Just out of box and oven not working
I am currently having a new kitchen installed and the electrician and gas fitter arrived today to install. Electrician said there is a problem with the clock and electrics so the oven won't work. Contacted appliance centre that I purchased the Smeg free standing oven and matching rangehood from and they contacted Smeg. Will take 2 weeks to have someone come out to fix, having the floors sanded next week so would be at last 10 days to have a replacement oven so very poor service from Smeg to fix a brand new appliance. Appliance centre and tradesman and self astounded by delay of 2 weeks until service can be arranged. Still haven't heard from Smeg to confirm that they can come out in 2 weeks.

sh was great and had the oven working within 10 minutes, he even gave me a demonstration of how to use everything. So very happy with my new oven and also the response of Smeg. Thank you, I really appreciate your help Josh and coming out early on a Saturday morning.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Oven working and is brilliant!
Further to my previous review "Oven not working" and after an email to the National Sales Manager for Smeg we now have a working oven that does a brilliant job. After a rocky start (i.e. the oven didn't work) Steve came through with the goods and had the oven up and running the next morning after my email and even offered to pay for the 2nd electrician we used to install the oven. Thanks Steve, have turned a very poor customer experience into a good one with a very good product.

Oven doesn't work.
Wish I had read reviews earlier, as I have a brand new oven with no electrics. Gas working for cooktop but oven doesn't. Had to pay for an electrician to come out after first installer couldn't get electrics to work, and oven still not working. Have to wait another week for SMEG to send out subcontractor. Looks like my daughter won't be getting a home made cake for her birthday.

Same old problem
Had the Technician come to do the repair. He replaced the control board. Now the convection fan and elements are working and the top burner
But the Bake Convection selection will not heat up the oven in any sort of useful time.
After having the oven set to bake (lower Burner) and fan the temperature did not exceed 75C after 1/2 an hour??!!!
Surely it is not supposed to operate this way.
And the information was advised in a written note about the bottom element not working properly to the technician
Am I doing something incorrect?????

Beautiful product, faultless customer service
We recently purchased a Smeg oven from the good guys, and an error in the installation by the electrician led to a few minor hiccups with the product.
Contacted Steve Cullen, the sales manager at Smeg, and he and his team organised a technician to come the next business day!
The technician was on time, efficient and fixed the issue with no problems.
Oven is now working great and we are very happy customers!

Very dissapointed with product and customer service
I don't like writing reviews however I really felt as if I had to for my smeg oven. We bought a smeg oven which was supposedly "the best" of the ovens however I have never had so many problems with a new appliance in all my life.
When we had it installed by the electrician and plumber we were told this beautiful "new" oven was a faulty item. A brand new oven - faulty?? you have got to be joking. I called up the customer service team for smeg to get a technician out - surprise surprise there were no technicians available until the next week! My...Read more

Common fault not working brand new :(
Others have reported the same fault...
No power to clock display and oven will not work.
Unit was purchased from appliances online and dead on arrival.
highly disappointed.
If your willing to risk a new oven that's arrives faulty go ahead....
Will probably stick to Westinghouse Australian brand...
Italians were never good at auto electrics in the Alfas and their ovens seem to be the same...

Great cooktop Terrible oven
If you don't need an oven, this product is highly recommended. If you want to use the oven then don't buy a Smeg.
The oven on these models takes nearly half an hour to reach 180 degrees, and if you make the mistake of opening the door, it takes another 10 minutes to get back up to temperature.

The oven is not working at all
I bough this model from Good Guys on 14/07/15 Model SA9065XS, Full S/N 1 730173 50312 2464 01 15. I was trying to use the oven for the first time this morning and it's not working at all, the digital time is not functioning and not showing blinking light as mentioned in the manual. Tried to switch the oven light but there's no light at all. The manual is really no useful not enough information of troubleshooting or how to fix the issue. Not satisfy at all!

great oven
Nice oven...and so it should be for the price! Not too happy that it has plastic legs but so far so good. Lots of space which i love and heats up really quickly. Not too happy that the surrounds around the gas burners as they are easily stained with spillage..i cant figure out how to clean it. Over all pretty good but a few little things that annoy me.not sure if others are any better though.

The best way to clean the the burner skirts is to first soak them in hot soapy water.
After you have soaked the burner skirts you can use Jiff and a soft scourer to remove any of the food stains.
Great thanks!

I never regret
I bought this dual fuel from Good guys. I love this oven because it has massive cook-top space where I can leave cooked pans, pots, wok etc. The oven is electric therefore it is easy to set a correct temperature and cook top is gas therefore it is quick to heat up and suitable for Asian cooking.
Space
nothing

This oven can be quite dangerous
Totally dangerous design. Big heavy stove on fragile legs that fracture spontaneously so the entire oven falls over !!!! Even ikea use stainless steel. My husband re-checked the specc and they state it has stainless steel legs. Some one is going to get hurt, burned or killed by one of these if they fail to fix an obvious design fault. Also the rubber heat seal around the door comes off alll the time (only oven to do this for me).
It looks lovely and is a good size for entertaining
The fragile plastic legs have shattered spontaneously 4 - 5...Read more

Love the room, functionality & style
Going from a 4 burner cramped extended lengths of time cooking & 60cm wall oven where it took 3 lots of cooking for family pizza night to being able to sit & eat together after a quick meal is just that, is awesome! Not to mention best ever pizza's with pizza function :-). Can now see the food in an oven that heats up so quickly & cooks evenly. The space to cook a curry for us, stir fry for kids & rice at the same time is fantastic. It's just the best stove Ive ever had the pleasure of using.
Easy to clean. Functionality. Space. Tray storage at bottom. Stylish

Good
This is a great oven cook top combo. The oven heats up quickly and is very spacious, I can cook several trays of biscuits at once and they have very even cooking. The only big compliant is the grill function, the elemnts are spaced too wide, take too long to heat up and if you only need to grill a small thing the entire grill must be on, no half function. The grilling element also makes cleaning very sifficult. But overall it has made for many hours of successful baking and roasting. A great oven.
Heats up qickly, Glass door does not get way too hot.
Gas burners difficult to clean, too many little bits

Can you remove the door of a 90 cm Smeg oven. I inherited it when we moved in. I am cleaning it but can't see how to remove the door. The manual we were left is for a different model (60cm). Would attached a photo but don't seem to be able to. It has 5 top burners (gas) knob to the right when looking at the oven and 3 oven control buttons to left with digital clock/ timer in the middle. Can you please help?

Hi - am not sure which of the two 9065 models I have - but please don't laugh at me when I admit that I only just discovered (from another page) that the bottom tray comes out for cleaning - and then to my absolute horror I saw what was under the bottom elements - 11 years of build up which needs to come out ASAP - so please tell me the best way to do that - can I take the elements out first to clean it - and also did I read somewhere that the top one comes out too (the roof?) and that I can take the door off to clean it easier??? Where has all this information been.
Also as a side note - we purchased this oven in 2007 and have not regretted it once - I LOVE LOVE LOVE my oven, although the door has never closed properly and when it was installed we were told that is the way the door sits - but from reading above it appears we just need to have a new seal fitted - would that be correct?
thank you kindly for responding
