Any chance we could install some apps, the built in browser is crap and the whole smart TV is fixed around using youtube, netflix and stan. I though it would have other app support but no. Just a piece of junk lying around

No, you'd have to buy the next model up for a Sony Android TV with to install apps. Should've done your research.

Yea, well there other apps, but I choose not to use Stan, netflix etc. Research? Man it works and I'm not sure what apps you mean.

Hi guys, what about the price $995? Is it a good deal or its better to wait?

Whilst TVs are generally getting cheaper this is essentially a personal question as how much do you need / want the TV now? Is it worth waiting a year to save another 100 or so?

ShagShag
ShagShag

Hi Robert! Thanks for your reply. I was just wondering if should I buy it now or it's worth to wait until the boxing day sale.

Skiddy
Skiddy

Currently the average price for this TV is around $1100 retail, so yes the price is reasonable but you can find it at the Sony online store for $899 at the moment with free delivery. As Robert said it's a question of do you need /want now or wait a period, remembering that waiting too long will mean you will be purchasing older technology.

The best I could get on my 49" in game mode without HDR was about 66ms, which is alot higher than the rtings.com test of the 720E. Not recommended for gaming. HDR should be same or worse.

It is an IPS display

The 43" and 49" are IPS. The 55" is VA. I believe the 65" is also VA, but you should confirm in store. (Tapping a VA panel will cause a white flash, no flash with IPS).
