Not great. Not bad
We needed to upgrade to a larger tumble dryer and was on a tight budget. The Stirling came up on special and figured, why not. It does what its meant to and dries the clothes. The only draw back is that it only spins one way, this has resulted in mostly sheets/quilt covers being "rolled" up which effectively means they do not dey correctly. All in all a good dryer though

No good for sheets, just bundles them up.
First impressions were really good but we couldn't use for sheets. The dryer only spins one way so the sheets come out in a tight ball.
The position of the lint filter means you need to be a contortioniset to get it back in.
Also we wanted to hang one wall which was initally ok but position of door meant if you aren't tall you will need a ladder to open the door.

useless for sheets and towells
does not have a reverse function so it bundles up things likes linen, might be ok for small items. disappointing.decades old dryers have a reverse function, what was stirling thinking when they overlooked the fact that without the reversing action items just bundle up, did they even test this product?

Does the job
Had this dryer for the year now, it only spins one way so I find that all the sheets or blankets etc. Become bundled and don't dry properly! For clothes and smaller items it does the job though. Isn't too loud has a lock function to stop little fingers. Let's you know when it's finished and turns off.

Underwear
I purchased my dryer just before winter and used it mainly to dry the smalls and kids clothing. I don't know how I ever coped without one. It was very reasonably priced and worth the wait outside Aldi to make sure I got one. When needed I will put heavier pieces in it.

Maintenance fail
The Saturday this dryer went on sale my wife and I were lined up waiting for Aldi to open, it was a great deal. About 6 months later though, the lint trap in the back of the dryer kept falling off. I contacted the warranty company to have that part replaced, but they didn’t understand what I was saying. They sent a repairman out to our home to take a look at the dryer. When he got here he was so confused as to what I was saying. I even tried showing him. He ended up working on it and saying it was fine. Next thing I knew the entire drum had fal...Read more
len out of orbit and was banging around so loudly. I immediately called them back and at that point they totaled our dryer as a loss and gave me a full refund. I was happy with that but still disappointed as we really needed that dryer. Shortly after I decided to take apart the entire dryer and managed to rebuild it and now it’s still working amazingly!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Really good one
This is really worth for the value. I’m using 1.5 years without any trouble. I’m not happy with 4.5 kg one. But 6.5kg one is really good. I recommended it for my friends as well. Actually I used it twice a week and also I didn’t get big current bill. ☺️

Dangerous waste of money.
When first used, main whinge was that it took forever to dry anything. But, after using for almost a year, it's obvious that the machine is a dangerous appliance. When water first began leaking from it, we put it down to, perhaps condensation! Nooo, it was not. The water increased to pouring out from under controls, and clothes not dried. Took it to the tip with cord cut off, and 'FAULTY' written large across it. Junk like this should not be allowed into our country! We're staunch Aldi fans, but this item lets them down.

Very happy with product but lasted only about a year
Bought this from Aldi. Very happy with the product. Lasted for more than a year. Stopped working suddenly and had to call for service. It took quite some time for them to attend to the dryer but still no luck. Didn't work as before. As the machine was under warranty they were happy to give me a full refund which I was very happy with. Overall good dryer for the price. Wouldn't complain.

Great bang for your buck
Our drier has been super handy this horrible winter and was really great value for money. It also comes with a 3 year warranty. The only thing that we could fault is that is does not have the best energy rating but considering the price this more than off sets it.

I do believe it looks awesome and price wasn't too bad.
Believe it looks awesome and price wasn't too bad. It drys clothes fast. Aldi is found in many towns so you wouldn't have to drive far to get one. I'd suggest calling ahead just to make sure. Id be interested to see how electricity efficient it is. Thanks heaps

Cheap Dryer. Dries clothes well. Does the job!
Bought this dryer from Aldi in June 2017. Upon opening it up, it does look quite on the cheap side, however, the price was very cheap and it does dry clothes well. That's all we need the dryer to do. So far so good.

Average product
Poor packaging to start with, the bottom of the dryer was damaged. Works ok and I think the product offers value for money. Products warranty is a big+, I am concerned if something goes wrong, I will have trouble accessing repairers given the the experience I had in the past with Aldi's electric products.

Leaking water
We have often purchased Stirling products and have always been happy but the Aldi 6,5kg dryer is a problem as it leaks water..and also does not know when to stop when clothes are dry. We were very upset about the water as it has leaked into the cupboard it has been placed on top of. This cupboard had soap powders, etc and other items which we assumed would be safe and dry but they have been destroyed and we will have to throw out the cupboard.

Does not dry clothes still moist and dryer has been going too long
Never buy this product Stirling clothes dryer reasonable price, normally Aldi has good suppliers I will be returning to Aldi for credit and hopefully purchase another dryer after doing some research. Very disappointed with Aldi after reading the reviews about the Stirling dryer. Worst purchase ever and will check before buying anything at Aldi.

Dangerous - should be taken off the market
It ran a couple of times with average drying performance, but then it started tripping the RCD at random. Aldi customer service is non-existant. Reluctantly, they finally got someone to look at it. Rather than just replacing the obviously faulty machine they just blamed our house (because they couldn't find the fault). We live in 7 year old house. No other device has ever tripped the RCD before or since. Even power hungry power tools run fine using the same power point. If you only have issues with one appliance.... then the issue is clearly w...Read more
ith the appliance. We have since wasted money on an electrician to check our wiring. The report - everything is fine, the issue has to be the dryer. Aldi clearly have no regard for people's safety. So off to ACCC we go.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Waste of money
Just doesn't work. The tech guy came because the lid kept coming out (after changing to several new ones provided by sterling company) and he says he cant fix it send it aĺdi. Seriuosly the company did nothing again about it. Its just a waste of money. Very disappointed with aldi selling such a bad product.

Damaged and faulty. Tempo would not honour warranty.
RIP OFF. DO NOT PURCHASE. TEMPO WOULD NOT HONOUR WARRANTY!!!
I bought the Stirling 6.5kg dryer from Aldi a few months ago. Before purchased, I made sure that the box had no physical signs of damage as I was not going to use the dryer right away. I had an old dryer that was still working.
I unboxed the Stirling 6.5kg dryer two nights ago (4 months after purchased). When I placed the dryer in my laundry, I noticed that it was unstable. When I tried to adjust the legs at the bottom of the dryer, I noticed a dent. I tried starting the dryer ...Read more
but heard a grinding noise. I turned it off right away. I rang Tempo (the company on the warranty form) and emailed the photos of the damaged dryer. Tempo refused to honour the warranty as it has been over 60 days from purchased. I am very disappointed the built quality of the dryer and also with the way Tempo handled this matter. I am now left with a brand new damaged dryer that I can't use. Just threw away $279. Very expensive boat anchor!!! Tempo, thanks for nothing!1 comment
