Improved mobile banking
St George has a massive improvement on mobile banking which has become more convenient for money transaction. However, it still has errors with the balance of the account . Such as in transit

What a waste of time. Horrible
As a business person, with an extensive business portfolio, I applied for a credit card after being with ANZ for 20 years. I went to Judo bank in an attempt to get away from the big banks but then needed a new credit card. I have a spotless credit record but St George would keep on asking more and more information, and you need to wait 2 days after every submittal. They just do not seem to know what information they need and ask a little and process a little. Once they did not respond in four days and when I phone them they were waiting for mo...Read more
re information, without informing me. This kept on for more than 20 days and I had to withdraw because it is not going to end. PLEASE save yourself a lot of trouble and do not go there. I wish I have looked at these reviews earlierSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Horrible customer service
To deal with a fraud they have taken more than 2 hours to understand what has happened and kept transferring me one dept to other but no help at all. Very poor customer service.....highly annoyed.

Bad bad bad customer service
Getting completion on finance documents is abysmal. They take too long to respond and then do not listen to your concerns regarding their poor service. Trying to get a answer by phone takes too long.

Changing Banks
I have constantly experienced terrible customer service when using phone contact with St George as customer of theirs for the past ten years. It has constantly ended in frustration and disappointment - only that we have a business, and so many accounts with them we have been reluctant to change but we can not handle their lack of support to their paying customers any longer - we will be jumping ship

Awesome
Way better than Comm bank where they keep people waiting for 2 hrs. 10 minutes is okay. Also taking credit or loans is very easy. And the favourite part is customer service which is excellent.

Hopeless app security and hopeless security check
The security in the iphone app is completely hopeless. They do allow you to use Touch ID which is by far the most secure way to check that its me using the app but they cancel that every time they update the app and fall back to using the far less secure security code and internet password to enable Touch ID again. No other bank that I have an iphone app with does it that stupidly with Touch ID,
They were almost last to offer Apple Pay too. Not good enough St George.

Terrible
I rang them 6 consecetive days to get update of the application,
They ask the same questions regarding my 2nd job, where I supplied same answer.
Each phone call at least take about 15-20 mins.
Last time I rang they again asked me the same question and I end up cancelling my application.
Either they do not pass the answers I given to them at all.
Or somthing wrong with there entire process.
Really bad service where chewing up customers valuble time!

Closed Savings Account without warning
Opened an online everyday savings account with debit card. I went on a holiday overseas for two months. They closed the account for no reason. Wasn't even on my online banking any more. Stay away from this bank.

Cut off 3 times then wont activate credit card
On phone then Cut off 3 times then asked to do a survey lol. 4th time girl said can't activate card. Talked to manager put on hold for 35 minutes. Didnt say a word about coming back. After 60 minutes and after 5pm they didnt bother to return to the phone. The most moronic behaviour ive seen from any customer service. I encourage everyone to their business elsewhere.

Impossible to activate my credit card
I applied for a credit card online and was accepted after bringing supporting documents in-branch. I received it within a few weeks but was unable to activate it. I called the hotline, waited forever and the operator told me they can't find the said documents. I therefore had to go back to the branch to provide the same documents a second time. Thereafter I received a confirmation that everything is in order and the card is activated. However, the card still isn't working. I called the hotline again, waited another eternity, and the operator doesn't know what is going on. I was told I have to go back to the branch for the third time. That's where I'm at.

Telephone customer service - shocking!
Been with this bank less than a month and already they are causing unnecessary stress. Only join up with these if you enjoy spending an hour on the telephone to get through.

Would never choose this bank again
We entered in to a home loan 7 years ago with St George and have unfortunately had to sell the home at a loss.
Knowing this was going to be the case, we made contact to advise them so.
It has been an extremely long winded process, speaking to several people in several different occasions who had no idea about the process involved with using LMI to cover this short fall (including being told LMI isn't a thing anymore or to just nominate a bank account for the short fall... Not sure how many people have a spare 50k sitting around... We wou...Read more

St.George customer service - what happened?
I have been with the StGeorge bank for almost 25 years . Last year i disputed a transaction on my card. My card was cancelled and i was given a credit on my replacement card. However, i did not receive my replacement card so they had to reissue it not once but several times. Each time they were checking my address and it was correct but apparently they send a several replacement cars to my old address. The only solution (after a few moths ) was for me to go to their branch to pick it up. I finally got the card but when i checked online there ...Read more
was no credit applied. i called their customer service. The first customer service representative, after a long wait, had no idea what to look for or what to do. She transferred me to their fraud team. They confirmed that they issued a credit and is sitting in one of my accounts (card that i never received ) but they cannot transfer it across. They had to put me back in the queue to talk to their customer service department. After exactly 50 minutes the representative who answered my call could not even find my card in the system. I was transferred to the supervisor who also could not find my card - the reason being - i was transferred to the Westpac bank customer service. Sadly, I will be closing my accounts with StGeorge . Their customer service used to be exceptional. What has happened?Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Poor customer service
Been with this bank for 27 years, it has changed so much since becoming part of westpac, customer service is non existent, most employees are incompetent and unable to help, also because of the new wave of asian employees most of them have poor language skills and rarely attend to non asian customers

Stay away - You have been warned!
I currently have a mortgage with St George, however do most of my banking with another provider. Today I tried to apply for a simple $5000 credit card so I could take advantage of the 0% balance transfer rate. Just to help us pay off an unexpected debt. We have the cash available, but didn't want to eat up our savings. I spoke with the first call taker. I explained to her that I currently have two novated leases on both my vehicle and my wife's vehicle. The total costs (including all fuel, maintenance, and loan repayments) are debited from my p...Read more
ay PRIOR to me receiving my fortnightly income. The amount taken out is made up of both pre and post tax dollars. I spoke with the call taker who had no idea how to incorporate this into a simple application for the credit card. I then requested to speak to the manager - again useless. After being on the phone for an hour and a half at this stage (I was told the application process should take 20 minutes) I spoke to a third person. He stated that as these repayments had already been taken into account, the liability for the two cars would not be taken into account for the application. He later changed his mind about this and claimed that he would need to use the exact pay that gets deposited into my account to determine my income and then also take into account the two car loans as liabilities. I told him that if this was the case, I would then add back the Pre and Post Tax Dollars to give me an 'actual take home figure without any car payments. He refused to allow me to do this as the application needed to state the amount deposited into my account. This meant, for St George to approve me for this credit card, my car loan liabilities would be deducted twice. I then spoke with another manager, who appeared to have no experience in customer service and he agreed with the other bloke. AS soon as my mortgage is no longer within a fixed interest rate period, I will be leaving St George. I have had a number of other issues with St George over the years with their lack of knowledge and also their lack of security of my account, but that's a whole different story. Stay away - choose another lender. You've been warned!!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
