Don't buy this tv

published

This TV lasted 14 months... not good for price. Display cut out. Cost to fix will be too much, you may as well buy a new $400 (NZ dollar) TV at that point anyway.
Not to mention that 50hz in a cheaper TV like this can't handle displaying video games well on the PS4 which is made to play in 60Hz. Soniq is off-brand, next time we'll buy one that isn't off brand, like Panasonic, at least their similarly priced TVs would be able to handle displaying PS4 games. It was a family purchase for general use in the lounge - playing movies, video games, TV channels - all that jazz - Terrible and not worth it, glad this series was discontinued...
Recommend checking reviews online first before buying and making this mistake.

This is my second soniq 32 inch Tv the first one died just under 12 months old so Jb HiFi replaced it with a soniq e32w13a-au now this ones tuner started to play up after about a year half old & now does not tune at all.
Anyhow my advice is don't buy a Soniq TV & its the old story you get what you pay for

Terrible

published

My daughter bought this Tv which she saved for . Has not lasted, just has a blank screen and no sound anymore . Would not buy a Soniq again. Obviously not quality made. A lot of money for a kid to spend and it doesn't last more than 2 1/2 years.

2.5 years maximum operational life.

published

Purchased this model in February 2014. Worked fine for the first two and a half years, then it began to stay in standby mode. Initially the TV would come on if the power was turned off once, then it progressed to turning the power off multiple times to get it out of standby mode. Eventually it would not get out of standby mode at all. The TV was cheap but I expected it to last a bit longer than 2.5 years. No more Soniq products for me.

Piece of Crap

published

TV constantly fails. Doesn't turn over, won't turn on. It's a disgrace. Never ever buy anything from this company. They clearly have no idea how to build TVs that work.
Since purchase, it has stopped working at least 15 times. Try to update software and it works for a week, then fails again. Never ever buy anything from this company. They clearly have no idea how to build TVs that work.

Serioùs quality reviews and replacement immediatly paid all by soniq plus $ 100 cash

published

The tv is exceptable when it was functioning properly, however soniq claims their tvs are excellent products, with this model many failures any tv not lasting fully 3 years must be immediately replaced or better model supplied on the spot once examended by tech in purchases home, no expense to customer for anything full replacement with 3 year full warranty!! Soniq MUST restore customers satisfaction and faith in their products if soniq cannot accept the truth about this model tv and replace or fix it no charge than you will loose many potential customers, i have worked in marketing no product faith no chance no sale no Soniq Rise above soniq your shortcomings Please!!

Total Junk - will not turn on.

published

Soniq TV, would have to be one of the worst i've seen. Cheap, nasty and unreliable. internally, extremely sparse mainboard which has failed. Stuck in standby, won't turn on. Look it up, google this model and they all fail in the same way. Clearly a design issue. They say you get what you pay for but with Soniq, barely.

Stay away from this brand

Used handful of times then tuner blew.

published

18 months old tuner went, put set top box on it then speakers went! Used in spare room about ten times! Load of rubbish, should have gone with gut instinct with cheap and nasty brand. Never again back to Panasonic. Picture was fine when it worked, sound horrible. Not much more to say.

It Was OK For 6 Months

published

Worked OK for 6 months, the sound is pretty terrible & now I have trouble turning it on as there is something dodgy with the power cable which seems to be a common problem.
I wish I did not purchase it online as it is still under warranty however where I bought it from is an 8 hour round trip just to drop it off for repair and then another 8 hour trip to pick it up again.
It will actually cost me less to buy another TV & I definitely won't buy this model again or purchase online as the customer service is ridiculous.
Lesson learned I suppose.

Great TV for under $500

published

My first one broke after 1 year and 3 months. But I had extended warranty and I use the option to buy the same one again because it was a great TV. It plays all the files I have on my USB rmvb, mkv,xvid,divx,mp4. Sony can't even play all these files.
It has all the essential functions. It may not have a great EPG to let you see whats on it the next 2 hours but you can download that app anyway.

The worst television I have ever owned!

published

I purchased this product on 18th October 2014 and it failed on 2nd December 2014 with no picture on any channel but the sound O.K. I registered the fault under the e-warranty process with Soniq and was told to take it back to where I purchased it. I did this and they gave me a new TV - the same model. This one lasted less than 3 weeks. I failed with the same problem. Again I was told to take it back. How many times can they put their customers through this?

Bad resolution

published

We got ours today and even though it state that it has high resolution it is framed and pixelated. The picture quality is fuzzy and even though it was only a little over $300 for a 40" I would expect to be able to watch a tv show without it looking like it was recorded off a mobile phone. Wouldn't buy one again.
Price, easy to assemble, nice and easy remote.
Resolution bad, fuzzy like picture. Almost like watching a cam copy DVD when watching tv shows.

Tv won't turn on or display standby mode after changing sockets, changing remote batteries, and disconnect and reconnect the power cord. It was working with no issues a few hours ago and was turned off normally.
Is there something I can do or is it dead?
