Soniq E48W13A (48")
Has been a good TV since i brought it new in 2014 & hasn't missed a beat only just now need help on how to pree record a channel to USB hoping for an answer soon.
Purchased in May 2014 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $399.
Remote would not switch TV on, Then found if the on remote pressed softly it would switch on every time. I hope this helps someone. TV good for the price.
Hi All, I purchased one and from day one it required a few presses of the Standby button to get it going, typically it took 20 seconds from pressing the button to when the Sonic logo appeared but occasionally minutes - very frustrating. JB HiFi kept telling me 'check your remote batteries", "make sure you are pointing the remote properly" etc etc. Even though after one press it 'eventually' started, disproving their low batteries and other excuses.
Apart from this annoyance, it worked well etc. However, not it will not start at all, so I go...
Read moreogled "soniq E48W13A won't start", only to find this fault was well known on this and on other Soniq's too. To add insult to injury, a simple firmware update would have fixed it properly. Now it's too late as the regulators have burned out. I pizzes me off that all JB HiFi needed to tell me was to update the firmware and the TV would still be working now. Needless to say I'm not going to buy a replacement from them.
Purchased in July 2016 for $497.

Was in the bedroom so rarely used, used to take forever to start up . then got worse ... suddenly no more start up. seems they have bad voltage regs on there main boards that die all the time. parts are impossible to get unless you want secondhand recon and pay price of new. mine is gone in the bin.
Purchased in January 2017 at JB Hi-Fi Retail Stores for $450.

Had trouble with it initially the psu/logic board died jb hifi fixed it out of warranty
Once it was repaired its a 10/10 screen only nitpick is the backlight uniformity could be better but its such a good screen I've used it for a main monitor many times.
Could not be happier with soniq they are the new sanyo and jb hifi coffs service was very good.
Crap, don't get will die and cost you same price of tv to fix. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. bad quality tv. Sound is ok, tv quality dull, has enough ports. Purchased this model in February 2014. Worked fine for the first two and a half years, then it began to stay in standby mode. Initially the TV would come on if the power was turned off once, then it progressed to turning the power off multiple times to get it out of standby mode. Eventually it would not get out of standby mode at all. The TV was cheap but I expected it to last a bit longer than 2.5 years. No more Soniq products for me.

I purchased this tv on a budget and didnt expect anything spectacular. Had it for almost 2 years now and havent had any issues so far, apart from some distortion from speakers when volume up high as of recently. Thats ok because im getting a soundbar anyway. Plus all tv speakers are poor quality so no biggy. Pros: Picture is always crisp and clear whether im watching tv, dvd/bluray or playing ps4. It reads all video formats i can throw at it and has 4x HDMI ports. Cons: non smart tv but can use chrome cast or ps4 for apps. lacks audio output po...
Read morerts, only has optical out and thats it, not even a coaxil or headphone jack. EPG is basically poo. Doesn't support hdmi arc either. Overall you get what you pay for and i paid $499 from jbhifi for a tv that has served me well for 2 yrs on going.Find out how Soniq E48W13A (48") compares to other Full HD TVs

Serioùs quality reviews and replacement immediatly paid all by soniq plus $ 100 cash
The tv is exceptable when it was functioning properly, however soniq claims their tvs are excellent products, with this model many failures any tv not lasting fully 3 years must be immediately replaced or better model supplied on the spot once examended by tech in purchases home, no expense to customer for anything full replacement with 3 year full warranty!! Soniq MUST restore customers satisfaction and faith in their products if soniq cannot accept the truth about this model tv and replace or fix it no charge than you will loose many potential customers, i have worked in marketing no product faith no chance no sale no Soniq Rise above soniq your shortcomings Please!!

My first one broke after 1 year and 3 months. But I had extended warranty and I use the option to buy the same one again because it was a great TV. It plays all the files I have on my USB rmvb, mkv,xvid,divx,mp4. Sony can't even play all these files.
It has all the essential functions. It may not have a great EPG to let you see whats on it the next 2 hours but you can download that app anyway.

Purchased the TV 18 months ago and no longer works. We get no picture. JB HiFi wants nothing to do with it. Don't purchase this brand.

YES! It's shame dealers tried to hide this fault as the (under rated) component only cost 'cents'. Other than this one VERY common problem with SONIC, I think it is a really good TV, yet so many end...
Read moreed up in landfill. Personally I think it's criminal, and am considering reporting it to the ACCC despite the time that has passed, simply because I suspect it is still happening all the time. What's sad is I found that the SONIC distributor is happy to repair their products, it's just the retailers who seem to want only to sell you a new TV. I was in the computer industry for 25 years and knew of several dealers who's 'service policy' was to first blame the customer, threatening a large bill if they couldn't find any fault. For those persistent customers who took their faulty computer in for repair, they just sat them on a shelf for a couple weeks, then told the customer "no fault found".
