your delicate fabrics. I highly recommend this product.
