The best bank in Australia!

I've been with bank australia for over 3 years now. they are fantastic!

by far the most ethical bank in australia, they truly care about where you money goes and what it supports via investments.

they have taken a great stand on environment issues, on women's equality issues, for those experiencing homelessness, and for trying to end the live export of farmed animals.

they have a great mobile app, I'm very happy with this bank and recommend them to everyone!

I bank with the Bendigo branch of Bank Australia. I'm always greeted with with a smile when I walk in, no matter who I see. Rachael H and Jade M were super helpful when my Mum passed away and I needed help with her estate. The mortgage I have is so easy to manage that I'm taking out my next one with Bank Australia too! They all seem to love their work, and it shows. Its so much better than dealing with a big faceless bank. Keep up the great work Bendigo!! :-)

Have been with Bank Australia for well over 10 years and always found them easy to deal with, reliable, friendly & helpful. This latest interaction was to help with my elderly mother's accounts using power of attorney - no trouble here, unlike another bank I'm also dealing with in the same capacity where I have to jump through so many hoops & red-tape it's ridiculous!

We just joined Bank Australia for home loan, credit cards and insurance. Everyone has been really helpful, particularly Eddie Jara from lending who did a thorough and speedy job with our refinance. The whole experience of moving everything over has been smooth. We love Bank Australia's ethical approach to money and we got a great home loan rate as well.

Easy to sign up with, been hassle-free so far, provided competitive rates, and I know they stand for ethics in Australia. Perfect bank. If you're thinking of moving from the big three banks like I was, stop putting it off and go with this bank. Highly recommended!

Wish we had changed banks earlier

We are currently in the process of moving all our banking from one of the big four banks to Bank Australia due to their ethical, environmental and sustainability credentials. The findings of the RC was the final trigger for us to do it. In all of our interactions with BA staff, they have been very friendly, helpful and accommodating, which has made this huge task a lot easier. We love their conservation project as well as their competitive products. Looking forward to being away from our Big 4 knowing BA clean money approach to loaning and investing money is aligned with our values and helps our daughter's future rather than harming it.

We recently moved our banking across from one of the big four banks. Eddie, our BA representative, managed the transition smoothly and professionally. The Bank Australia app is easy to use and the call centre very efficient - several calls later, Ive only been placed on hold once, and for less than two minutes. Any query weve had has been addressed quickly and effectively. Aside from feeling reassured that Bank Australia is focused on ethical practice, its products and services have also met - and in some cases, exceeded - our expectations. Highly recommend.

Ive recently moved my home loan from one of the big 4 to Bank Australia. After the findings of the Hayne RC it feels good to support a bank with its ethics and morals in the right place. The customer service is supreme with a dedicated expert to help you throughout the process. The big 4 have nothing on this awesome little bank. We will be moving all of our accounts very soon.

Great customer service and ethics

I've recently joined Bank Australia and am very impressed with their timely and helpful customer service. I'm also happy to see how much of an effort has gone into being environmentally and socially responsible, such as no investments in the fossil fuel, tobacco or gambling industries, and a lot of great initiatives like the Conservation Reserve. The website is easy to navigate, full of good info and the app is easy to use. Highly recommended.

Not able to lend for a 500 acre farm

I was looking at changing to Bank Australia but was told that they would not consider lending for a 500 acre farm due to its size. They did not even ask the price (only 245k). Disappointing

Unable to access services for 6 months

I really wanted to switch to an ethical bank as Australia's big 4 certainly are not, I lasted only a couple of weeks and had to stay with my existing bank as I wasn't able to borrow a cent for at least another 6 months as I have changed jobs. I have been with my current employer for 3 months, but lasted 13 years with my previous employer. I was looking at borrowing a small amount to finish the backyard, but could not and I wasn't even asked about my my partners income/job status, equity in the home, savings, or super. I really wanted this bank to be different and I really wanted it to work. I am truly disappointed.

With bank about 6 years maybe. Took out a mortgage house loan four years ago. Very good service, philosophy, interest, and we own it! We dont have to support a dividend. I would recommend to everyone. Thanks for the opportunity to write.

I joined 2 weeks ago. The day after I joined, I got a phone call and the guy answered all my questions and was very helpful.
I appreciate the transparency of the bank via website. They clearly state what they do with my money. Im also a shareholder automatically when I join!

Moved all our banking and mortgage to BA earlier in the year and wish I'd done so earlier. Recently extended our mortgage with ease too. All done remotely by phone and online. Excellent service, good products, no hidden fees, competitive rate. Not to mention a bank that aligns with our values.

We’re registered with ASIC and regulated by APRA. We hold an Australian financial service licence (AFSL), an Australian credit licence (ACL) and are an authorised deposit-taking institution (ADI).

As a first home buyer what happens if the bank under valued the property I put an offer on. I’m already at 95% loan and have the new government scheme. Will I miss out on the loan?

Hi Maddie. We send out independent valuers to value the property and it's reasonably rare that a valuation comes in below the purchase price paid by a buyer. If that did happen, it would mean that we were limited to providing finance for up to 95% of the property valuation. Give us a call on 132 888 and you can have a chat to our Lending Team about what you'll need to do in this situation.

The only time it has been a problem for me is when I wanted to withdraw cash above the atm limit. This requires going to a branch currently I am retaining my old bank account to cover this eventuality.
