great little pump
This is a great little pump. Fantastic suction which you can use for double pumping. I haven't tried the double but single is fantastic and quieter than my medela swing. Could be more portsble but will suit most mum's needs. The manual leaves a lot to be dediref though. Otherwise Highly recommended!
quiet, great suction and price
could be morr portable. needs a decent manual

Great little pump! A real lifesaver for my milk supply!!!
This is an excellent pump, simple and easy to use and easily packs into the nappy bag to take when out and about. When I bought this I was suffering from a bad case of mastitis, miserable and struggling with expressing. My baby can't breastfeed so I am exclusively expressing and really needed a portable pump. After reading all the reviews I decided on this pump and am very happy with it. I like that it is a closed system, more hygienic, also the letdown feature is really handy. I double pump and get more than enough milk for my baby.

rom day 1 I have been able to pump just as much milk with the M1 as with the hospital grade pump I had hired, plus it is more comfortable to use. The whole pump vibrates and that is the feeling you get when pumping, a bit unusual at first but much more comfortable than the "pulling" suction of the hospital pump. I still did find the flanges a bit uncomfortable (as with all flanges) so I bought the silicon inserts which helped and I also found the inserts were useful if I got a blocked duct to "massage" it out. I now use Pumpin Pals flanges, making it even more comfortable, and the combination of them with the Spectra M1 is perfect for me! Even though the M1 isn't supposed to be for exclusive expressing, I've been using it now for 6 weeks around the clock and it hasn't missed a beat (I'm waiting for the S1 to come in stock!!!). The only improvement I could think of is a handle would be handy since its portable, but I just carry it around in a plastic container, so its really not an issue. Customer service from Spectra has been wonderful, I couldn't fault it! I would definitely recommend this pump! Cute, compact, easy to use, more comfortable than the hospital pump.

Great pump
This was great when I first went back to work. I was able to charge it and leave it at work for a couple of days before needing to recharge. It was small enough to chuck in my handbag and never let me down. I love that Spectra's pumps are closed systems as before it I had a medela and it got mold in it. When we asked Medela about it they said it NEVER happens, yet a search of the net shows it does all.the.time I also loved the fact that my pump arrived the very next day after I ordered it!
reliable, inexpensive, quick delivery, good size

Customer Service could not be better!
Ok, I had an issue with my pump. I can forgive that and still rave about the customer service.
Pre-purchase I had assistance from Maire who was fantastic. After issues, I had amazing service from Ellen. Could not rave about them enough! I changed my pump to an S2 as I was scared of going back (I have had terrible luck with previous pumps by different makers). I would recommend Spectra to anyone who asks (and some who don't!)
Nice and compact, inbuilt rechargable battery. Legendary customer service and quick turnaround on warranty
My pump had an issue.

Didn't meet expectations
I was really looking forward to using the M1 especially as I've just started studying and in another couple of months will be returning to work so did some research into a double pump. Spectra had great reviews for their s2 and a friend of mine loves her dew350. I needed something more portable so opted for the M1. I was dismally disappointed the first time though as after 20 minutes of trying different settings, different seating positions and even trying the pump with the avent soft petal inserts, still nothing but a couple of slow drops - no...Read more
t what I got up at 2am for and then to go back to the old avent manual and getting 80odd mls in under 10mins. It does get better with every use but i also have to use my old Avent silicone inserts as the pump is too big for me so it still takes 20-25mins to get 120mls or so. Also, the pump is not something I would use next to a sleeping baby or partner due to the noise when pump is on the top two stronger settings. I'm sure the pump would be fine for a bigger person but its not for me -$180 down the drain :( On a plus side, their customer service is very good. Different settings and portability, customer service Too big, needs different size shields or inserts because not all mums are the same sizeSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Yep

The M1 is a personal pump, so not hospital grade.
The S1 and the S2 are hospital grade pumps. :)

Hi,
I'm using Spectra M1 close to 2 years and changed motor once. Recently, i notice that the suction pressure has weaken. Could you please advise a possible caused? I hope replacing the parts will solve the problem as I love this pump very much.

Hi Celine,
Thanks for reaching out about your M1. It is a fabulous pump, and such a great size. Usually we find that when suction starts to reduce it is an indication that the shield set parts need replacing. Usually the valves and membranes need to replaced every 3 - 4 months (more frequently if you are exclusively expressing) and the backflow protectors every 6 months. I would definitely replace those parts and am confident that will solve your problem.
If you still have any worries after replacing your parts, then please get in contact with our Customer Support team and we will be happy to do further troubleshooting with you. We are on Facebook, so you can message us anytime, or use our email or phone number.
Kind regards,
Alli

Hi Monique I was wondering where you bought your pumpin pal flanges from and if you found they fit perfectly in the MI because I read on their website they are not recommended for spectra pumps? Thanks!
