Great product
Had had no issues with the one I bought miss 9 last year. Great to be able to see which way she is walking home from school or to get in touch. Her school doesn’t allow mobiles but are fine with the Spacetalk with the school mode function. Even dunked it under the shower once and haven’t had a problem. Appears to be well made. Have no problem recommending them. Sure some kids are going to be tuff on them, but give them a phone and they’ll probably lose it, drop it or site behind a tree and play games or watch YouTube! I know mine would anyway!

Great when it actually stays charged
It does everything it claims to. Very useful to call my daughter and let her know ill be a few minutes late etc HOWEVER it very quickly refuses to hold a full charge if it charges at all over night. I suspect the contact points between the watch and useless charger quickly become eroded and dont transfer current. It also has problems holding a charge throughout the day even with the auto reporting set to long intervals. Its hard to recommend in its current state but there is nothing else in the price range that will do what it dos WHEN it works. Ill be returning this one back to JB HIFI for our 3rd replacement in 6 months!

Not of premium quality
Although the watch is good functionally, it is of poor build quality. My child has had it for maybe almost a year, and it doesn’t charge properly etc etc. Will revert to a phone I think.

Needs improvement
Excellent product in theory and brilliant customer support but it’s not tough enough for kids. It needs to more durable and water proof/resistant. I had tracking issues which have been fixed by updates and then the charger just stopped working. If a 2.0 version come out fixing those problems I would buy it

Not made for kids, but made for kids
I am going to be as constructive as I can as let's face it this is an expensive purchase. I am rating each part of this product with stars. I will rate functionality, battery life, customer service, durability and waterproofing.
The functionality of this watch is exactly as they say. It has not failed us in that sense. So 1/1 star! Im happy here.
The customer service is seriously flawless, there isn't a moment that the company does not assist so again well done 1/1 star!

sending out signals. If you have frequent signals pinging back to the app it drains battery life very quickly so reduce it to hourly and it lasts a full day. So 1/1 star. Now to the cons. This watch seriously was made without the daily activity of a child in mind. It can not get wet ..... At all!!!! I mean at ..... All!!!!! Our little miss 8 year old got it wet while washing her hands and it died. So now washing hands at school the watch has to come off and back on again and in turn the clasps have broken and she has lost the rubber holders that the band slips into on numerous occasions. We ended up purchasing a few to have on hand but it is truly annoying. We were lucky in the instance of the wet watch as we had had many other issues with the watch previously and the company was great in arranging a replacement for half price so again customer service great but now I am up to almost $500 for this watch. So for waterproofing it gets 0/1 stars. Really disappointing.1 comment

Potentially Dangerous
We purchased this for $349.00 from AllMyTribe on 23/02/2019 after reading fantastic reviews and having it recommended by several of our close friends. Given the age of our toddler (not in school yet) we liked the fact that it could teach her the time, monitor her exercise/walking activity, enable us to teach her how to ring mummy and daddy and understanding 000/Police for an emergency, along with having alerts sent if she ever got lost. Of particular interest, and initial concern was if anybody ie; a stranger could ring the Watch without us kno...Read more
wing. AllMyTribe put our mind to rest stating that we could not only block all "unlisted' numbers by going into the settings, but it would immediately notify us of any unsolicited text and or phone call not programmed into the watch via our mobile. Fast forward to 11:15 am this morning the Watch was sitting on our child's desk in her bedroom when we heard it ringing. A little confused at first as both our mobiles were in front of us and neither of us was ringing it and no "Notification Alerts" were coming up on our phones. Curious of course we go get her Watch to see an unfamiliar number and answer it to somebody claiming to be looking for an "engineer". Thankfully our child did not answer the call, but much to my initial concern before buying this piece of crap, the SpaceTalk did not only NOT log the incoming phone number on the App, but Telstra informed us that they can not pull the log and see what/who the incoming number was from. So to sum it up, and hence my "Title", you could send your child out to play, to school, and or another event where there is not "close monitoring" and anyone can call the device without you ever knowing who it was and or for what. Buy with caution.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

2nd Spacetalk is dead within 8 months. Avoid...
My daughter came home today. Her second watch broke within a year. The right power button has no feedback and the watch will not switch on. We have been really careful not to get it wet or moist. I wipe it down each night after school. I took it off her when she had a water-based excursion.
It is ludicrous, the IP rating on this device is so low. A school going kid can't be limited by water intrusion, washing hands, sports and other school activities... See below for previous experience with the first watch.
Avoid, save your money....
Just to make clear. I am an advocate of this device, the software and its capability. When it works, it’s amazing.
HOWEVER…

Not good enough Spacetalk
Had problems setting it up. Could not sync with my phone so I tried other phones. No luck. There is nothing wrong with my phone as I could sync it with my Fitbit no problems. When I finally got it to sync with a tablet then finally managed to set it up. Phone was good for maybe a week. Now it is permanently stuck on school mode even when I only set it on the app to activate school mode during school hours (9 to 3.30 Mon to Fr) Definitely did not set it up to activate school mode on a weekend. I can't change settings on the watch as it is in sch...Read more
ool mode so the watch is basically useless now. Cannot track, cannot make calls. I've tried turning off school mode permanently on the app but that doesn't work either. I'm now stuck on the weekend with a $349 "smart" watch that doesn't even tell the correct time (watch is 2 hours behind). The best part of this is that no one at Spacetalk or Allmytribe (who runs the app) can help as their "customer service" hours is only Monday to Friday 9am -5pm. (Both the phone number and emails are only answered during those hours, believe me I tried). Who thought of that? a busy working parent who works "normal" working hours cannot possibly be expected to only call up during those hours to troubleshoot. this is simply not good enough. If I had the time to call up customer service between 9 to 5 I wouldn't need the watch in the first place. The funny thing is is that if you go to their website and other websites there are several "satisfied customers" that sing the praises of this product. Well so far my experience with this product is that, at $349 a pop (which is more expensive than my Fitbit), I was expecting a higher quality product than this garbage.Similar opinion? Questions & Answers
Melanie Wilsonasked
Hi, can someone please advise where I can buy replacement bands? My daughter is 8years old and she is a little build, so the watch looks huge and bulky on her little wrist. Thought maybe trying a thinner band might make it a little more comfortable for her to wear.
Kind Regards,
Mel

Hi Melanie,
Currently there is only one type of band available for the watch due to the unique design, however I can pass your suggestion on to our design and development team!

hi how long do I charge my watch for because it never says how long?

We charge it over night each night for the whole night. If the battery runs out at other times then just charge it until it is 100pc. It seems to charge pretty quickly.
We also charge my daughters overnight so it is always 100% in the morning.

Hi, is this normal for the spacetalk watch to heat up after charging? only had the watch for 4 days.

Hi there!
The watch emitting warmth may indicate it is having trouble completing a process and is working harder than normal. This can sometimes be due to the service provider used or the coverage in the area, but I would recommend contacting our support team on 1300 087 423 or email [email protected] so they can check on things for you.
