If you book a flight via skyscanner - with skyscanner as agency you need to organise the refund with skyscanner directly and not the airline, correct? I was just on hold for over 1.5 hrs to customer service and still didnt get through! Would be great if they get extra people on the phones and communicate about refund and not just email with a cancellation!

Hi, due to Covid I’m unable to use my flight I had booked for April. The Western Australian govt has banned unessential travel till June 30. I booked through Skyscanner in January and have tried to get in touch with Tavel2be and travelgenio to change the flight. There is no email address or phone number that can help. I’m not after a refund just flight change. I hope someone can help me.. the airline Qantas will not assist as it was booked through a third party through Skyscanner.

My wife booked flights 5 months ago through skyscanner but doesn’t know what company was used to make booking. She has been trying to contact someone in regards to cancelling or postponing trip (which is today actually Kalgoorlie-Melbourne return) due to the Covid 19 and only essential travel allowed here as borders are closing etc. Who can she contact in view of this...
What happens if she does not go...Will she still receive a refund or credit seeing as she has been trying for 2 weeks to contact someone.
It is a Virgin Australia domestic flight.
.Would appreciate some kind of solution to this problem
Thank you in anticipation

Hi John, I hope you and your wife are doing well. To find out the company she booked with, we recommend looking at your internet browsing history, searching for the booking in her email (sometimes searching for the airline or airport codes reveals results), or checking the bank statement. This will usually reveal who the booking was made with. - Chantae

Darryl W.asked
I was looking at flights last night from Cairns to Sydney return and the price was $177. I went to book flights today and the same flights are $266. Is this another game of smoke and mirrors? I do not like games and will not be using your service if that's the case.

Friends who are more computer literate than I tell me this sort of thing is built into their systems. That is, there is memory of your previous search, on the same computer especially, and the next time you look at the same trip the price will invariably be dearer! I haver experienced this too!!!
Skyscanner A.Skyscanner
Hey Darryl, This is a good question. Your previous search history does not affect flight prices. However, airlines and online travel agents change flight prices frequently and without notice. This is likely why the price went higher -- sometimes, they decrease as well. If you have set dates in mind, we recommend setting up a price alert. This way, we can notify you whenever the price of a flight changes.

I made a purchase using Skyscanner and FLY365.com however FLY365.com has gone into liquidation. Where does it leave me and my family after paying $3200 for return flights to Bali with Virgin Australia.

Do you have insurance eg on credit card? Most complimentary card insurance covers agency insolvency. That’d be the first thing to check.
If not, I’d call the airline and all the hotel vendors to confirm if they received the funds you forwarded. If so you’d be okay. Get confirmations with them and proceed with them directly.
If they haven’t then unfortunately you’d be an unsecured creditor. If the entity that went under is in your country, you should find out who the liquidator is and contact them to register your claim to ensure you get some money back if they pay a dividend on final wind up. If the company that went under is not in your country, they should have a domestic marketing entity which you physically paid and who would be responsible for your tickets. You may be lucky and that entity remains solvent in which case you should be okay and the booking remains valid.
Lastly do this anyway - If you paid by credit card you can also go to your bank and tell them you haven’t received what you paid for and the loan on your card they debited was not valid because it wasn’t in exchange for consideration. You may be protected by a consumer credit code such as in the case in Australia.
Good luck - don’t lose hope
I would never fly with them again and would not recommend to anyone either. Please Write a complaint to Skyscanner. $3200 is a lot of money and even though FLY365.com whoever has gone into liquidation and if they fall under Skyscanner, Skyscanner should take responsibility and look after you. I hope and pray you do get a refund. Contact a staff member called Martina at Skyscanner, she may be able to help. My problem was not resolved but no harm in trying. It is better to deal directly with the airlines because we think we are saving money but often pay much more than what these agencies advertise for plus don’t get money refunded and all those uncalled for stress.

I have a booking with Singapore Airlines, sourced via Skyscanner. The flight is with SQ into SIN and onwards with SQ to Munich. However Skyscanner shows this booking as "Self Transfer". How can this be possible when all flights are with SQ. Some flights wait Qatar are also showing as Self Transfer.

Hi, I always compare price through skyscanner but never bought through this. I am not sure whether buy it or not after looking so many negative review. How things will work here? And If I face any problem what will be the solution?

I think Skyscanner must have a blanket policy that if you purchase one of their tickets it is non refundable. When the airline canceled the flight, skyscanner sent me an email with new fl;ight details but the new flight was at a much earlier time and i could not make it to the airport. They told me i should speak to the airline directly to try and arrange another flight time. I did that and the airline did not have any other alternatives so said they were happy to refund the ticket for the return flight. When i went back to skyscanner to request that refund money, they refused. So lesson is that it is probably safer to book directly with the airline as they are much more reasonable.
I have used Skyscanner before with no problems but it’s Travel2be linked to them with whom I have had problems with. I Have learnt a lesson to purchase directly from the airline because the amount of money these agencies charge and the stress they put you through is not worth it and it all adds up to same amount buying directly from airline or can cost even more. I still don’t know how much extra I am paying per kilo at the counter tomorrow as they did not give any option to buy a bag on line and was instructed to pay at the counter. I wish I had bought directly with quantas as I found their staff friendly and helpful. I must also let you know that a staff called Martina from Skyscanner tried very hard to help but it’s the travel2be that was not helpful. Please do not use travel2be..please use your instinct but I won’t be using them again..
Thanks Sana for your response. I was confused to see the price offer in skyscanner is very low. There should be some catch.
Again, thanks a lot for your advise.

What if i cancel the flight how much refund i will get
2 answers
Refunds are based on the individual policies of the agency with which you booked. Many will charge an administration fee regardless of the length of time before your flight. Some offer cancellation insurance. If your reason for cancelling is due to the passing of a loved one, then many companies will refund in full even if only short notice is given
Hope this helps
Hi, I believe it depends on your ticket and the reason for cancellation. From past experience I dont believe a flight once purchased is refundable.
I think Mike's answer is correct above. Good luck!!
