Exceptional Customer Service
We have all of our accounts and now our home loan with Bank Australia. Not only are they a sustainable bank but we have had the most positive experience with their customer service. Brad Day from the Canberra team assisted us with our first home loan this year and we couldn't have asked for more. He was efficient, friendly and always happy to answer our many questions!
Bank Australia offer competitive rates and banking options and we couldn't recommend them more highly!

Always outstanding
We've been with Bank Australia for over three years now and have never found something that is too hard or unachievable. All requests are met with a genuine interest in helping out and are followed through. We've recently taken out our first home loan and felt supported at every step, despite some challenges with the reinsurer. Couldn't recommend them more.

So easy to open an account!
I've just opened 2 accounts with Bank Australia: one and everyday account, the other a bonus saver.
The process was very well organised and easy to follow with the key features I needed to understand in obvious places. My Debit card has arrived and I've set it up via Internet Banking. I'm good to go!

Banking on the go
Good bank to deal with! Staff was nice and prompt to provide product we wanted. Very easy to do online banking. The design layout is simple to use allowing us to do whatever we need to in few clicks

Ive only just refinanced my mortgage with Bank Australia after being with one of the big 4 for a decade. So far the experience has been excellent - the staff are friendly, professional and responsive without being at all pushy.

Bradley Day
Bradley helped us navigate a Basic Home Loan. We found him to be courteous, responsive and helpful. When Bradley had to hand our file to someone else due to absence we noticed a dip in service and were glad to have him back on his return.

Switching all our banking to Bank Australia for ethical reasons
So far it has been a seemless experience. We have a single point of contact who has been guiding the whole process of refinancing with Bank Australia. We also shifted our property insurance to them (Alliance). They are very responsive to any questions and online banking and phone app are simple to use.

Bad Communication
If this bank did care about its customers maybe it would've advised me that their interest rates were about to drop (in 3 days) before I opened new accounts and transferred funds. For them to say 'we didn't know', 'we weren't told' and 'we need to make money' just says the bank couldn't care less about their customer. Maybe the people who face the customer should know, they didn't mislead me but they certainly didn't inform me.

Great customer service-courteous throughout
Have been with Bank Australia for a couple of years now and recently obtained a credit card with them, finally able to ditch the one I had with one of the"big 4". Glad to do all my banking with an ethical bank.

Poor customer service
I recently had to contact bank Australia about a direct debit I didn't authorize from my bank yht..ht.account. They had no interest in helping me.i wiil be closing my account and going to another bank.very poor customer service

Difficult and slow
My partner and I were exploring using this bank and was going through the process of pre approval, this process took a long time and the person we dealt with was confusing and difficult to understand. When we finally had an offer and were ready to proceed despite us advising we had hecs they only just realised after we needed final approval, they then turned around and advised we would have to come up with 20k or they couldn't proceed. Luckily we had also engaged with another broker and successfully got a loan with another bank as if we had just used Bank Australia we would have been in a very stressful and difficult situation. I would not recommend.

Totally satisfied
I recently contacted the bank by phone with a query about my account. The rep. I spoke with was very helpful and introduced me to a new product with a better interest rate on my savings.
In general though, I have been with this bank for 40 years (started with SIROCREDIT) and have always been satisfied with the service.
I applaud the bank for its philosophy and action in support of community and ethical/sustainable investment. This is a key reason for my continued involvement with Bank Australia.

Very happy I made the switch from Big 4
Just made the switch from Australia's biggest bank. The whole experience has been very easy and the staff at Bank Australia have been helpful and genuinely caring. I chose for their ethical credentials, but was also very happy to see their credit card is rated 5 stars by Canstar in 2022.

After three weeks of lies such as your loan is approved pending valuation, your loan is approved can we just get this document (already supplied 3 times or more), whats this bank account ... umm the business account that we have with you.... numerous costly extensions to our settlement and immeasurable stress and run arounds... they all of a sudden said we were unable to finance a loan that was

Our kind of bank!
We are swapping from ANZ. We wanted a bank that respects ethical considerations in banking. The staff we dealt with (Indu and Manjit) were very helpful, pleasant and efficient. Above all both communicated well, answered all our questions clearly and cheerfully. It was a very welcoming start.

I suppose we have been with the predecessors of Bank Australia since my husband first joined the CSIRO in 1962. It has always been reliable, helpful and did not charge the earth to belong to. Customer service has always been very polite, prompt, pleasant and altogether a positive experience.

BRILLIANT ETHICAL BANK
LOVE THIS BANK. I switched to Bank Aus this year. The process was straightforward and quick. The staff in Brisbane at West End are really helpful and knowledgable. I think it is so important that our money is not backing up polluting industries...or tobacco and military equipment firms. You can leave a bit in your old account and have it open awhile just to catch any direct debits you may have missed...or paypal. The phone app is great...same with the Australian customer service on the phone.

A pleasure to visit the bank in Castlemaine
I have been with Bank Australia for 5 years. I am not technically very able and have several times had embarrassing slip ups with my bank transactions etc however unfailingly the staff have been patient, pleasant and understanding. My recent dealings have been with Yvette and she has been outstanding in her professionalism and pleasantness.
I am so happy to be with Bank Australia.

We’re registered with ASIC and regulated by APRA. We hold an Australian financial service licence (AFSL), an Australian credit licence (ACL) and are an authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI).

As a first home buyer what happens if the bank under valued the property I put an offer on. I’m already at 95% loan and have the new government scheme. Will I miss out on the loan?

Hi Maddie. We send out independent valuers to value the property and it's reasonably rare that a valuation comes in below the purchase price paid by a buyer. If that did happen, it would mean that we were limited to providing finance for up to 95% of the property valuation. The only time it has been a problem for me is when I wanted to withdraw cash above the atm limit. This requires going to a branch currently I am retaining my old bank account to cover this eventuality.
