Skinny tan - 7 day

published

I've used many tans in my time and splashes out on the Skinny Tan as the revues seemed good. The result has been a streaky mess. I'm not a novice to applying tan and I followed all the instructions. The colour is good; but it's impossible to apply evenly.

Streaky, blotchy and orange

published

I followed the directions exactly, showered and exfoliated my skin, dry and applied. It came out of the bottle a blackish/brown foam as I rubbed it on my skin it had little brownish/Black particles that made my skin look really dirty (it looked like you mixed a drink and didn't get all the product disovled). I let this product dry and left this product on all night, ruined my clothes and sheets. As soon as I got out of the shower I was left streaky, blotchy from those little particles, and orange.. yes orange!! Lol.Say hello to the orange lady who gets her drivers license renewed friday. Not thrilled about this product.

Do not believe all the hype on this product

published

I have used self tanners for many years, Bondi sands, xen tan to mention a few (both excellent tanners btw) . I am not the sort of person who would normally write a review, however I do not want any other potential tanners to waste their money on such a poor product.I followed all the pre-tanning instructions, application very messy, bright orange cream which smells like play dough. After showering I was orange and patchy!!! complete waste of money. Will be going back to what I know!!

Very streaky, a waste of time

published

Was excited to try this product because of all the hype and ads coming through my FB page. Throughout the application I had to continually wipe of clumpy residue. Decided to switch back to Bondi Sands which is brilliant. Stay with what you know works I guess!

The roller is pretty poor

published

Used skinny ran recently, it's not a bad colour, but the roller I purchased ( there brand name) is not good! It's very expensive at £12 and it works for a few seconds before the sponge bit falls off, really bad design. Would expect alot better for the money!

Not great- better self tans on the high street

published

I thought I would give a new tan a try as I usually pay around the same amount (£24) for fake bake flawless - which I highly recommend!!! As for skinny tan, it smells unpleasant, leaves you feeling wet and sticky and it does not dry fast! Tan is okay when you shower the morning after but fades really quickly, as for the anti cellulite factor; it doesn't exist. Not worth the money.

Don't waste your money

published

Wish I hadn't fallen for all the hype around this product. I carefully followed the instructions on exfoliating and applying and applied it several hours before bed so it had plenty of time to dry. It still marked the sheets and overnight the smell which initially seemed ok when it first went on became more and more unpleasant and my skin became more and more itchy! I showered off in the morning as instructed and was left with a streaky tan as a lot of it seemed to just wash off. By far the worst tanning product I have ever used! Don't waste your money! Would give it zero stars if that was an option!

Complete marketing stunt

published

I have used ample self tanning products and by far this is the worst. I followed instructions and left it on for 5 hours. Then after having a shower it simply washed off. $30 down the drain....shame on you Skinny Tan!!!

horrible product - great marketing

published

I bought the product in United Kingdom without checking AUs reviews.
the quality is very bad !
It left my skin a streaky, blotchy, orange colour with little white patches especially legs and very dark patches in others.
the customer services does not exist
it took them more then a month to respond on email sent through their website. the whole experience was awful, wasted my money and time.

No tan at all!

published

I bought the 7 day tanner snd left it on over 15 hours. Washed with water only and I have ZERO tan color. That's why it doesn't streak...because it doesn't change your skin color! After I wrote a review on their Facebook page, they blocked me and erased my posts. Big scam and huge waste of money!

7 day tanner issue. Fantastic customer service

published

I got the 7 day tanner and yes it goes on streaky but as advertised it did wash the color guide off and left my skin have a nice and even talk no streaks. However, the next day I showed and it all washed off completely. I contact them and they sent be 2 bottles of the mousse and also an entirely new mit. No cost to me either. I just got it today and put it on tonight. It dries really well and didn't leave me sticky however it did just make my face look patchy and dirty so I cleaned my face off. Other than that no word yet.

Worst tan ever!

published

I have used alot of slef tanners in the past and this is the worst one ive ever used. It doesn't tan at all! The cream is thick and splotchy, applies uneven. I like a dark tan like bondi sands ultra dark so this product was no where near as dark as that. It cost more then others I've used aswell which is disappointing. Would not recommend at all.

Smells wonderful

published

I am a older woman who loves to have a tan. My husband has been too ill to travel since Christmas so no holidays abroad for the sun. I hate the smell of most self tanners but this one smells of coconut which I love. I bought the tanning mitt and love this product, no streaks and a lovely natural colour. I would recommend this product I love it.

Uber Nasty Smell

published

I bought this after reading the marketing blurb that states there was no nasty smell... rubbish in fact it's WORSE than my usual brand. I also had an issue when using the express mousse when you shake the bottle you lose approx 20mls of product in the cap, that's a lot of waste in a 150 ml bottle.

Thick stodgy treacle like yuckie smelling product

published

I bought skinny tan 7 day tanner- wished i didnt waste my time and money now!!
This foul smelling treacle like sticky creem is far from smelling like coconut, infact its really bad.

It left my skin a streaky, blotchy, orange colour with little white patches and extra dark patches in others.

I did all the prep- exfoliate and moisturise to create a barrier but still i look like ive been crossed with an ompa- lumpa.

Needles to say im going back to my old fake tan sprays from now on!

Don't waste your money

published

This tan is average at best. It smells like plasticine and coconut, some people might like that, i personally found it made me feel ill. It's slimy when you put it on and rubs off easily. I put it on before going to bed, stained my sheets and my bfs arm! So you need to wait a long time for it to dry. I have used it twice hoping the first time was just bad luck. But both times it went on either patchy or streaky, despite me exfoliating etc. It also made my skin come out in an itchy rash. For £23 i expect much better. It's over hyped and over priced. Don't recommend.

Doesn't work. Waste.

published

I used the 7 day tanner. I exfoliated, moisturized my knees, elbows etc. (not new to self tanning). I haven't found a product yet that doesn't make me smell like a wet dog or not leave me orange. The smell actually isn't bad but once you shower the color guide washes off and IF it leaves color it is orange. I used it two days in a row hoping to get some color and nothing but a very faint orange. Don't waste your money. I got sucked in to the hype a now I have 3 bottles left that I will just throw away.

Only buy if you want to look like a satsuma

This hasn't to be the worst fake tan that I have ever tried. I'm just grateful I didn't pay full price for it. I only bought it as it was on offer and I thought "why not". back to the fake bake for me I'm afraid........ I will never buy this again!

Don't believe the hype.

published

Apparently it smells like coconut breeze...it doesn't - like most ( cheaper) fake tans it smells like a cross between wet dog and rich tea biscuits .... the tan is streaky and very unnatural looking ( dark) and i am at a loss as to what ' skin smoothing' properties mean ( my skin was dry and patchy the next day) ... i have had better results from cheapest end of the market - complete waste of money

Worst fake tan I have ever used.

published

Applied to the letter of the instructions, left it on all that day and over night, the next morning I showered and all the colour washed away. Not a trace was left. This product is not a good one, do not buy it. Stick to the cheap ones that actually do work.
