Just travelled on Spirit of Tas for the 3rd time. First time on the recliners as the cabins are ridiculously overpriced and the most uncomfortable sleep ever. Well, the recliners weren’t a step up at all. They are extremely hard after a few hours it feels like you are sleeping on concrete. The worst part is, I was bitten by bed bug!!! 2 massive welts on my hips! I just hope that I haven’t brought them into my home now! Not happy, I will be pursuing legal action if I have.

The lice problem too has been a long term issue. They’ve replaced seats, even tried freezing them. School holidays and backpackers seem to be the culprits. Best to avoid if one can.

Animals dying on this Cruise Boat !! this is totally unacceptable and totally irresponsible !!!
This Business should be shut down due to the animals dying and tragedies like these occurring and grieving Pet Owners who now have nothing but sadness and life long enduring grief !!!
SHAMEFUL, HOW A SAD LACK OF ANIMAL WELFARE STANDARDS COULD BE OVERLOOKED !

Is it worth getting the deckchairs or are there plenty of comfortable seats available on the boat?
2 answers
Deck chairs are ok for the day sail it's just uncomfortable to sleep on them but other people seemed to be sleeping ok so I guess it's up to the individual person there are other seats everywhere around the boat but of on the night sail you are not allowed to sleep on them good luck and happy sailing
When we sail, we always take a cabin on an overnight sailing and therefore do not have any experience with deckchairs.

Are the cabins cleaned between sails? Our bathroom was not cleaned between the people who came over on the night sail and us on the day sail.

Disposable gas bottles that have been previously opened (ie partially used) are not permitted onboard . Only unopened disposable bottles are allowed to be carried.
They want to see ALL the gas bottles you have in your possession. They confiscated the one that was in our portable stove.

Spirit fares are non flexible with travel dates and are non refundable.
Flexi fares can change travel dates and are refundable under certain circumstances.
Spirit fares will charge $40 to amend your booking up to forty eight hours before but a flexi fare is free to change.

Several years ago when we done a trip to Tasmania and after we paid for our trip TT lines sent us some plastic type credit type cards that gave you entry into a room with recliner type chairs which was included in the price of the fare (though we never used them). Are these still available or are they gone?

How close are the cars parked to each other on the ship? We are thinking if taking the porsche down but don't want it to be damaged on the trips to & from.
2 answers
the cars are parked about 300 mm apart, if you have a porsche demand your not parked next to a door into the ship, people tend to bang their cases as they come onto the car decks, take your own food even tho you own a porsche you cant afford the food and take your own coffee machine or a thermos
Hey Emma! I work on board the ship. The cars are parked 300mm away although since it's a more expensive vehicle, you will be the last to board but however a spot where no cars are next. You cannot demand not to be parked next to a car door as staff will call the captain and the captain will call security. But as I said you'll be one of the last to board and one of the last to disembark but your parked usually on deck 5 and away from other vehicles.
Cheers, Will.

Hi, id like too know about the 89 cruise too tasmania?
1 answer
Exactly what do you need to know?
. If you're taking the day cruise (summer) I suggest you don't bother with the extra expense of ocean recliners as there is plenty of comfortable seating in various areas of the boat.

Does Quarantine thoroughly search your car? If so, are you present when they do?
2 answers
Yes and yes.
The answer came a bit late as I've been & gone 10 months ago! As a matter of fact they didn't search my car at all. They asked questions through the car window.
