Better than Bose QC35ii
Sound is superior to bose, the features and control on the app is better and more flexible, the noise cancelling and ambient sound are fantastic, light to carry. Build quality has held up so far but not fully convinced at this stage hence the four stars

Does the job
- Don't expect any sound quality you would otherwise get from wired headphones
- Good for convenience
- User friendly app to help configure the headphone
- Not impressed with quality when calling or receiving

Lovely headphones
One of the best headphones by far. Noise cancellation levels are the best in the industry. Better quality compared to wired headphones. Makes my plane ride so much better. Thanks Sony!!

Excellent noise cancellation
Excellent noise cancellation and sound quality. Can’t hear anything when listening to music on Sydney trains.
These headphones are comfortable to wear but will take some time getting used to.
Highly recommended.

Great noise cancelling and sound, poor bluetooth connection and controls
I have a pair of Bose QC35II as well, noise cancellation seems on par on both, you can feel the change of pressure with the QC35 which some people hate but not on the Sony which is great.
Happy with the sound, look at other reviews for more details.
Autonomy is good. Charges very quickly. Not a fan of the controls, I find clicky buttons way better and more intuitive. Works more reliably too, try it in shop before you buy those.
I found the bluetooth very unreliable in general, it cuts out regularly (with or without the quality vs connection setting in the app) which is awful. I also have to unpair and pair it again sometimes which I wouldn't mind, bluetooth is always a bit temperamental, but I never had to do this with my QC35.

Hands down, the best ANC headset money can buy.
Pros:
- The ANC is insane. I wear these in the office, and at 30% volume cannot hear conversations next to me.
- Extremely comfortable and lightweight. I get Cervicogenic headaches, and heavy headsets will trigger these headaches. I can wear these for hours without any pain at all.
- The audio quality is good. Not amazing, and on the default profile, the bass is a little heavy. The bright/excited preset is the best for me I've found.
- The battery life is amazing
Cons:
- The microphone leaves a lot to desire. Muffled and hard to hear in high a...Read more

Great sound quality
Bought one on last October, I've owned it almost half a year. It does have a Great sound quality. And can be controlled via APP or gesture. But it is a bit disappointing that will feel warm when wear it in summer days.

Great for listening, but microphone is average
As I use headphones for hours on end a day, I decided it was worth investing in a high quality headset.
Based on the reviews, I decided on the Sony WH1000X m3.
Pros
- Material appears to be high quality
- Noise cancelling (ANC) is excellent. It also has a feature where it will block out ambient noise, but allow you to hear voices. Very handy for when someone wants to speak to me and it works extremely well.
- You can quickly enhance the outside noise by covering your hand on the right cup of the headphones. This essentially reduces the stream to minimum and enhances the sound around you.
- Has an equalizing pressure feature for when you are on planes.
- Easy set up....Read more

Best noise cancelling headphone with low quality material and non helpful customer care
The headband had exactly the same cracks on each side and eventually chipped just under normal use, see pictures, both side looks the same. SONY Customer care accused me for over streching it, so the warranty was void, I felt insulted. They offered me a 30% discount to buy the same product.
The noise cancelling quality was great, still going using it with some bandages on, if i can't get any replacement, will looks ugly.

Amazing product that is missing a basic feature
I Just bought a pair of wh1000xm3 headphones last week, and have been using them for over 30 hours now. I must say I am quite happy with the sound quality and also build quality. The noise cancelling feature works beautifully to cancel out airplane noise. I was just sitting at the back on an airplane, and could enjoy my audiobook/music in the quiet that the headphones created for me. Anyway, I am not going to say much about how amazing these headphones are as you can read them in other reviews.
One thing that most reviews omit to mention is la...Read more
ck of dual ADTP connectivity on these. You basically cannot connect 2 devices to the headphones for the same purpose, for example both for music. You can connect one device for calls and another device for audio, but not both at the same time. This particularly is a deal breaker for me as I switch in between my two phones a lot, which means I always have to disconnect one to be able to connect the other. Considering majority of newer headphones have this feature, it is quite surprising to see it missing from such expensive onesSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Good, not great
I like the headphones but they aren't worth the full retail price. I use these for listening to music on my laptop and making Skype calls. Likes: comfortable for my wide head, design (simple and sleek). Improvement areas: touch control isn't reliable, unable to see when low power and whether noise-cancelling is on. The noise-cancelling and sound quality weren't as good as Sennheiser PXC550 I owned before this.

Excellent sound and noise cancellation
Best pair of headphones that I have used. Sound quality is excellent. Noise cancellation is probably the best among the headphones that I have used in the past. Great to have for the daily commute and very comfortable. Only downside is that it is a bit expensive and takes time to learn how to fold it.

Great set of headphones
I think these are a fantastic product.
Its eerie having them on and hearing almost nothing.
Then the music starts and the sound quality is outstanding.
I highly recommend a set of these.

Decent headphones. lots of features
Migrating from Sennheiser mm 450 headphones..
Decent headphones. Decent Quality. Easy setup.. USB C connection which is perfect for me!! Jam packed full of features to use n tune to your specific tastes, combined with google assistant equates to more hands free operations..
Not an audiophile by any means but this does a great job for me when listening to movies and music. The ANC is top notch, just be careful you don't get mistaken for ignoring others around you!!

imitation of the headphone but bluetooth technology itself.. Case houses all necessary items in a neat/clean fashion enabling easy travel and packing of this device.. Can't comment on battery as i am yet to fully go through several charge cycles.. Can't comment on phone call quality as yet to have enough conversations to comment. Don't use the headphones whilst undertaking physical activity so can't comment..Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent
Have had these a few weeks now. Light to wear with very effective noise canceling. Easy to set up with a good range of adjustments through the app. I use them for travel and when reading or relaxing. I listen to mostly classical and jazz.

Tons of features, worth the money
I've owned these since December and in the 3 months I have had them I have almost nothing but positive things to say.
Positive things:
Noise cancellation is pretty good, easily up there with the best.
Audio quality is pretty good, but lacks the insane bass levels I crave so much (even when toying with the equalizer in the Sony app) - still, the overall audio quality is very well balanced and unlike many other brands, you have a good balance of low/mid/highs at all volume levels.
Call quality is good for the listener, not so much for the rece...Read more
iver - the headphones are not good at isolating your voice from the background noise so even in quiet areas like an office you're often asked to repeat a sentence. The app to control the headphones is great - it's all fairly simple.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Class Leading Noise Cancelling Headphones
I bought these after buying a JBL pair of noise canceling headphones and the difference is night and day. These provide a great light comfortable fit and i have slept with them on the plane without issue. Noise cancelling is very good and sound quality is excellent, and the design is beautiful with gold highlights giving a classy look. Cannot recommend these enough for anyone in the market for noise cancelling headphones.

better than Bose
Just got back from JB Hifi where I tested noise cancelling feature Bose QC 35 II and Sony wh-1000xm3. Compared them side by side, with no music playing.
Bose is not even close to the almost complete Sony's sound isolation!
I had my $80 Taotronic 022 with me, and Bose was only about 15-20% better in terms of noise blocking....And Sony was like WOW THAT IS INSANE. Almost complete silence.
No competition here, at all.
I went away with Sony (matched price with Addicted to Audio) $398

Love the touch function on earpiece
So I had straight away put the SONY to the off-road test at the gym on my cardio days. The silence when you put them on is deafening (pardon the pun). The blaring speakers at the gym are only a faint whisper once the active Noise cancelling kicks on. So tested it on my podcasts which is a good indicator of outside noise cancelation and the speech simply engulfs your ears with very very minimal outside noise (when on an elliptical trainer 10 ft away from the huge wall mounted JBL gym speakers). Tested them with songs on and there is Zero externa...Read more
l sounds anymore. Technology features are loaded and my favourite is the touchpad on the outside of the earpiece. Simple swipes up/down for volume and left/right for track changes and answering phone calls makes it's use akin to a phone screen. No learning needed. Cup the earpiece with your hand and noise cancelation stops and you can hear external noises. For example when there is an announcement at Airports/Train Stations or if someone is talking to you. Simply cup the ear and you can hear everything like you're not wearing a headphone (smart!). The Sony App, which you need to download is a really nice user friendly one too with a myriad of options for things like Atmospheric Pressure (Like if you are on a plane, it adapts to that!), and options to change the tone and even the ability to control where the sounds comes from (you can make the sound come from about 6 points virtually, making any song sound like a 7D song). I'm not a fan of making sound come from other areas except my right and left year so, don't really play with that setting. I'm a sucker for Bass Boost and the SONY 1000MX3 spoils me for choices. Mellow, Bright, Relaxed, Treble, Bass Boost, Speech,Custom settings if you like and the list goes on, and the Bass is incredible in any mode. I have re-listened to old songs and picked up instruments I never noticed before. Again, all settings are on the App and that where a good App is important for that experience. This is again something like FITBIT who beat their competition simply on a better, user friendly App. There is a google assistant feature as well. But I don't care about asking google where the nearest pizza shop is while walking? I don't use that feature, why eat up battery for being lazy. This is the first time that Sony has pipped Bose QCII 35 at the post. 10 Hours more battery life than QC35, loaded with features like swipe and noise un-canceling(cupping the ear) are outstanding innovations which gave them the #1 ranking last year. Can't comment on battery life (30 hours claim) yet, I have used it for 3 weeks now and I'm yet to re-charge it. Love the fact that there are no wires (yep they are wireless), especially when doing lateral pull-downs and working it on the elliptical trainer, no wires in the way. Another great thought they incorporated is the bigger ear pieces, I have big ears and also weird shaped inner ears that don't hold normal earphones in. My ears fit snug into these, and my glasses also stay put as the headphones close around the head. No review is complete without talking about the negatives. My only complaint really is (and this is when using them on my Cardio days at the gym), they make my ears sweat and I have to take them off every 30 minutes, wipe the dripping sweat(on ears and the earpiece) and put them back on. This problem is non existent with normal use.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
