Service-oriented ethical banking
I have been with Bank Australia for over 8 years coinciding with the purchase of my first house. Makes my life much easier - especially now!
I first joined, what is now bank Australia, in about 1985. I found the staff to be very reliable and helpful. I now conduct my banking, mainly online. The bank keeps me up to date with banking matters, If I have any queries I contact them and they quickly respond. Very pleased with the customer service and bankAustralia.

Personal loan made easy

I love this bank!
I have been with Bank Australia for 4 years since I arrived in the country as an international student. Our banker was very patient and transparent to me on every possible option to get my money's worth. Also, I love their online banking as I suffered no glitch whatsoever. I love that my money is not invested in the fossil fuel industry!

Extremely motivated and solutions-focused
I recently took out a car loan with Bank Australia. My car dealership was a bit difficult, providing the wrong information and/or being slow. The COVID-19 lockdown also made the process a bit more complicated. The Bank Australia staff were excellent: friendly, quick to respond, and putting in a great deal of effort to resolve problems quickly to arrange finance by the deadline. For example, when their online system didn't properly register our acknowledgement of documents they arranged this over the phone at short notice. And when I forwarded (incorrect) documents from the dealership, Bank Australia went straight to the dealership rather than making me do it. I was very impressed.

Best banking experience ever!
We have been Bank Aus customers for 3 yrs and recently went to Canberra Civic branch to enquire about a loan. Kiera was an absolute pleasure to work with and made everything easy with so much help and patience. She was a consummate and kind professional throughout and did everything she said she would. This was truly the best banking experience we have ever had! We could not more highly recommend both Bank Aus and Kiera personally.

Incredible customer service (and ethical bank!)
Keira at the Canberra branch showed amazing service right from the start. We wanted to move to an ethical bank and Kiera & Bank Australia have made that happen. Always on top of emails, phone calls and any questions we had about our home loan. Wonderful to have settled with Bank Australia.

Very easy and seamless
Just set up 3 new loans and have been very impressed with everything we have experienced.
Customer service has been excellent and this has been in the loan process with Sonya Willis and with the online banking where I have dealt with 2 people.

Not Bank Responsible at all QLD outages Exposed! Stay Clear
The customer service team fully knew that the banking application and website was a full outage 5th April 2020. The staff covered up incorrect information. I been with the bank for a few weeks. At first I had a great customer Agent who was hands on. However they covered up facts and mislead information. When I gave over 40 emails of screen shots and evidence the Customer Advocate had this live as it was happening. The Customer Advocate made no attempt at all to help.

Excellent direct support that saved a quagmire of a start
I chose Bank Australia for their reasonable interest rates and ethical banking. There have been a few problems with communication and set up issues, but luckily each time Kiera has been able to slide in and save the day while making things as painless as possible.

A bank you will actually LOVE
We joined Bank Australia due to their ethical banking record and when it came time to get a home loan we shopped around and were pleasantly surprised to find Bank Australia were by far the more competitive option. The service we received to date has been incredible. We were assigned a single point of contact and our banker Danielle has been so responsive and helpful. Alongside making the loan simple to navigate, she assisted with setting up extra accounts for us and arranging quotes for insurance and free credit cards. She’s also kept us updated on rate changes that may affect us and has been so available to all our questions. For the first time in my life I’ve enjoyed banking!

Exceeded my expecations
After sixty years of being with one of the big four banks I switched to Bank Australia, partly as a protest against investments in fossil fuels, but also due the poor service and attitude, the lack of customer care I had been receiving. Review for Danielle Dodd, Canberra Branch
Danielle was very helpful and responsive in our mortgage application. She was always available and friendly when we went into the Canberra branch and explained the mortgage options in ways that we could understand. She guided us through the application process and helped trouble shoot a couple of issues that arose. The only challenge was that it was difficult to reach Danielle by phone. We had to phone through the Bank Australia switch board which meant lengthy holds at times.

Stellar customer service
We've recently switched to Bank Australia from one of the 'big four' banks, as part of the protest against investment in fossil fuels, since we were needing a new loan anyway. Bank Australia's customer service has been unbelievably good. I'd forgotten what it feels like to deal with "real people", you know? What could have been really complicated, especially given the disruptive year, they have made simple and easy and even enjoyable. I would have recommended them anyway as a model of bank I approve of: customer-owned, responsible investment. If every bank were like this there would be no financial crisis and no climate crisis! And then on top of that to be so good at their job, it's a dream come true.

So fast and simple to set up my new business account!

We’re registered with ASIC and regulated by APRA. We hold an Australian financial service licence (AFSL), an Australian credit licence (ACL) and are an authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI).

As a first home buyer what happens if the bank under valued the property I put an offer on. I’m already at 95% loan and have the new government scheme. Will I miss out on the loan?

Hi Maddie. We send out independent valuers to value the property and it's reasonably rare that a valuation comes in below the purchase price paid by a buyer. If that did happen, it would mean that we were limited to providing finance for up to 95% of the property valuation. The only time it has been a problem for me is when I wanted to withdraw cash above the atm limit. This requires going to a branch currently I am retaining my old bank account to cover this eventuality.
