Allows us to seat our toddler at the table with us
After watching these chairs go second hand on eBay for a lot of money, we finally decided to buy ours brand new. We are very pleased with it and our 2 yo toddler loves it. He was ready to move out of the high chair but our regular table chairs were too low. We didn't buy or need any of the accessories. Our little boy can get himself in and out and loves the independence of it, as do we.
The flat pack was easy enough to assemble. Various colour options. Easy to clean. Solid construction. Resale assured.
Not exactly a cheap item but we figure we'll get daily use for several years so the expense was justified.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this High Chair
This chair is brilliant. Wasted my money on a bloom nano which quickly became broken, unsafe and mouldy. Wish I had purchased a Tripp Trapp from the start.... it grows with my little one and he is able to sit at the table with us, with his feet supported. The other day at work I had to sit with my feet dangling down for an hour from a stool.... and it is really uncomfortable - and my son seems to prefer his seat over anything else we have tried.

Love it. Great value for money - I got mine for $260 apiece - paid more than this for the highchair, and I have piece of mind that my children are sitting in furniture that will not give them problems later in life from poor posture. We all know how uncomfortable it can be if the table is too high or low for us and we have to work with our shoulders shrugged, or dropped. Stokke Tripp Trapp is well worth the money.
This is a chair that will take you through babyhood into teenage years. It is ergonomically designed for growing children, so th...

Given the price they are an investment piece, great for sitting the family together at the table. Best for use once the kids are around 2 years old and not such messy eaters as there are still a few crevices for food to have to be wiped out of down the legs.
Comes in great natural wood and cool coloured versions, will be used from childhood to adulthood, very height adjustable, great for adults as well so we use them as multipurpose highchairs for kids and kitchen island stools for adults. Quality, sturdy construction
Our cool blue painted chair shows the scratches and wear and tear after 1 year of use (whereas the wooden ones still look like new after 3 years and 1 year of daily use)

Excellent Highchair
We purchased our Tripp Trapp for our son when we started feeding him solids, so also purchased the baby set and cushions. I would recommend the baby set which is a plastic back support, timber curved front piece with a leather crotch strap, but I wouldn't worry about the cushions and you will be forever taking them off and washing them, besides their nappy gives enough padding and its not as if they are sitting in there for hours anyway. We took the back support away when he was about 8 months but kept the front bar and crotch strap on until ...
Read morehe was about 19 months old and learnt he could climb out if he tried. We decided on this style of chair as we were limited for space, a lot of the other high chairs looked very big and bulky and we also wanted our son to learn to eat at the table with us rather than make a big mess in a high chair tray. Our son is now 2 & 1/2 years old and still uses it to eat meals with us as a family at the table. Its a great chair as we were able to get the walnut colour which matches our dining table so it doesn't look like baby furniture. Also the seat and foot rest are adjustable as your child grows, the benefit with the foot rest is that he has somewhere to rest his feet rather than swinging his legs off of a grown up chair and it gives him better posture but sitting with his feet flat on a surface rather than dangling. It is extremely easy to clean, very light weight and easy to move around. Our son climbs on and off it by himself, the only thing we need to do is move him closer to the table. He has learnt table manners quickly from eating at the table with us rather than a tray of a high chair. We are having another baby and will get another one of these chairs. I believe our toddler will use this chair until he is about 5 or so and big enough to sit on an adult chair. The other great thing about this chair is that it also has excellent re sale value on sites such as ebay, I have noticed that they sell for more than 70% of their original purchase price as long as you look after them, so this is a plus as well as they are on the expensive side for a high chair but then they are more than a high chair as they give you years of use and grow with your child. Nothing but don't waste your money on the cushions for a baby as they aren't really necessary- 5 reviews

Best thinh ever
I just love the tripp trapp. My baby can sit with us at the table and really be part of the family from such an early age. There is no tray she just eats from the table like the rest of us. The chair will grow with her and has a foot rest. Very sleek and modern so looks just like furniture rather than a normal high chair.
It lets our baby sit and eat from the dining table. Looks just like furniture, modern and sleek.
Cushion covers are material, would be great if they came in leather for easy wiping.

Love this chair - quality is unbeatable
I had a Tripp Trapp chair as a baby 30+ years ago, my mum still uses it as a step stool, and apart from the foot rest, where the varnish is slightly warn (just turn it over), the chair still looks almost as good as new. I couldn't not buy one for my baby.
We used a Bumbo seat on our dining table until baby was too big/wriggly for it, and then went straight to the Tripp Trapp. I bought the high-chair attachment, i.e. the backrest and front bar, but didn't worry about cushions or straps, baby doesn't need them. Now at 16 months, even though sh...
Read moree stands up, there is no way she's getting out of the seat. I suppose a determined toddler could stand up and wriggle so extremely that the chair might fall sideways, but I seriously doubt that, it just seems too stable - the straps could prevent the standing up, is my point. We have attached the extra gliders on the bottom of the chair. They are supposed to prevent the chair from falling backwards in case baby pushes off the table, and on our timber floor, we haven't even been close to a tilt. The chair just glides around. I love how it pushes right up against the table so baby can be part of the family during mealtimes, and that the chair doesn't take up any more room that the rest of the dining chairs. I love even more that there aren't a bunch of cracks and slots for food to get into. A bit of food gets stuck around the backrest insert though, but I'm not too concerned. What I love the most about this chair, however, is that it will grow with my child. I was a tall child and used this chair well into my teens. I know this is an investment that will last a long time. It might be pricey, but it's so worth it if you like me enjoy longevity of your possessions. No cracks and grooves for food to get stuck in. Baby can sit at the table. Fantastic quality, solid timber, same size as normal dining chair. Can't fault this chair...

Overall, this is a great high chair - I actually think it's great value for money. It is simply the most stylish high chair we could find - most baby chairs are simply dreadful to look at. Aside from looks though it does actually do a great job, and we love having our baby sitting at the table with us rather than apart from us in a highchair with a tray attached to it. It does make for some fuss when he pushes the chair away from the table, but I think the pros easily outweigh the cons on this one and as the chair grows with the child it is ...
Read morewell worth the investment. - Looks great - fits in with 'normal', adult furniture; no plastic monstrosity! - Fits like a chair at the dining table - Baby sits really comfortably - Grows with the child - no need for a booster seat later; ergonomic fit all the way through to teenagehood if so desired - 'Vanilla' version comes without baby seat attachments; like with most Stokke products, you have to invest in their brand (and their brand only!) accessories to safely and comfortably fit a smaller baby into the chair (baby seat insert, harness and cushion all extra) - Not cheap, but also (almost surprisingly!) by no means the most expensive on the market - Assembly instructions aren't great and with accessories can be a bit fiddly to build it- 19 reviews

Great alternative to plastic high chairs
We are pleased we bought the Stokke Tripp Trapp. Our 9 month son prefers to sit in other high chairs like the Ikea Antilop at the moment but we are persevering because we know that the Stokke Tripp Trapp will be a chair he can grow up with for much longer than other high chairs. It encourages him to sit with a much better posture, though he likes to try and kick off the footrest at the moment. He isn't a big boy for his age yet we find it difficult to get him into the seat with the babyset in place and have given up using the cushion.

Love this chair - although I initially thought it was a bit expensive - it will be part of my dinning room furniture for many years - so well worth the price. I would recommend it to anyone - it is comfortable, easy to use, looks great and NEVER tips over.
I love that the Tripp Trapp looks like the rest of my furniture and not a horrible baby chair that needs to sit seperatly to the table. My daughter is now 4 and still uses hers for every meal. It is also amazingly safe - my daughter has been know to hang off the back, jump, climb and dance on...
Terrible
I hope to see the benefit of this in years to come but as a baby high chair I found it to be unsafe and impractical
We were given this highchair as a gift and impressed with the quality of the chair and the philosophy behind the design. We look forward to watching our son grow up and use the chair.
I have always found it hard to clean with the baby rail and seat cover on - in fact I don't use the seat cover any more. I also found it just made so much mess on our table and all the surrounding chairs. But today I've put it in storage for a couple...

Updated review for second child experience
I love the idea of this chair - growing with the child. It is very strong (my mother insisted on sitting on it & it didn't collapse!) Unfortunately my boy is a climber, and even with the attachment to hold him in he could escape with ease. I also couldn't use it until he was 6 months old as it wasn't supportive enough until he could sit well. Then I had to change to a booster seat so that he could be clipped in! I am glad I bought this second hand, as I would be very disappointed to buy it new & use it for only 6 months. New notes to add to pre...
Read morevious experience: I like things to match, and my boy grew into his chair. He still uses it at his desk and it is sturdy enough for him to be able to pass on to his child one day. I bought a second chair, new. It comes with a new improved harness - downside is once child grows the harness had to be cut off the chair as it has a permanent fitting. It will also be a lifetime chair. I do recommend them, they tuck into the table well and although the legs stick out (trip hazard) what high chair doesn't? This is a very stylish piece of furniture which fits well under the table - so that you don't trip over it like some high chairs. Easy to clean & makes the baby part of the family rather than stuck in a corner with attached tabletop. My wriggly boy learned to stand up, then escape.Find out how Stokke Tripp Trapp compares to other High Chairs

Love the tripp trapp, it is perfect for older babies and toddlers. (Ikea antilop is best for babies IMO). It is adjustable so you can always set it up to suit the toddler's size.
it is easy to clean, looks great, easy for my toddler to climb up and down himself.
I also have the baby bar, but it doesn't fit underneath my dining table (although this is probably more the fault of the table than the chair!)
Expensive (although I imported mine from europe for a cheaper price)

Overall we love it - I am about to buy my third Tripp Trapp for my six month old daughter. My four year old and two year old eat their dinner at the table with us using them. When the kids are able to sit comfortably and not spill anything on our fabric covered dining chairs we will use these and the Tripp Trapp will become their desk chairs.
We are always complimented on their style and moderate size in comparison with more traditional plastic high chairs. Cleaning is easy, they look great and are not complicated for the grandparents to operat...

Go the Tripp Trapp. It is money you won't regret, and will stop you saying 10,000 times 'can't you just sit still/sit up straight/ STOP WRIGGLING!. And as for safety concerns - there will always be some kid somewhere who will find a way to hurt themselves even with the safest furniture available. And I believe there are leg extenders for those who are concerned. And... as always, NOTHING replaces a parent supervising.
Easy to clean, attractive, VALUE FOR MONEY - child can still use it when they're 20). We bought a tripp trapp for our daughte...

Great purchase! I think it is an excellent buy for a child that has outgrown their high chair. Maybe go for the timber finish rather than painted finish though.
Great for bigger kids (have not tried it for a baby) but bought it for my daughter when she was 3 after she was wriggling and fell flat on her face from a normal chair. She sits up at the table much more easily on the Tripp Trapp. Great that it is adjustable. It holds my weight.

Of all the baby stuff we have bought in the past 2 + years, this is my favourite purchase. Yes, it is expensive, but I think it is worth it, as the chair is adjustable to your child's height. He/she may be using it at adulthood! I also like it's design, it's simple and will fit in most décors, and is really a piece of furniture (for those who find that important!). It comes in heaps of colours, but I have a natural colour myself (personal preference).

Read more with the babyset (we did not purchase the cushions - I thought they were unnecessarily expensive, and it would be an extra thing to wash). She loved the chair immediately. The Tripp trapp does not come with a tray, which some parents may find unhandy but which means they sit at the table, just like you. Any spills are easy to clean, just a qucik wipe with water at the end of a meal! The babyset came off when our daughter was around 18 months, and she could dlimb on the chair herself. She now refers to it as "my chair". I have the idea that the chair helps good posture etc. My daughter sits in it with a straight back, and her feet are supported too (rather than dangling in the air as with other highchairs). Although it is obvioulsy not set to my height, I like to sit on it too, it is quite comfortable. The chair is easy to adjust, but I do need the manual to make sure I'm not mistaken so keep it somewhere close! The chair does require that your child can sit upright with some support in the back. So it would not be suitable, I think, for children under 6 months.- 46 reviews

I think I'd buy a second one for our second child - because of its quality, longevity and adaptability. It blends nicely with other furniture. And we've had good customer support - we assembled it incorrectly to begin with and the agent was helpful. They also promptly replaced the first chair we received, which had a large scratch on it.
We've only used this for a 2-4 year old, so can't comment for babies. It makes for a neat height when the child sits at the table with you. Nice looking - I have the natural timber look so no issues with paint. Easy for child to climb on and off.
The extra smooth and flat finish means that our 3-year-old fairly frequently slides right off it, if he's wriggling or leaning in his seat. Expensive.

Really nice being able to use it at the dining table so our little ones were able to sit up with us and eat from the table. The cushions were great as they are easy to remove and clean.
Very cool design, really easy to look after and the kids will keep on using it for years.
It can be a bit hard to adjust and it wasn't cheap (lucky it was a gift!)

Very stylish, great colour choices, easy to clean, very stable and able to take an adults weight. Great chair that can go from baby to teenager.
Great look and easy to clean. Still looks fantastic after a years worth of use. I didn't get this one until my daughter was 3 years and wish I had brought it much earlier, but it will last her for years!
Back legs stick out a bit and if you are not aware of them, they can be a trip hazard A little more costly than similar ones on the market, but if your are interested in a great look and choice of colour the Tripp Trapp can't be beat.

I love the tripp trapp, it is attractive, it is the best seat for our childs posture, it allows him to be part of family meals and it has excellent resale value.
The 2009 chair also has the option of a laminated cushion so we can just wipe off even the most impressive mess our son can create.
We considered cheaper options such as the ikea chair or the tripp trapp 'inspired' chairs but none were as attractive, as well made or as safe as the tripp trapp. Many of those 'inspired' by it are based on an older shape which doesn't have leg exten...
Read moreders in the babyset which make the (current) tripp trapp almost untippable by the child pushing off the table, whereas the older style and knock offs can be tipped. I am 100% happy with our choice to get the real thing. I Love that our son sits at the table with us, that it matches our dining table, it's incredibly easy to clean and that it is ergonomically correct. Not much, it is expensive though. It was also very fiddley to assemble.- 2 reviews

Fantastic product. Highly recommended and worth every dollar spent! The baby loves it, I love it, my husband loves it and family and friends are also very impressed with the design!
The Stokke Tripp Trapp is a wonderful design, growing with the baby from approximately 4 months to teenager (and even adult). The baby feels as part of the family sitting at the table height. He/she also enjoys the extra height watching me cooking and doing other things around the house, being able to see things that would otherwise be unviewable from a baby rocker ...

Love it! We had a "normal" high chair to start with, and another Ikea one for the holiday house. This is by far the best from a looks and fuctional point of view. It is strong, stable and we find that our boy loves sitting in it more that the others as he can sit up straight with the aid of the foot support and is part of the family meal time. I spent ages thinking about buying one due to the price but would definately get another if we have more kids.
Stylish, compact compares to "normal" high chairs. Allows our boy to sit at the table with us...
