Much improved and loving it
This is my second octavia. Skoda has fixed the DSG without the 0.3 second delay to get off the mark. It is so smooth, working extremely well with the 110kw 1.4T engine. Fuel consumption around 6.8lt per 100km around town with climate control operating.
Android Auto make life so easy. Up to date Google map, voice control texting. Google read out your messages.
Turning cycle is unbelievable good for car of this size.
Emergency breaking have safe many lives in city driving.
Strongly recommend
Purchased in April 2021 for $30,999.00.

Good Car
Bought this car as a demo with about 400km on the clock and use it as every day transport.
1.4 TSI with 7 spd DSG. Tech Pack and Luxury Pack were fitted.
We've now done 28k and had the first service done at 15k. Checked oil today with 2k to service. Still on full level.
Difficult to find fault. Comfortable, quick enough when needed, Bells and whistles work well and it's surprising how quickly they become integrated into your every day driving.
Very economical. Have been down to 4.9 on a few trips and anything over 5.5 is a disappointment....Read more
Late 6's to early 7's around town - maybe low 8's if Sport mode is selected and driven accordingly. Most kms have been done in a largish regional centre plus what passes as "highway" driving. Very few in freeway conditions. Use 95 RON with occasional tank of 98. Looked at a Golf (among others) when we bought and decided on the Skoda because of the additional space. (We bought a 280 litre upright freezer, backed up to load and was told "no way". Yes way - we took it home.) Also some of the features available on the Skoda at the time weren't on the shopping list for the Golf. Lacks independent rear that our last few cars have had but it handles well so it really hasn't been missed. Pros - the car as a package - the LED AFS head lights are a stand out in a very well equipped vehicle. Cons -
Purchased in July 2021.

The best family sports wagon on the market
Hands down the best family sports wagon on the market today, a great blend of performance and practicality. Their is so much space in the back the kids love it, more tech than you can pick a stick at, highly recommend test driving one. Was my pick over the golf R and Levorg and I don’t regret it.

Very Impressed Each Time I Drive It
We bought a 2018 Skoda Octavia wagon and received delivery in December 2017. We chose the wagon with luxury pack and electric tail gate. The car is mostly VW underpinnings and it shows in the build quality as well as inheriting some of the more premium features from its more expensive VW & Audi cousins. The TSI engine is powerful and a enjoyable to drive, the DSG gearbox take a little bit of getting used to at low speeds but great once moving. The adaptive cruise and lane assist is game changing in terms of freeway driving. Long drives are...Read more
far more relaxing and less taxing on the driver. The boot space is exceptional, in comparison to a Nissan X-Trail (our other car) it is MUCH more practical. Fuel consumption is very low, getting real world figures of 7L/s in city driving, often short distances as well. The car does need premium 95 fuel, although the higher price is offset by the lower fuel consumption in comparison with a similar car. All in all a great car at an amazing price (nothing comes close in terms of equipment and price). It would appear Skoda are trying to get into the Australian market by providing well equipped cars for low prices.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best sports wagon under 50k
Awesome car the Skoda RS and ultra practical in wagon form.... was a GTI owner until my kids started to complain about rear legroom so i sold up and bought the latest RS245 wagon. Feels exactly like a bigger version of the Golf GTI although not as nimble. If Skoda were to offer the awd like in the Golf R wagon it would wipe the floor with the Subaru Levorg. 5 year / unlimited warranty whats not to like.... keep up the good work Skoda.

Very poor warranty support
FINAL UPDATE 06/02/2018: The car repair was finally completed on Thursday 01/02/2018. We were looked after by a new service manager named [name removed] at the Cairns warranty dealership, who was a consummate professional, keeping us up to date at all times. He arranged a loan vehicle for the duration of the repair and we are very happy with his management of the repair. However, it is still worth pointing out that it took about a month due to Skoda carrying insufficient parts inventory in Australia. This is worth bearing in mind should yo...Read more
u choose to purchase a Skoda brand vehicle. It's also worth bearing in mind that none of this happened until I placed a link to this review on the Skoda Australia Facebook page. So thank you Product Review and thank you FaceBook! UPDATE 8/1/2018: Once again the car has lost all it's air con gas. The service agent has identified the problem as a faulty TX valve and leaking condenser. The good news is that it is covered by warranty. The bad news is that it will take 3 WEEKS for the parts to get here from overseas. Anyone, who has experienced a Cairns summer will understand that this essentially puts the car off the road until it is repaired. We will not be receiving a loan car. This level of service is so substandard. We currently have 12 of these vehicles in our fleet and will be changing back to Toyota as soon as it is economically viable. So much for that experiment. This review represents the final opportunity for Skoda to delight me with their customer service before I kick this brand to the kerb forever. ORIGINAL POST: We bought a Skoda Octavia in December 2016. Guess what? The air con gas leaked and this wasn't covered by warranty! Apparently the service agent in Cairns couldn't find the leak, therefore it wasn't a warranty repair as there was no category for them to select in the warranty system and "Someone has to pay". I am left wondering what the warranty might actually cover? I'm also wondering if someone from customer relations at Skoda might take the time to contact me and discuss?Similar opinion? Extremely good value for money
I bought the MY18 Octavia Sport wagon petrol and I would definitely buy another, running costs are very low compared to other cars I was looking at. I'm averaging 6.0L/100km. I was worried about the small 50L fuel tank I thought I'd be filling up more often and more than once a week. I'm getting 750-800km to a tank. So I can often go 2 weeks without refueling. Despite requiring more expensive 95unleaded, my fuel bill is around $25-$40 per week and I drive anywhere between 350km-500km per week. So my weekly running costs are much lower than my p...Read more
revious 4cyl Honda Accord. Octavia is a 1.4L turbo engine, I was worried it would be like a ride on lawn mower (slow as hell) but has more than enough power, I work in the hills so I drive up a long windy Hill every morning easily. It comes standard with 8 inch infotainment system, it's the best system I've ever seen in a car, high definition, no matter how much glare from the sun is on it u can see it clearly. Also reverse camera is HD. It has Android auto and apple car play standard even in cheapest model, which seriously makes all the difference, I speak to the car to navigate on Google maps, no more typing in addresses ever again, I even use my voice to tell google to play any song in the world that I want and it will play it. Voice control works flawlessly in android auto, even making phone calls or sending text msgs while driving is a piece of cake. However if u want to rely on skodas voice recognition u will find it useless along with most other cars. With Android auto I will never ever ever need to use a cd Player again or a USB with music on it. Just use Spotify or google play music. When I was looking at cars, I decided if it didn't have Android auto and apple car play I would take it off the list and I'm glad I stuck to that. I bought the wagon as I wanted to put my German Shepherd in the boot as I hated him damaging the back seats of my old car. I was worried the boot would be too small but he fits easily, I think he prefers the boot to the back seat anyway, as he used to hate going in the car now he loves it.Purchased in October 2021 for $34,850.00.

Ticks just about every box.
Bought my 110TSI wagon new in April 2016 and overall it has been a very well equipped, reliable and economical car that I really enjoy driving, but I have found 3 things to be aware of before you buy.1
1) The base model doesn't have independent rear suspension and it can get pretty bouncy back there. (Both my kids have complained of travel sickness)
2) The tow ball is rated at 75KG, which eliminates being able to tow just anything other than a small trailer of boat.
3) The front wheel drive really struggles for grip when going uphill on an ...Read more

Very Good value and zero reliability problems
This is our 2nd Octavia. We now have a 2.0 litre, diesel wagon, 6 speed dsg automatic with the safety extra's "tech pack", which is definately worth getting - radar distance control and other features. The transmission is quick changing and smooth even under harder acceleration. Very punchy motor for a diesel. The amount of overall kit you get for the price of the car is is very good. Very good night driving lights. My wife drives the car to Northam from Perth 5 days per week, very hilly for 25 % of the trip ( about 180 kms round journey). Ha...Read more
d racked up over 190,000km since buying the wgn new mid 2014. Has been economical, 6 - 7 ltres/100 kms and totally reliable We've had a few VW golfs and Passats in the past, which were also vg, but they are not as good value for money as the 2 Skodas we've had. Good quality materials used inside the car . The brakes on the car are excellent. I have a reasonably high performance car, the brakes on it do not feel as strong as the Skoda's. No problem with legroom at all, i'm 6 feet, heaps of headroom and the seats are comfortable. I wouldn't get leather seats again as they're cold first thing in the morning in winter. I personally dont like how the motor turns off when you stop at traffic lights (built in to save fuel), but you can press a button that overrides it for the whole journey. The "Canton" make entertainment system has excellent sound quality. Gps is also very easy to use.The back seats fold almost flat and has plenty of room. We take our 60 kg bull mastiff and our pugs all to the dog beach with no problems. Has a reversible back mat. Is hard, plastic ribbed one side and carpet the other side. When the dogs come back to the car from the beach its easy to hose the sand off the plastic side of the mat when you get home. You can hear the diesel motor but its not overly loud . Nice car to steer/drive, better than my late model Subaru, which surprised me, because the Subaru is all wheel drive and Skoda is front wheel drive. The servicing costs are normal, nothing over the top if you take them to a good local mechanic and not the official dealer. Last service, oil change and normal checks made was just over 200 bucks. The dsg transmission is one thing the local mechanic might not be able to do a service on. I cant recall why not. I think it may have had something to do with specialized tools needed. The transmission service is not something that happens very much in the log book service schedule. Because the car is basically a rebadged Volkswagen, I found a mechanic who works mostly on VW's. The transmission service was about 300 dollars which isnt too bad. Car continues to surprise us with features we didnt know it had. My wife was about 5 kms from home recently and feeling quite tired, having just driven about 100 kms. She said a warning message for " driver rest break" came up and an alarm sounded from the dash display. It startled her momentarily. Long story short, vehicle monitors your overall steering responses and if it detects a change a warning is given. The car has a lot of very useful features which have not been inclusive in previous makes of cars we have owned.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great vehicle
I've had it for about 4 months, bought from new, I went with a manual as I'd heard some bad reviews about the autos, it's been really nice to drive, and super good on fuel, I've been averaging around 5.5L/100km per tank of fuel, and it's quite hilly where we live; on a flat stretch of road, doing 80km/hr, the fuel economy goes down to more like 3.5L/100km or less.
It has plenty of power, once you get over 1500rpm that is, it's taken a little getting used to, especially when you want to get moving in a hurry, like at an intersection, you put yo...Read more

Very disappointed and frustrated
Issues with engine routinely cutting out in low gear. I can be gong around a roundabout and it will cut out and travelling from 2nd gear going to 3rd. The car will take about 10 secs, sometimes more to engage. At this stage I have no power whatsoever, even if I pump the accelerator. Have been to the dealer and have come up with a brick wall. The power outage has not only occurred to me, but also to my husband and son when they have driven. Seriously unhappy.

Great car!
I bought the base model station wagon with the sports pack option 3 months ago. So far I could not be happier with the car. The engine is flexible, has all the get up and go I need as is perfectly matched to the 6 speed manual gearbox.
It's great around town an equally good as a long distance cruiser. Very comfortable and the included technology works flawlessly.
Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Near flawless.
Purchased brand new August 2015, and have put on approx 18,000km in that time.
It's been everything I hoped it would be - quick & agile but sure footed, spacious, comfortable, fuel efficient and reliable (almost). Had an issue with the EPC light coming on a couple times but that fixed itself. I'm guessing bad fuel batch.
From a full tank, I can easily eek out 700km if driving efficiently or 600km with a bit of spirited driving.
Seats 4 adults comfortably with plenty legroom. Lots of boot space.
It's been awesome. My first Skoda, and I'll admit I was a bit hesitant what with it being basically a VW product & their reputation being somewhat sullied, but I have no regrets whatsoever.

Nice to drive but niggling issues
Purchased new in early November and received in January, 2015 the car is great to drive however two days in sat nav was hopelessly lost, returned to dealer re set two days later same issue aerial changed. Months later coolant light came on thermostat replaced even though the dealer couldn't find an issue. Annoying vibration in drivers door. Several months later coolant light on again all this before first service.

Even better than I expected
The Series 3 Octavia Wagon is much improved on the Series 2 I bought 6 years ago. With the 'travel pack' it has all you could want, for $28,000, surely a secret bargain ? It's 1 .4 litre Super and turbo charged motor has 25 % more torque than my previous 2 litre naturally aspirated ! The vehicle is quieter, smoother and a delight to drive. Have read comments about road noise levels - not in my wagon, it has German Dunlop tyres fitted, maybe they make it so quiet ? All in all I am so very pleased with it.

2014 Octavia RS DSG great sporty wagon
Have had my 2014 Feb build vRs for about 2 months now and am loving it. . The build quality is very high indeed and the mantra of "simply Clever" is stamped all over the car. From the pen and notepad holder in the glover box, the clip on the window for that pay and display parking ticket thru to the take away/shopping bag holders in the boot, the car is full of surprises..
The DSG gearbox is very capable of handling most situations and am finding that with the Economy mode selected I am getting over 700kms to a tank (75% highway driving.....Read more
